I brought my computer in after it stopped working due to water damage (wouldn't turn on). They approximated the time to fix would be 2-3 weeks, which is fine and per usual these days, but they stated they would call me with updates. I never received a call. I called approx. 4 weeks in and they stated that they were still trying to diagnose the problem. They told me they would call me in a week with an update and never did. When I called them, they said they had repaired the motherboard but that it still wouldn't turn on. They said they would take over the process of getting me a replacement and again, said that they would keep me updated. Another month passes and I had to reach out. All in all, they never started the process and told me that I would need to come in and get the computer and reach out to get the replacement myself. Once I picked it up, they take 15 minutes to find the computer and bring it out with no charger. When I asked for my charger, they said that I never brought it in to them, which I did. Also, I was given a cell number to text for updates. I texted three times with no text back. I also left multiple voicemails at the main building on Sunnyside with no call backs. I stopped by here close to closing. I had a couple old phones that have been collecting dust for a few months now and decided to finally sell them. I didn't want to go through Craigslist or offer up because of bad past experiences so I decided to try my local option. Mike and Jim were very welcoming and evaluated my two phones. I wasn't expecting much out of them since they were so outdated but they gave me more than I though I'd get! I also purchased some accessories for my new phone and they installed a high quality tempered glass for my iPhone X. I'm so happy with my experience! Took my phone in 2 days before the huge snow storm, they guaranteed they could fix it. I paid $89 & waited for my phone for over a week because they had been closed, only for them to say they couldn't fix my phone. They wouldn't give me a refund or any of my money back. I can't save any of my pictures or anything. I'm 7 months pregnant and lost all my maternity pictures. The least they could have done is gave me my money back. Don't go here. read more

I wouldn't even recommend anyone walk pass this shop. The service or lack thereof is sketchy, unreliable, and not worth the pain and hassle of dealing with the staff. I am pretty certain I overpaid greatly for the run around, lack of follow through and insufficient repairs. Initially, I went here because my laptop would not turn on or if it did, it would present a blue screen or would not make it past the start up screen. I found this place on this site and decided to take a chance since there were good reviews and it was close to home. My issues started the moment i walked in. When you walk in, it is like a hospital waiting room. People are just standing around pensive. Waiting and more waiting. After some time, the guy working the front desk FINALLY acknowledges me. I explain the issue and he goes to get Pail. When Paul came out I explained my issue. He said he'd take in the back to have a technician diagnose it. He's gone no less than 5 minutes and says the cost to fix it is $289!!! That's where I became suspicious of their business practices. I asked what the cost includes since they advertise $129 flat fee to fix laptops. He starts saying that the cost includes the hard drive, which is apparently broken, labor, and data recovery. He couldn't truly define all the cost, but insured it was cheaper than going to Best But since the drive itself would cost more than $200. This, I later found out on a subsequent visit, is not true since he gets the drives at cost, less than $100. Then came more misinformation and lack of follow through and inability to meet stated timeframes. Paul promised my laptop would take a few hours to fix. It would be ready the next day he said. They would call me. Well, they didn't call me. Concerned, I called them for an update. He said the laptop was not quite ready. It would take another day, but definitely ready by 4pm the next day. I arrived the next day to find it still wasn't ready. I was told it would take a little longer to run updates but it would be ready in an hour. When I arrived two hours later, it still wasn't ready and HAD NO DATA. They hadn't even tried to transfer the data. I expressed my dissatisfaction and got a song and dance about what calls his team was duooised to make to give me updates...which never came...and how it was all a misunderstanding. He refunded 1/2 the 289 and said they would keep working on the data. Took the laptop and realized they didn't install the keypad mouse drivers. Took the laptop back...another two days of no calls, except by me to get updates. Promises to get results, yet none. I still have a laptop with no keyboard mouse functionality and a hard drive that I cannot transfer the data from unless I pay another company an aborbadant fees. Paul makes a lot of promises that his staff can't seem to bring to fruition. Extremely annoying and aggravating and time-wasteful experience. I'm disheartened and disgusted. read more

Paul and team helped me out when my iPhone got water damage. They tried for a couple of weeks to restore my phone or recover data from it. I got an iPhone 7 from them, in great shape, to use. After my situation changed, they then allowed me put the phone up for consignment. They sold my phone and I was able to recuperate most of the cost of the phone. They were very flexible, professional, and customer-oriented, as well as very busy. They also offered me assistance at another location, because of difficulty I had with store hours. This store is a junkyard for parts and dusty bags of off brand parts. Their repair services are slow and worst of all, they lie about when a product will be ready for pick up. Last time, when I arrived at the agreed upon date they said..."it will just be a minute...he's wiping it off" ...it was two days later when I finally picked it up on the third try. I called ahead to see how much my phone was worth and asked if they had any of my make and model and type. Thinking I was a buyer, they quoted me $199 but I shoe what the lowest end of the same phone would host and they said they could give it to me for the lowest price of $169. I then took my brand new phone in, still in the box with all its original contents plus a brand new $30 cover and they said my phone had very little resale value and they could only give me up to $30 for it. I realize they are in the business to make money, but offering me less than a fifth to sixth of the price they're selling them for??? I used to think they were a reputable company but I have sold the $50 beaten up Samsung's to them for $20. I felt that they were almost trying to steal my phone. Of course, I declined. They also kept my sim key. I will never return to that store not any other of their locations and recommend for good deals on phones and laptops that you look first on Craigslist and apps like offer up and Letgo where the owners aren't being massively ripped off as the sellers to comprite are and the markup is significantly less. Dropped my computer off on a Wednesday. Told them time was of utmost importance as I am a college student taking distant learning classes. They told me it would be ready Saturday. It was not ready Saturday. They offered to bring it to me or have me pick it up at another date and their price went up and down a scale ranging from $600-$140 the entire time. They said they performs repairs and cleaning that were not done. Ultimately I walked out after paying $80 with a new app and nothing fixed a week later. They lied, exaggerated, and up-priced me constantly until they realized they weren't' t talking to an idiot. I took my business elsewhere without results From comprite. Dishonest and dishonorable! Additionally, none of the staff had their masks covering their noses the entire time, only their mouths and they allowed people unmasked to come in their store on more than one occasion. read more

Wow!!! They are awesome! They were able to extract the data (photos) from our broken external hard drive and saved us from having to send it off to a central location to have the data retrieved. I brought my laptop in back in February because my screen wasn't working, IT HAS BEEN 5 MONTHS SINCE THEN AND THEY STILL HAVE NOT FIXED IT, 5 MONTHS!!!!!! HOW IN THE HELL DOES IT TAKE ALMOST HALF A YEAR TO FIX A LAPTOP!!!! For the first month of them having my laptop, I heard absolutely nothing from them, no phone call, no email, nothing. After a month I tried to get a hold of someone, I had to call REPEATEDLY to find someone who could tell me what was taking so long. I always got the same response from their staff, "someone will call you back." No one ever did. I WILL NEVER DO ANY Business with Any Comprite again because of them, and you shouldn't either. Excellent! I brought in a Dell laptop that belongs to a friend of my grandmother. A key was sticking even though no keys were stuck down. It ended up needing a keyboard replacement. These guys were incredible. Not only did they fix the computer in a short period of time (less than an hour), they were kind and very helpful. Most importantly, they didn't over charge. What would have been $150-$200 at Best Buy cost $89 here. They run a free diagnostic and don't charge you just to look at it, like most other places. This is the only place I would go for computer service. Paul is the best. Very easy to work with. Does a great job at a good price. He did some work for me on a computer over a year ago. I was have trouble with it, the battery would not charge, the plug for the charging cord was not working. They fixed it for free. Great warranty service. I'm not sure why this place has so many good reviews. I took my laptop here and waited for a half hour to talk to someone. They told me it was my drive and charged me $239 and to pick it up two days later. They said they would install windows 10 and Microsoft office. It wasn't ready the day it was supposed to be. Also, when I did pick it up, no Microsoft office, instead it's Apache OpenOffice. Now I'm getting notices on my computer that I need to provide a product key for windows 10, which of course I don't have. Also, the person who helped me made a big deal about giving me a free external drive, but my computer doesn't recognize it when I plug it in, so it's basically worthless to me. I wish I would have gone to a more legitimate place. read more

My Daughter and Son purchased a reconditioned and guaranteed phone from Comprite's Clackamas shop for my birthday in November, 2021. When the phone stopped charging in April 2022 I took it to Comprite's Clackamas shop for repair. A $100 charge repaired the phone and Paul explained how to avoid the issue in the first place and threw in another $100 of case, magnetic charging jack and cord for free. He also said that following this repair phone would be guaranteed going forward. This was music to my ears as I am a luddite. Only reason this is 4 stars instead of 5 is because of initial miscommunication re time required for repair so I had to wait longer than I had energy for. I will be back to this shop for my electronic needs. read more

Came here with a minor emergency. My Samung Galaxy S7 edge volume decrease button was permanently smashed in, which left my phone in permanent safe mode (since you have to build it down when you restart it to get safe mode). It was my first day traveling from New York, so all of my apps and data, like Google maps were 100% necessary for us. (I was traveling with two people from outside of the country, so they had to rely on catching Wifi everywhere.) Thankfully, they quickly took apart my phone and popped the button back up for only the base labor cost of $89. Their usual fix time is 2 hours, but they did it in about an hour and a half... and I was a walk in. Vacation saved! read more

Went there to fix my Samsung Galaxy s7 rear camera glass..they said I need a whole new camera not just glass 140 bucks I walked out since I had insurance on phone it was going to be 100 for a replacement, but on way to Verizon I decided to get a second opinion. Comprite is the ONLY place that I will go to get my electronics fixed. I came in with a broken phone, my android pretty much over heated and stopped working. They told me it would take a few hours to fix. For me, not having a phone for that long was a huge issue as my work is mostly online. They went ahead and gave me a loaner phone for FREE to use for day or for however long I needed until they got my phone fixed! I couldn't believe the customer service they provided! They were so helpful and were able to figure out the issue within a few hours! I returned their loaner phone and got mine back. The owner is so nice and friendly, always trying to help and is so generous. It's a family owned and operated business, so you can see how much more they care about their customers and getting the job done right. Unlike the big box retailers that also fix electronics. I have now had three devices batteries refreshed, and broken screens repaired. Let me tell you Comprite is the place to go to handle your phone and laptop repairs. His shop is always busy, but the volume of people does not make for long turn over on your repair. I cracked the screen on my iPhone 7 Plus. Like, bad. This was the first time I had done that and I had no idea what to do so I started asking around and I had a couple people mention CompRite to me. So instead of spending a grand on a new phone I thought I'd try it out. I had a problem with my computer and took it to CompRite at 12036 SE Sunnyside, Happy Valley, OR. The owner was amazing. They fixed my computer within 24 hours at a very fair price. He replaced my hard drive with a digital one and did not lose any of my information, cleaned it, then he left the old hard drive as an external memory after making sure it had no problems. When I brought my computer home, I was having a difficult time reconnecting it and they called their location here at 20145 Salamo Rd., West Linn, and Eric came and connected my computer. He was so nice and helpful. They sell Cell Phones at incredible prices . Their computer repair prices are also amazing. I had an MSI gaming laptop GT70-0ND with Windows 8.1 that was having issues with the dedicated video card NVIDIA GTX 675m (crashing and blue screening). The laptop was two years old and the warranty at MSI had expired so didn't have much choice but to find a different place to get it fixed. A friend recommended I take it to Comprite in Clackamas, brought it in around February 2015. Very friendly staff, they looked into the issue I paid about $89 for the labor. Went to go pick up it a couple of days later and they had me pay another $89 dollars. They said they opened it up and cleaned out the inside that it had a lot of dust and build up, I don't know much about the inside of a laptop but was glad that they cleaned it out. Well about a week or two weeks later the problem came back again. Took it back to them in March 2015, thankfully I had a two month warranty to where if I had the issue come up they will fix it for free. They tried to figure out if it was maybe a driver problem, said they installed a different driver from a month before I started having the issues in February. Sadly when playing a game it would freeze about 20-30 minutes into playing and would crash with an error message. It was getting to be really depressing and stressful for me when it happened as I paid almost $1,500 on this laptop. They gave me several options but the only responsible option I chose was to downgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 7. It was definitely a headache and so I thought I would be more happier with Windows 7 as Windows 8 was just one huge nightmare especially for a gamer. I think I paid $120 for the cleaning of the laptop, wiping of the hardrive and installing Windows 7 on it. It was a trial version so I had to go and buy a key some where. When I picked it up a couple of days later I asked them if I could buy a key, Paul had an extra Windows 7 key from an older laptop. He gave it to me free of charge. Went back home to try out some games, noticed they played a lot smoother and quicker with Windows 7. I was playing Sims 4 when about 28 minutes into the game I received a blue screen. I was shocked that it happened to me, seems even with a different operating system it still happened. Only thing I could think of was the video card was just on the edge of dying and so nothing I could do was not playing games on my laptop. I called Comprite on April 25th 2015. Told them I was still having the same issue but now getting a blue screen all together now. They told me there was nothing they could do to figure out what the problem might be no since it had a fresh install and new drivers. I was pretty much set on the problem being the video card and since finding parts from MSI are very slim I might have to just leave the video card alone and not use it for gaming. It's been almost a month now and I gave up playing PC games on my laptop. The laptop itself works perfectly fine I enjoy Windows 7 a lot more than I did with Windows 8 it's just that if I use the dedicated video card is when I start having the blue screen issues. Next time I will just have to invest on a gaming desktop and not rely on gaming on a laptop. Edit: After writing this review Paul from Comprite emailed me and refunded some of the money that I spent trying to get the laptop fixed. read more

They completed the repair at the stated cost and more or less on time. Only a day late and 3 trips. Paul needs to stop making promises if he can't deliver. It's far better to have a realistic idea of how long it will take. AND he needs to stop telling me how much someone else would charge. It makes him sound like a frantic car salesman, and you wonder if you haven't made a big mistake in handing over your device. Stop flitting from one customer to another. Just deal with the one in front of you and then the next. I was there over an hour each time.Three times. Stop lying to the customers: they lost my charger and then pretended it was defective so they'd provide me a "free" one in replacement. Stop telling me someone else would deactivate my bitlocker for a "whole lot of money" but if I would bring the device back on Monday they'd do it "for free." I got home, looked it up online and fixed it myself in about 3 clicks. Overall, they did the work I needed. But it was needlessly painful. read more
