I was almost certain I killed my MacBook Pro when I spilled an entire mug of coffee on it. I took it to the Apple Store and they simply confirmed what I already knew: that my Mac was soaked in coffee and possibly damaged. They wanted over $700 to fix it. I called around to other places and everyone wanted at least $150 just to open and clean it, and in some cases, an extra $100 for diagnostic fees in addition to possible repair costs. When I called Computer Love Matt told me to bring it in and he'll clean it right away and assess its possible damage for $40. After cleaning it Matt ran tests to make sure it was functioning normally and found that it completely survived the coffee deluge and was in good order. I got my computer back without paying for services that I didn't need thanks to Matt. He was professional, honest and more than fair in charging me just the cleaning fee without any hassles. Made an account just for this. Literally a few hours ago today my three month old Asus ROG laptop made an alarmingly loud popping noise and then suddenly went totally black. A few seconds later the bottom heat up to an alarming degree and I started to smell burnt plastic. Though I did call Asus and end up sending it in for repairs first, I decided to stop by at Computer Love as well as after ten minutes the heat had not gone down at all and the bottom of the computer was untouchable. At no charge the guy diagnosed it as a blown capacitor and helped me unplug the battery from the bottom of the machine, as it was likely it could have blown up or singed other components during the mailing process. He even let me use the printers at the store to print out the RMA forms and was patient and helpful the entire time. If I do build a computer later just to avoid this awful hassle this is the place I'll be going to for help, thanks Computer Love! read more

I reached out to Matt, the owner, from across the country, as I live in Florida. I knew that Matt was extremely knowledgeable about computers from an online community that we both frequent. I wanted to have a computer built to certain exact specifications, and he was able to locate someone in my town who could execute my order. He provided me a detailed list of componants that I should request, and also gave me the amount that such a build should cost, in case they tried to take advantage of me. Everything went wonderfully, and the computer is screaming fast. If I was in the Seattle area, I would have walked into his store, but I wanted to have it built locally in case of any issues or unexpected breakdowns. But if I wouldn't have been able to get it made to my requirements locally, I would have naturally have had Matt build it for me, and then ship it cross country. This place is great!! I went in with my computer with a strange problem that I had tried to fix myself but made it worse. I didn't bring in my printer which he needed to see what I was seeing and to fix it. But he didn't turn me away and told me to comeback in a little bit he would see what he could do. I came back with the printer but he had already fixed it. He was great and totally nice to my daughter. He saved the day I need this computer to print which it wasn't for my daughters school. I was nervous to come to a repair shop after my last experience with one but this one is awesome and would totally recommend it to anyone. They are not there to rip you off like other shops! And Matt totally rocks!! He saved the day when I was so stressed he helped me so much! And even gave me a tip for saving more money with a different printer. Very happy with the customer service and knowledge of the tech. I am visiting Seattle and while surfing on my laptop, the WiFi suddenly stopped working. It was definitely my laptop, all other devices were OK. I'm not lost around computers but after 2 hours of trying to fix it, I gave up. Caught the train to Computer Love (close by light rail and LINK). The tech really didn't have time but gave it a go. He wasn't successful right away and offered to try to fix it later in the day. He did give me some hints on what it might be (besides all the stuff I had already tried). The computer is more important than the WiFi, so I took it with me. He wouldn't take money for his time. I sat down in a nearby coffee shop and after another hour or so, had connection again. While he didn't fix it, he deserves as much as credit as the guy sitting in front of the keyboard when it was finally fixed. I would definitely bring problems to them again. read more

So, my 2008 17" MacBook Pro died and I brought it in to Computer Love...a local and very nearby service that I discovered here on Yelp to be highly rated...oh, joy! I was hopeful to get my problem diagnosed and fixed, data saved. Matt and his crew quickly identified the problem to be a burned out motherboard and, to my surprise, suggested not to get it fixed. He said he could and would be happy to charge me for it, but recommended I would be better served by purchasing another computer, all things considered. Look, the diagnosis was free -- and Matt suggested I not spend hundreds of dollars with on the services that Computer Love provides to get it fixed, even though it could have been. These facts combined with his willingness and availability to consult on the phone and in-person prompt me to recommend these guys highly! Competence and trustworthiness go hand in hand! read more

Well, this is my second time going to Computer Love. But first I must tell you. that I did go to another shop. I'm not going to tell you the name, But its near the elevator, I took my Sony Vaio with the crack screen in, and asked the guy there, how much would it cost to fix it, He looked at it, and said $500.00. I was not shock at all, I did it just to see how much he would say. I had NO plans at all for him to fix my computer, Anyway I took it to Computer Love, And they did a great job. They fixed my crack screen, It was as good as the day that I got it. And I didn't pay $500.00. I had cracked the glass on my laptop screen and kept waiting to go get it fixed, not wanting to be away from my laptop since I am a student and use it quite often. I explained my computer's problem over the phone with Computer Love and arranged for an evaluation in person the same day, once the part arrived the work was done in less than two hours. These guys have been super helpful on a number of occasions. Once my laptop graphics card broke. Having just heard from another customer about a newly established recall program through Apple for my make/model, Matt directed me to get it replaced there for free, instead of advocating that I get it fixed through him for $100. He could've just as easily withheld that info and taken the business for himself, but he was honest and looking out for my best interests. Matt is amazing! I had spam/virus ravage my email to the point where I was no longer receiving any emails. 80% of my job revolves around communication through email, so this was a major problem! I called Computer Love and talked with Matt to see if he had any ideas. He spent 15 minutes trying to help me over the phone and then I took my laptop in for him to take a look in person. I am cautious (and with average knowledge) when it comes to my computer. I handed it over for a DVD-RW Drive replacement and an operating system custom upgrade (Vista to 7). Computer Love should be everyone's "go-to" computer repair company! I had an issue with trying to get my printer to work. Matt made a house call, was here for an hour & tried everything. Turns out my printer was fried & he charged me very little. Next I got a trojan virus. Tried all the fixes on-line until I asked him what to do. Things were going haywire on my husband's laptop. We had just moved to Capitol Hill, my husband fell and broke his hip, and it was a very bad day. I saw the Computer Love sign, wandered in with the laptop, and within 24 hours had the computer back, refreshed and good as new. There was a different glitch with email, and, knowing our situation, Matt visited our apartment and had it fixed in five minutes. I went to Computer Love after I spilled coffee on my laptop keyboard. Two keys werent working and after a free diagnosis (which took less than a business day), Matt told me that the keyboard would need replacing but everything else is good. Even with a gaming laptop, which is time consuming to take apart, I paid a reasonable $100 for labor to get it replaced in two hours from when i dropped it off. As a college student with a limited budget, I appreciated the quick service, honesty and affordable hourly fee. read more

My Mac got a little bit of water under the power button and refused to stay on. They completely cleaned it, then replaced the entire keyboard and it still wouldn't work. They did everything they could, and since it didn't get better, they didn't charge me. As a college student, that was the biggest blessing. I was still able to give them some compensation, but focus on buying a new computer. I will go to them for all of my computer problems, and aggressively recommend them to everyone. read more

I had dropped off an external hard drive that I was hoping to recover data from. They were very friendly and tried everything to recover my data, but unfortunately the drive was in pretty bad shape and they weren't able to do so. I still wanted the drive back but with school, work, and moving I had completely forgot about it. This group is awesome! They helped me out about a year ago when I spilled liquid on my laptop and panicked that I had destroyed it. I just got a new laptop and took it in today because I tried to plug in my stereo speakers in the wrong outlet and bent the outlet that the charger plugs into. Don't know about their service, but I am tired of seeing them SPAM the computers "by owner" section of craigslist. They post crap ads with no info other than a vague description of some dell they have for sale. The post EVERY DAY too, which is also against the rules. Is it so hard to post "by dealer" and write a REAL AD for an actual product? I wouldn't give them my business. If they have no respect for Craigslist rules, why should I trust them with my computer? read more
