San Diego is extremely fortunate to have a dermatologist of her caliber, and I feel very fortunate to have her as my dermatologist. Dr. Liu is an exceptionally talented physician and surgeon. I have had two Mohs surgeries performed by her on my face. For those unfamiliar with Mohs surgery, it is a highly specialized technique used to remove skin cancer while preserving as much healthy tissue as possible. The tissue is examined microscopically during the procedure to make sure the cancer has been completely removed. One of my cancers required a fairly significant amount of tissue to be removed from my cheek. After Dr. Liu finished, you could barely tell anything had ever been done. The other was directly above my left nostril, where removing a significant amount of tissue could easily have affected the appearance and shape of my nose. Dr. Liu did what I can only describe as a magician's job. She removed the cancer while preserving the appearance of my nose. The cosmetic result was remarkable. Her credentials are equally impressive. Dr. Liu graduated from Princeton University and earned both her M.D. and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She completed her dermatology residency at UCLA and is board-certified in both dermatology and Micrographic Dermatologic Surgery. She is also a Fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery and has repeatedly been selected by her physician peers as one of San Diego's Top Doctors. As impressive as her credentials are, she is also kind, personable, caring, and easy to talk to. I have trusted her with my skin and, quite literally, my face for about 15 years. Excellent doctors are often busy, and Dr. Liu is absolutely worth the wait. I would recommend her without hesitation. I feel incredibly lucky to have her as my dermatologist.

Also, they overcharged me for my copay by $35 and never reached out about refunding me and since I can't seem to get anyone on the phone it seems I will just have to forget about it. Unfortunately during the first treatment my face was burned and I ended up with deep purple bruises and blisters. I had to stay home for a week until the blisters subsided. My face became more red than before the treatment. I was told that the next two sessions would give me the expected results, but they did not. My face became very sensitive and the redness didn't go away. I noticed deeper broken capillaries in the areas where I was burned. When I expressed my concerns Sydney simply shook her head and said: "there is always a risk". My risk was in her hands. Her job was to assess my skin type, select the appropriate filters and correctly adjust the laser's energy setting, but she is either inexperienced or incapable. After contacting Sydney again I got a call from the owner, Stacy Grissen and she set up an appointment for me to come to see her the fallowing week.The day of the appointment Stacy called me and with an aggressive tone of voice informed me that she was cancelling our meeting, (BTW if I cancelled an appointment the same day they would charge a fee). She said that I snapped my fingers in front of Sydney's face, which is a complete lie... and btw why wait a week to cancel an appointment? I guess she decided to be offensive rather than being concerned that her employee did damage to my face.The way she treated me is inappropriate and dishonest.
