The folks here are great and super nice! I had got my keys duplicated at a different hardware store a couple blocks away, and the keys were super sticky and finicky- I couldn't use them. I came to warman off of a recommendation and they were able to duplicate my keys for $4 each. It was a night and day difference, and the keys were super smooth and worked perfectly! Locked out of condo, HOA recommended this company. Nightmare!! 1st time, send tech he changed out front door lock. The locks are combined regular and dead bolt. The next day I got locked in the condo, the deadbolt wouldn't retract. 2nd, I called company again, they sent same tech out. He was very nice, but looked at me like I was crazy. Said, just turn knob with force. I haven't used the deadbolt at all since getting locked in the unit. 3.Fast fwd...I locked my keys in the unit and had to order another service call. A couple of things about this call...I called 5:10p store already closed. Weird because stated hours are until 5:30p. Anyways, tech calls me back and says, he's in Half Moon Bay maybe I should call another company. I wish I could, but HOA has designated Warman as the security company. So, 2.5hrs later the tech comes and we start the process of opening the door, which is not easy. Anyway, gets in and looks at front door, immediately says, "this lock isn't installed right". I'm so frustrated... that's what I said to the guy who installed it!!! Same company!!! No other company has touched that lock! 4th I now must go into the office because information last tech says will be sent to me... is never sent!! The office experience is horrendous. Guy who helped me.. didn't help, had me there around 30min, then says his manager Peter will call me in around 10min. Call never came!!!!! Also had another service call scheduled for the next morning 10a-12p..tech NO show, NO courtesy call!! 1st call was $300, 2nd call was $300 and quote $700 fix this incompetent business does NOT stand behind their work!!! read more

I cannot recommend this company less. We have worked with them for years and they are consistently: (1) hard to get a hold of and schedule. We were bumped from our appointment window multiple times with no communication from Warman. It took multiple calls to their dispatch to actually get someone out to our building (2) expensive - some of this is the nature of this business. But I think it's worth nothing that they charge on a per-hour basis for labor (instead of flat rate for a project). This can result in thousands of dollars of labor charges for a project, especially if there are any complications (3) not good at their jobs. In December 2023 our building was targeted by porch pirates. Warman has historically serviced our intercom box and we asked them to come out and modify our call box so that it would be harder to break in to. We told them repeatedly "if this call box is defective let's replace it." Warman charged us more than $1000 for their work but didn't fix any problem - our call box was broken into again in a few days. read more

The technician Vincent doesn't know what he is doing and came out suggesting a very expensive rewiring work. Did not do anything and charged $168 for the visit. I called manufacture and another dealer, they told me I don't have to rewire because I had wire already. I only need an analog phone line for the new internet provider. Warman left our building vulnerable after it was broken into. We called them to fix a callbox that thieves had opened up, thereby gaining access to our apartment building. Warman charged us over $1000 to "fix" the callbox, but failed to point out that it's a dated system with known vulnerabilities (for example: you can buy a key to open this callbox on Amazon for $10, so any bad actor can easily gain access to any building with this callbox). I would expect a modern "security" company to advise on best practices and generally be aware of crime trends in SF. Instead, they gave us a band-aid solution. We were subsequently broken into 2 more times in the weeks following Warman's "fix." read more

Our door is from the 1930s,has wrought iron coverings and is extremely heavy. I was afraid they wouldn't even be able to fix the door. They were like wizards. They made it perfect again. Warman provides the top of the line highly secure medico locks for our property, and they are very competent, responsive and professional. Whether it's a phone call to ask questions, dropping by their location to get duplicates, or arranging an appointment for some rekeying or changes of the Key and lock system, I find them to be excellent. If you want to just buy some Schlage locks at Home Depot and go to a place to copy keys, best to go somewhere else. Warman is the place to go if you want high security and very knowledgeable and responsive locksmith staff. read more

Yet another project for Warman Security. We had to order, install and key outside locks for a six unit condo on a beautiful old Victorian. Today Eddie came out. He was on time, pleasant, knew exactly what to do which included making several minor adjustments to make these replacement locks work. We have a system where we have master keys that open everything and submasters which open only YOUR outside door. And of course the key must also open the gate where the trash is. Eddie expertly installed everything, checked to be sure it worked and left the place spotless. It did not surprise me. Warman's is great. That is why we keep returning to them. I called just to speak with someone about taking over the account. No response. A week later we were getting ready to move in and felt nervous without an alarm system because of all of our computer equipment. I called again with the same message/request and gave my information. No call back. A third attempt ended similarly. We call another alarm company, get immediate response and go with them. A few months later a man purporting to be the owner calls me. Wow. That's a long lead time..... Fast forward three years. I need to replace the intercom systems in several multi family buildings. This time I go into Warman in person. Two med behind the counter literally has a staring competition (them staring at the "work" on their countertops and me staring at them) to avoid helping me. Finally one guy must have felt enough shame to ask me what I wanted and I told him. He sighed as though I was too stupid to know what I'm talking about (that was dumb of him) and after I whipped out pictures of what I had and a full description of what I needed, his attitude did not improve. Left my info with him for the "expert in that field" and guess what?!? Never heard back. Talked to a few other SF natives who had similar experiences and decided their wares cost way too much $$ to put up with that garbage. read more

As I recently discovered, this is not always the case. When I brought home my copies I found they did not work in the door as the original did. So, I decided to go to the professionals at Warman. I told them my woeful tale of incorrectly copied keys and they let me know that this is often the case with keys cut at hardware stores and the like. At a fraction of the price the other place charged, Warman hooked me up with two copies of a key that (surprise!) actually work in the garage door they're intended for. I've had two encounters with Warman Security. For the first, I actually didn't see their service but I did speak with them on the phone when I was locked out of my apartment. In a panic, since my manager's office wasn't getting back to me, I located them on Yelp and asked them how much it would cost to get my door opened up. They were super friendly and while the quote made me nearly pass out, I was willing to pay it if I couldn't get my damn manager in to let me in. They were really understanding that I might have a manager in before they could get there and told me to call back if I got someone to let me in before their tech arrived. Luckily, my manager did show up, I called Warman back, and they were very gracious and polite when I cancelled. A few days later, I decided to get a copy of my door key made so I wouldn't have a repeat of locking myself out and I headed to the local hardware store. They didn't have the right type of key for it, so they recommended Warman Security to me since it was right around the corner. I came in and the guy was able to quickly and easily make me two keys. Both worked great! The employee who served me was considerate and helpful and gave me some ideas on where I could store the key or lock options in case I locked myself out again. For any lock, key or locksmith needs, I'd be more than happy to go back to Warman. read more

where do I start. Frank. We walked in, having this been the 6th or 7th different key place, looking for a replacement for my mopeds key. Frank took a look at it and immediately said, "let me take a look for you guys." He quickly got to work and spent 10 minutes looking through countless blanks to reprint out key on to. After the said 10 minutes, Frank comes back to us. With full confidence and conviction, Frank said "I can tell you that we can do this but I will tell you, because there is not an exact blank available, I cannot garuntee it will work. " But I had confidence. Frank instilled a level of confidence in me that I've never felt from anyone else in my life. His confidence in providing the best of his abilities to me as a customer truly changed my outlook on life. We drove back home after a fun day in sf, hopeful of what Frank had worked so hard on. We arrived, and we were all giddy to see how it would pan out. We stuck the key in the ignition, and it slid in. I turned the key, and it turned. We sat there speechless. Frank had done it. He had gotten us our fabeled replacement moped key. I cannot say this enough, but thank you so much Frank. You provided us with a key that no one else could have; a key that I began to give up hope of finding a copy as time passed. But not only did you provide us with a key, you gave us all a new outlook on life. You made us realize how happy being passionte and confident about something can truly make someone. Thank you Frank. I've hired them for several projects that we needed in the building I live in - they've done GREAT work, and they were priced almost HALF of what their competitors were priced at. Also, I needed a very specific Medeco nut for a cylinder lock that I was trying to install. I stopped by their store to see if I could buy it there. Sure enough, they found one that would work and GAVE it to me for FREE. Now, I'm not suggesting that you should go there for free stuff, but they went way above and beyond in my case. As if losing the keys to my apartment wasn't a logistical nightmare already (desperate serach for my keys, being effectively homeless for a night, playing phone tag with my property manager), Warman Security turned the nightmare into an extended hell. Altogether today, I interacted with Warman in real time three times. None of these three interactions yielded a resolution, and not only that, none of the people with whom I spoke bothered to try. Interaction #1: After I received a voicemail from a Warman representative, I called back to set up an appointment; my property manager had already communicated that she had submitted a work order. The Warman representative could not find the work order. He said he would call me back. Interaction #2: To his credit, the Warman rep found the work order, but he said he could only let me in--not create another copy of my key. I confirmed with him, as I had confirmed with my property manager in writing and over the phone, that I actually needed a separate copy of my key. He said he would need permission from my property manager. He said he would get her confirmation and call me back, and if he couldn't reach her, he would work with me to figure out a solution. Interaction #3: Two hours later, I hadn't received a call from the Warman rep. When I called back, Warman's answering service rep answered. I said I needed help getting a copy of my key. She said she couldn't help me and that I would have to call back the next day. What is the point of having an answering service if the person answering that service is incapable of referring you to any resource? She neither apologized nor tried to help. I work in customer experience, and if I had delivered that kind of disorganized, cavalier service--at a time when someone needed it the most--I would have suffered severe professional repercussions. Warman sold me a dead battery for my security system. I didn't realize it was bad until the security system technician from AAA Home Security came out and tested the entire system and determined the replacement battery was the problem. When I went to return the battery to Warman, they tested it and confirmed it was bad, but they said they have a no return policy on "electronics". I am out the $40 for the battery plus the security company service call cost, not to mention all the time I wasted. Terrible business practice on Warman's part. I will never go back. read more

Worst experience I've had. On the phone was not advised of their outrageous prices. They then gave me an hour window, which the person missed. I had to call them twice before the person showed up. It ended up being a relatively small job, pulling a key out with some pliers, which took all of two seconds, after which the guy smirked and then said you know it costs extra on the weekend. I have done business with them for years only because my company has a corporate account with them, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time. Considering some of the stories I have heard about them, they deserved to be taken to small claims court by more than one customer. Warman is overpriced, and they act like they are doing you a favor when they make a sale. Go in there and see. Sour faces, no pleasant demeanor, and they certainly don't mind making you wait long enough to get something so you have to worry about your meter running out and getting a $60 or $70 parking ticket. Go to Metro Lock on Divisidero instead. On the other hand, some of their field locksmiths are quite nice guys and very professional. read more

Their Peninsula office staff sounded sincere and professional. Joe at the SF office was very rude, hanging up on me and telling me different stories. First he quoted me a price and when I tried to confirm it, he kept telling me he didn't like to quote prices. So I asked if the tech, when he gets to the site can give me a final estimate before he begins, he said no. Then he started telling me that they would charge per hour for labor and such and that the prices would be higher, etc, etc. With so much competition out there, professionism and honesty are the core of any business's integrity. After awesome reviews and clearly looking like a place that has actual professional locksmiths - I took in a blank lexus key to get it copied. I realize that its tricky to cut these little buggers but i figured it would be cheaper then going to the dealer. After handing the tech the blank key and my original he started working on it without saying a word. Sweet im thinkin...no problems here....they got this shitnet on lock down. get it? lock down? Well after feeding the parking meter 2 times and watching 3 people attempt to put humpty back together for 40 minutes i was getting worried the tab would be more then the dealers. But nope...worse....they hand me the key back looking like a dog chew toy with the explanation of "We don't have the machinery to cut this type of key, and now your key is broken and wont be able to be used, i don't carry this type of key so what do you want to do about this?" Well I asked "ehh is there anything you can do about this?" after the answer of "well i can recommend someone else if you have another blank" was the best he had to offer....i decided to cut my losses, forgo turning into the hulk and just make sure i didn't get a parking ticket to put a cherry on top. read more
