I came in the second time and the guy said he doesn't know how and to come back. BS!!! This manager yelled at me after the Verizon tech support on the phone told me to take pictures of the employees because they were joking around. While waiting g one hour and a half, with no help, I overheard Salespeople, more than one, being in store customers thst the CEO is charging for all routine services to make money. To top this all off, the dsles people nickle and dime you. One customer was not expecting to pay an immediate $185.00 cash upfront in order to get sn Apple I phone, and another customer ended up paying $40.00 for activation, taxes, $29.99 fir transfer fee, and assessories that were push on them, costing this customer over $250.00 up front. Sales people are not interested in helping yiu, only to get you in, take your money, snd get you out. For 3 weeks now, I have tried to upgrade my phone, only to get resistance. My phone, now barely works, but Verizon does not care. Stay away from Verizon. Go to T Mobile or other carriers. Verizon quality is now trash. read more

So many one star reviews. Went to just get a phone and add a line. Only one employee working who was not very knowledgeable about anything. Walked out without a phone or additional line after wasting 45 minutes. Went home and did it all online. Also was going to charge me $50 set up fee on top of activation fee even though i just needed phone and nothing transferred over onto new phone. I don't think whoever is running this corporate store is very involved or trains employees at all. This is supposed to be a top tier service provider. Tom is amazing. I spent over 14 hours on the phone with Verizon, losing valuable time during my workday, and still got nowhere. I walked in and within about 30 minutes--most of which was me digging up passwords--Tom had everything resolved. I came in completely stressed, expecting to be there for hours, and he handled it quickly and effortlessly. Overall - Go to another Verizon store unless you like to be pushed around. We've all heard of the famous sales line - "What would it take for you to sign today?" Typically this is used by pushy salespeople at a car dealership, but never have I imagined that I would be asked this outside of that industry! I went into the Verizon store located inside the Clackamas Promenade on Sunnyside Rd with one sole purpose - price shop. At this time, news had leaked that T-Mobile was going to no longer offer their legacy plans and everyone would be upgraded to their new plan leading to an increased monthly price. When I arrived, every associate was helping a customer but the manager checked me in and rudely said "sit there" pointing to a table around the corner. However, I will forgive that a bit because after sitting for about 10 minutes, he went around asking if anyone wanted some water. After waiting for about a total of 30 minutes which I cannot complain about because they were busy, I was finally greeted by a sales associate. I explained to him that I was looking to leave T-Mobile, the price I was paying, and the number of lines. Typically, you would expect the sales associate to ask you what you are looking for because there could be features one carrier offers that another doesn't or if there are things I can do without to lower the price but this wasn't the case - he immediately asked me for my contact information and social security. Keep in mind, I was just there to price shop with absolutely no intention to sign which I had made crystal clear but he proceeded to ask for my social security. I mentioned to them this was the second Verizon store I've visited and I have shopped at AT&T with none of them asking for my social so I am uncomfortable providing it unless I am ready to become a Verizon customer. His response was, "This is the process" but luckily his manager, the one who checked me in, told him to just proceed which made me question, whether it was a part of the process or a sales tactic. At this point, it was clear that I would be in for a ride! The sales associate started to look at his iPad and it wasn't for about another 10 minutes that he eventually said something - "I'm going to the back to get the quote." Again, at no point and time did he ask me what I was looking for - he solely based his quote on my plan at T-Mobile. Once the sales associate came back, the manager sat down and it started to feel like a car dealership where I was being cornered. I asked them questions that I asked the other Verizon store to validate their statements like if there were any employer partnership discount. Being comfortable with the quote, I was ready to get up and head home but the manager asked the famous quote - "What would it take for you to sign today?" I responded with the simple answer that I needed to talk it over with my wife when she's off work and this is one of my favorite responses from the entire interaction, "just give her a call" - you can immediately tell they were getting desperate for a sale. I repeated the same response and added "My wife is going to be mad if I sign something without talking it over with her." The following response from the manager was shocking, "Why would she get mad." If it wasn't for the Verizon store at Gresham Station providing me premium quality, non-pushy service, I would have easily either signed with AT&T or gladly waited out the T-Mobile news to be officially announced. read more

I came into the store to get help setting up my new iPhone 15. The store manager got my phone started with a back up and suggested I come back the next day with an appointment due to the hours-long wait. I did just that. Before I could get anything out of my mouth the employee said 'It's $29.99 to setup.' Then he shrugged after I let him know the store manager said nothing if any setup fee and rather than trying to earn my loyalty and trust just let me go - obviously disgruntled and disappointed. My son and I needed to upgrade our phones. The salesperson assigned to us was pushy throughout the whole transaction, insisting we could ONLY get trade-ins on our old phones if we upgraded our plan to the MOST expensive one, and "it will be cheaper than if you stay on your old plan". Lie and lie. The next week I went to a different Verizon store to change my plan back and was told I would have gotten that trade in even if I'd never upgraded! And the new bill turned out to be way more than she had quoted with her deal, not cheaper. She made us feel hurried "my manager is telling me to wrap it up because we allot 1 hour for each client and you've been here for 2 hours" (ahem...we were 2 clients, so we get 2 hours). What a horrible service !!! We are a small local company. We place an order through a business customer service representative Carol for two phone upgrades, she told us that the order will be shipped into our office with two business days, it's been two weeks and we still didn't get our phones. Every time we called we got different types of excuses and promises that the phones will be delivered shortly. Worst customer service you can imagine !!! If I wouldn't tight with a contract to Verizon I would leave them a long time ago. I hope people read this review and make the right decision when choosing a cellular provider. read more

Went in this afternoon to buy a new phone as my old one needed to be replaced. The store was almost empty, two people at desks and one staff member at the door talking to two customers. I stepped in and waited to be acknowledged, which didn't happen, so I went to the wall to look at phones and accessories, at which point the employee informed me I needed an appointment to be in the store, and since they were closing soon they couldn't help me. I guess this place has all the business they can possibly handle if they require appointments to charge you full price for a phone and give you a high pressure sales pitch, so I'd recommend going somewhere else that still remembers how to treat a customer. read more

I am a single mother of an autistic toddler and like many other parents has gone through a couple phones in the past year due to dropping/throwing/sucking on the charging port etc. So after five years of being a repeat customer I figure it would be okay for me to go into the store and ask for help connecting a phone I just recently purchased off of Mercari. I can't buy new because again, single mother of a toddler and we all know how hard the struggle is lately. I have never felt so disrespected and looked down upon I am disgusted. I explain my situation to him and once I explained that I had checked the IMEI number through the Verizon bring your own phone checker link on their website he looked at me and didn't say anything but the dumb founded look on his face made me question myself because apparently the terms "IMEI" and "SERIAL NUMBER" are foreign to him. So my child is growing pretty impatient right and it's been about twenty minutes and this dude literally four different times straight up walks away from me mid sentence to assist another person walking in the door. I understand somebody has to be checking customers in because of social distancing and sanitizing and what not but he literally did not even say "excuse me" or "one moment" or anything that would even remotely resemble any kind of professionalism or customer service. So at this point my son is starting to fling himself around and again, he is AUTISTIC and he is barely THREE YEARS OLD so go ahead and google the tantrums that can explode at any given second and tell me if you wanna go shopping while one is being expressed. The dude straight up told me that my phone isn't verizon compatible after I finally got fed up after probably fourty minutes of this bull shit and said I'm just going to go. He was like okay sorry I couldn't help and I am like I'm sure you are. I was surprised he was even capable of that level of customer support. I get home right so I go log into MYVERIZON website and wow what do you know, the new phone linked to my account is the new phone I was just told was not compatible through verizon. Decided to visit this store out of convenience. What I found is they are not convenient at all. I wouldn't recommend this particular store as the staff is very young and haven't quite learned how to communicate to a diverse community. While waiting the team of three young adults made me feel as it I had a problem as if I were causing them inconvenience. Terrible. The company. This store. All of it. They will lie to sell you a plan. Once you are signed up, god forbid you need any actual service or assistance. If your account gets hacked - you can spend hours talking with their fraud department and customer care teams - You will hear "We are so sorry. "We understand"...etc... They will tell you - it will never happen again. Have you jump through hoops. Changing your email, passwords, log in, pin numbers, etc... Then it will happen again. And it will keep happening. You'll jump through every hoop, and yet it will still happen. You will go down to the local store - where the rep tells you to go. There' you'll have to re-tell all of the story. They could look it up - but they won't as that would require some effort on their part. Instead they'll make you wait 45 minutes for us - to get no help. We were literally on the phone with Verizon fraud - and the store manager - Daniel refused to talk with them. Have never met more useless moronic people than I have met dealing with Verizon. It appears there isn;t a brain between any of them. We just went back to Tmobile - are they perfect, no. But WAY better than Verizon. Not even close. I haven't had Verizon for a few years but my poor husband thought he could go to "pay as you go" to avoid their madness and alas, he was wrong. They "closed" his account and told him he had no balance and opened his "new" pay as you go. I warned him that he better check online, on the app. He did....no balance! A week later, notification of overdue payment and after calling to see why they charged a lovely late fee. I have NEVER in my life been treated worse than by the staff at this location! Let me explain. I ordered a new phone for my mother who has poor English through customer service by phone. I had asked the rep to add her name as pick up person as she would be the one picking it up, just to make sure. After the order, I created a new plan & removed myself from her account. Mom was & is the account OWNER (the family plan is under her name). I was added as the account manager over 15 years ago. Long story short. She came to pick up the phone around 5-5:30pm and first female rep who greeted her told her she could not pick up the phone because the order didn't have her name on it. My mother kept tryin to explain to the store rep that she's the account owner & her name was supposed to be on the order. The store rep acted annoyed & unwilling to help. This went on for 20 min when she finally called me & asked me to come to the store before 6pm because they close at 6. Because I had 5 min to get there, I ran out of the house & forgot my ID. On the way there, I called the customer service line through which I had ordered the phone and asked why my mom wasn't able to pick up the phone. The agent said it didn't matter who's name was on the order since she's the account owner, she should have been able to pick up the phone! With the agent on speaker I arrive to the store & a new gentleman came out to assist. He was the most disrespectful customer service agent I've ever met in my life! When I had explained the situation he instantly was cutting me of & telling me the store was closing. I asked him to speak to the customer service agent I had on the phone & he said "nope I don't want to talk to her" even the agent on the speaker became upset and started to explain to him that they need to release the phone since mom is the account owner and the phone is ordered under her number. I asked him to call out his manager.. He grinned at me, & said "nope, I'm not gonna call him cuz he's not gonna help you, we are closed now" & quickly ran inside & pulled the door shut behind him & held it from the inside grinning at me and taunting me..... (this was happening outside the store cuz of Covid)... I was shocked!!! All this was happening in front of my mom and my 11 year old sister.... My moms phone wasn't working, she was getting missed calls from her employer, & the most devastating part of all this, was that I had to come back next day to pick up the phone, during which she missed a Covid test confirmation call. & because she didn't confirm her Covid test that morning, her surgery got cancelled & delayed another 3 months. (She had to get tested prior to the surgery) This was extremely horrible!! I've never seen anything like this. The reps there have no respect for their customers, & no willingness to help! I am still shocked at this. I'm also gonna escalate this to the store manager & the regional manager.. was also advised by some to notify the news. Let me make something clear, I don't ever leave reviews, especially negative ones. But the way the whole situation unfolded and how my mom and I were treated, I am really going out of my way and comfort zone to post this and escalate it with the managers. read more

After 2 separate 1 hour bus rides, misinformation, a 54 minute phone call with customer service to purchase an out of stock screen protector and initially being turned away from my scheduled appointment to have the protector apllied( I am atrocious at it!) due to Covid restrictions. COMPLEATLY understandable, and then being referred to a 2nd party kiosk at the mall, where they were charging $15 to apply it, I went back to this Verizon store and explained my situation. The manager, Derek(sp?) said he would make an exception, as I waited outsite for the screen protector guru, Brandon, to adhear it for me. Above and beyond stellar customer service!!! It may seem like a ridiculous request, but it meant so much and I am beyond appreciative! Absolutely the worst Customer Experience I've had in a LONG time. I setup a pickup of my new phone and was also trading in my old phone and wanting to pickup accessories for my new phone. I called Verizon and set it up with a Customer Service Agent because I'm an Over The Road trucker and it's very hard to get into these small place for me. I was told my phone would be there, that I could trade my old phone in and get my accessories and they would have it ready for me when I arrived. I arrived at the store and the employee acted like I was wasting his time (I'm guessing cause he wasn't going to get commission/spiffs) hands me my new phone and starts to walk away, I said "wait" I need to activate it as I haven't paid the $35 activation fee cause I'm paying in cash. He didn't ask me more about the situation and responded very rudely saying, "I don't know who told you $35 but it's $30!" I said, I don't care if it's 30 or 35 I just want to make sure my new phone is activated so I can use it and get the $800 credit for my old phone (the $30 wasn't for line activation, he was quoting me the price to transfer my Data which I didn't need him to do, but because he was a horrible sales associate he didn't ask any questions to try to figure out what I needed and how to help out)... He then says, you mail the phone in! I said, no I explained to the online person I can't do that as I'm a trucker, I want to do it all here and now while I'm here! They then tell me, "You don't have an Appointment! it was just an pickup" No Customer Service at all, if I was a new customer and they were getting commission and spiffs they would've gone above and beyond, but because I'm an existing customer I guess I'm lesser in value to them... Why wasn't an appointment made in my behalf by the online person when I stated everything I wanted to do that day? If I needed to make an Appointment, why wasn't I informed that by the online person? Verizon is just like all the other big companies, they put quotas on their employees, sell shit online then the customer gets shit on cause they store employee is worried about making a quota, NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE, so ya, I have a $1200 S22 Ultra now with no case or screen protector cause I didn't have an Appointment...... What a JOKE!!!! This was at the Clackamas Oregon location! Go elsewhere for you products, as soon as they hook you, they throw you into the pool to be neglected, you do not feel as though you are a valued customer! What a great B-Day gift for myself...... :( The thing that's really sad is I'm a 17 year customer and get treated like this after purchasing a $1200 phone through them. Went in to get an assistant with a Bluetooth telephone issue I had already had an appointment at a prior store and they said they don't and aren't allowed to go outside and work on customers phones outside of the store anyways so 2nd stop at the Clackamas promenade store on Sunnyside road the young lady who said she was one of the managers told me she too is not allowed to go outside of the store to work on any phones of their customers very rude I don't know what happened to Verizon but two stores within an hour of each other and totally rude holding me not willing to help a customer out I've been a customer for over 30 years and I'm done A friendly customer came over to me and told me where to go and unlike this Verizon store I left the place he told me where to go 3 minutes at that place I was up and running feeling very valued as a human being the young lady at Verizon did not want to BE bother with me did not want to even deal with me DID not care what I had to say thank you I will be looking for cell service somewhere else and save a lot of money I'm sure read more

I went to purchase a new phone yesterday and was told, I can't sit down with you my boss won't let me. You need to make an appointment and come back. No problem, made an appointment for today and came back to transfer everything to my new phone. The process took around an hour and the girl helping me went to help another customer while I was waiting for the phone to finish. She then came back to help me and was yelled at in front of everyone by her manager that she needed to help another customer out and that I had plenty of time already. She basically berated me and her employee who was obviously embarrassed. I am a health care worker and have hardly any days off lately. To be treated this way while coming in on one of my few days off is unacceptable. To treat anyone like this is. I will be filing a formal complaint. Treat your customers and staff better. read more

Beware this store. I just found out I was completely duped by a salesperson last November 2015. Shame on this store for practicing sales techniques that take advantage of its customers. I had gone to pick up my iPhone 6 upgrade at the store. When I was there, the salesperson helping me let me know I could either get the iPhone 6 or I could get the iPhone 6 and bundle it together with a bunch of accessories for about the same price to buy only the iPhone 6. When I asked what the catch was, the salesperson assured me there was no catch and that this was simply an in-store promotion that allowed her to bundle together accessories at a fraction of the cost because I was buying the iPhone. So I get the accessories. Shame on me for being so gullible to think this salesperson wasn't trying to screw me over. Flash forward eleven months. I'm on a family plan and my dad calls to ask if I bought a new phone. I tell him no, the last phone I bought was back in November 2015. He tells me he's seeing a monthly phone payment on my line. I call today to explain to Verizon what the situation is and to ask for help. They let me know that because I didn't catch this mistake within 14 days and because they have a contract that apparently has my signature on it, that there's nothing they can do for me. Which I know is not true -- as a customer service professional, there is always something a business can do to rectify the situation. I get it now, Verizon. This is what you do to your loyal, enthusiastic customers. You take advantage of their excitement, misrepresent the terms of the customer agreement, and fail to rectify a situation because you're no longer obligated to. ZERO STARS IF I COULD. Bye bye Verizon!! My family has been a loyal Verizon customer for 14 years. We are currently paying $340 per month for 4 phones and a tablet with 20gb data available monthly. My phone upgrade eligibility is due in 13 days. Sadly I dropped by Galaxy S5 and the screen shattered. Sharp glass edges. I went to Verizon to see if they would allow me to upgrade less than 2 weeks early since we have been customers for 14 years and the renewal was so close. I was told no. They would not work with me at all. I explained that this is a phone that I use for business but that did not matter to them. We went to T Mobile and we will get more gb's with no risk of overages. Free streaming of music and movies without impacting the data usage. T Mobile will pay up to $650 per phone to pay off any balance for the phones, which is more than is owed on any of them. We will save over $100 per month with no need to sign a lengthy contract. Screw you Verizon. If you want customer loyalty you should treat your customers with a little more respect. Your plans are antiquated and too expensive. You just lost a loyal 14 year customer. Nice work. read more

What a shitshow. I recently switched back to the Dark Side (iPhone) and purchased a case and tempered glass screen protector along with the phone. The lady who checked me out applied the screen protector and I was in and out in 15 minutes - they were about to close in another half hour so I was glad not to have tied them up. That's when it began to go downhill. The first thing I noticed when I got home and played with my new phone was my $24.99 screen protector was put on crooked. You can't peel off and fix those things. Additionally, not the store's problem, but the glass protector for the 6 was manufactured slightly too narrow, so I also got halos at the side and couldn't use one of my apps that needs ALL of the screen. Thank goodness for that 14-day return policy right? Nope. When I came in the next day the extremely bitchy girl that I first talked to said it couldn't be returned because it was used. I talked to a manager who confirmed what she said so I threw the useless protector in their trash and went on my way, figuring it was a lesson learned. However, Verizon is doing this thing where they text you for comments and concerns after your purchase. Before the useless store experience described above, they texted me and I described my complaint but got no response. The day after my return was rejected in-store, they text me back saying a return on the protector is no problem even if it's applied (just can't be broken) and ask me to come in and speak to Justin the next day to process the return. I'd love to, but the screen protector is now in Verizon's trash from yesterday and they refuse to accept a return without a physical product to return, even after I describe the situation. "Shall I ask to dig through the store's trash," I ask them? I call customer service because I'm getting nothing but frustration from the store and they quickly agree to process a credit but ask me to go back to the store for them to issue it, since that's who got my money for the item. They note my account so the store knows what's going on and I immediately head in. Surprise, surprise - this ridiculous store refuses to process my credit even after reviewing the notes on my account. My favorite quote from Michael (manager on duty) is "I don't know who you talked to on the phone and regardless they can't tell me what to do here. This store has rules! We won't get any money back from the manufacturer!" I ended up awkwardly calling back Verizon phone support from the store to explain that the store refused to help me, as the manager stood in front of me continuing to be useless. I got my money back as a courtesy direct from Verizon, but were the multiple trips to the store, texts and calls worth the $24.99? Nope. I'll be taking my cell business to a different location from now on. read more

I was recently laid off by my former employer, and they allowed me to keep my corporate phone. I took that working phone into the Verizon store in Clackamas, Oregon on Wednesday, March 16th and handed it to the dude with the red beard. When he added me to my family's plan, he handed me back my phone with a promise that it'd be up and running in five minutes. It hasn't worked since. I came back to the store an hour later to have them take a look at it. Redbeard suggested that I reset my network settings, so I did. That didn't help, so we took out the sim card, turned the phone off, put the sim card back in, and turned the phone back on. No luck. He checked the network settings on his handy-dandy Verizon tablet thingie, and said "Everything looks good on our end, I'm not sure what the problem is. I'll call tech support." So he did. Tech support suggested that I reset my network settings, so I did. That didn't help, so we took out the sim card, turned the phone off, put the sim card back in, and turned the phone back on. No luck. The tech checked the network settings on his handy-dandy Verizon tablet thingie, and said "Everything looks good on our end, I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe you should call [former employer] and have them check." I called my former employer, and they checked their settings. They found an issue, fixed it, and sent me a note on Thursday that my phone was ready to be activated. I called Verizon, and they activated my phone, and it turned ON! I made a test call, and I heard the dulcet tones of the Verizon lady telling me that my phone was connected to the network. A neat little popup box blinked on my phone, letting me know that I was activated. I checked the news on my phone's browser, and it popped up. Success! Then, blink and the phone deactivated an hour later. I called tech support. "Strange," they said. Let's try resetting your network settings. (I did, no luck). "Have you tried turning your phone off, removing the sim card, putting it back in, then turning your phone on?" (Sure, no luck.) "Hmm, lemme look at our network settings. Yep, everything looks good on our end." Over the next few days, that process repeated itself a few times, but each time the phone would turn back off. We left for our vacation, and I stopped at Verizon stores across Oregon to see if they could help. They reset my network settings, and pulled out my sim card a bunch, but nothing worked. The phone hasn't seen life since. On Monday, I stopped in a Verizon store and they promised me a replacement phone. The rep I spoke with (on the phone inside the store) promised me a new phone, asked me to call him later in the day. I did, and he replied with a text -- "I'm off work, I'll take care of it tomorrow." On Tuesday, I texted good ol' Reggie, excited to have a new replacement phone on the way. Reggie didn't answer. He didn't answer on Wednesday either. Wednesday afternoon, I sent good ol' Reggie a note to let him know how disappointed I was, then called tech support. They asked me to reset my network settings. Wow, it worked! (Just kidding, it didn't.) By Thursday, I'd wasted the bulk of my vacation on the phone with Verizon. Thousands of dollars down the drain. I lost opportunities for interviews because I was missing texts and calls. Thursday afternoon, I finally got ahold of a rep who told me he could overnight a replacement phone to my hotel if I would pay the $12.95 for expedited shipping. I let him know what I thought about that, and he told me he'd do me a big favor and have Verizon pay for the shipping. Thanks, dude. Minutes later, got an email from him -- order placed, phone is on its way, will be there in the morning. I woke up this morning, and checked the tracking number. The phone is in Fort Worth, Texas. I'm on the Oregon coast. Hours on the phone later, I've escalated up several layers of Verizon support to let them know that there's a replacement phone in a Verizon store minutes away from my hotel. They won't let me do that though, they have to mail me a phone. Four days from now. They're very sorry. If your kids like sitting on the floor in corners of stores listening to techs talk on the phone, I strongly recommend the Verizon vacation plan. There are convenient stores located across the nation where you can spend time playing on tablets instead of going to the beach. I also strongly recommend the representatives who make excuses about "corporate policy." Their humor is impeccably timed as well. I should be used to taking reviews with gargantuan grains of salt, but it still amazes me how many people review a place terribly simply for doing what one would expect them to do ... you had to wait at a sit-down restaurant? It took more than 5 minutes to set up a complex 2-year wireless agreement? "Intolerable!" Yeesh. I was pleasantly surprised to see how competent and helpful a bunch of people obviously on commission could be. Everything I asked for I got, in a decent time frame. Went to the store to ask questions about my plan, thinking I might make some changes. The employee checked my plan and told me of a 'deal' being offered to me right now. I wasn't clear on what price and plan offerings he had given me compared to what I had, so asked if there was anything written down. The answer was no, or, go on line. I asked if I could see it on his I-pad and he became quite rude and belligerent. His whole manner was unfriendly, rude or arrogant throughout our interaction. I notice others have made this type of comment recently, with the business manager responding, " we pride ourselves on being courteous and attentive". Ha! Domino, you're wonderful. That was her real name, and after a lengthy discussion of how she got her name (her parents loved Thunderball), she replaced my crapulent phone. I popped in earlier in the week to complain about my phone and it's myriad problems, Domino said "I'll update the software, but it'll take 45minutes". Rushed for time, I couldn't do it. So I came back days later and she said, "I remember you!" 45 minutes and some Clackamas Promenade shopping later I returned to a whole new shiny LG with all my contacts switched over. Signed up for service and picked out a new phone at this store not too far from my home (Sunnyside Rd/162nd Ave) in February 2018. Felt like I was entering a frat club. The place was oozing "Team Verizon." The young man I was paired with (We'll just call him "Gaston.") was brimming with confidence. I, on the other hand, had a fair share of questions and would've preferred a root canal over comparing phone carriers and cell plans. I was comforted by the protection of Verizon's 14-day guarantee. He rushed me thru the process and I left relieved to be done with it, but with a sense of foreboding. The problems began the moment I got home. Once teethered, a movie would stop/start and finally abandon efforts to buffer. Text messages would sporadically not send out. Calls would randomly drop. The next day I sought help. I discovered an even closer Verizon location. This fellow checked a coverage map and determined I live in a Verizon dead zone. Said he knew "Gaston" and was surprised he signed me up. Assured me he'd speak with him as he should have known better. Back at square one, I faced the daunting task of researching an alternate carrier/plan. I spoke on the phone with a Verizon CSR who reached out to Gaston's store and paved the way for the return of my device. She told me and wrote in her notes that given my circumstances the $35 restocking fee would be waived. After arranging for new service, I came back the next weekend to return my device. Gaston made no apologies for the inconvenience he caused. In fact, he demanded I pay the restocking fee before he would accept the new phone I was returning. I told him customer care was waiving the $35, but he refused to take it. He said I would have to take it up with them and they could issue me a refund. I felt I had no other choice and gave him my credit card. The following months consisted of many long calls to Verizon's CS department where I would explain repeatedly what had transpired. They responded repeatedly with false promises...telling me to look for a refund check in the mail. The statement still arrives monthly showing a credit balance. Fast forward to today (July 29, 2018), they now say they are "unable" to issue a refund check or credit my card. It's been five months. I wish I would have disputed the $35 with Chase Bank. Alas, 90 days have passed and I no longer have a recourse via Chase. Hindsight truly is 20/20. I believed Verizon would do the right thing. I was wrong--and they lack integrity.
