The food is good, but customer service needs improvement. This was our first time visiting, and the process was not clearly explained. When we arrived, an employee welcomed us and started cleaning a table, so we assumed we were supposed to sit and wait. No one told us we needed to get in line to order. As the place became busy, we noticed a long line had formed. When we asked the employee, she told us we needed to stand in line--even though we arrived before at least 10 other groups. We explained it was our first visit, and while it wasn't a big issue, clearer guidance would have helped. I recommend either having a sign explaining the ordering process or having employees clearly tell first-time customers how it works. Also, it would be helpful to display the full menu on the screens. We noticed additional menu items only after we had already ordered. Overall, the food is good, but better communication and training would improve the experience. I enjoy supporting small businesses. Came to try it out. Nice place, staff looked happy, lots of friendly chatter. Only complaint is ordered a hot Cafe de Olla but it was way too watery. Very fun environment, colorful and cheery with plenty of places to sit. And the food was so delicious. I got a torta de Jamón and the bread was so fresh and the whole samdwich was fresh every ingredient on its own was delicious and came together into a very delicious sandwich. My partner got a Chorizo burrito that was delicious as well. Both of our lattes were perfectly made as well. I will be coming back here again for sure! read more

And to wait a long time for anything you order. Seats are first come first serve. We ordered a blt, huevos divorcionados, jr French toast and 2 espressos The blt came out first, was basic I think it was 12$. Not worth it. The heuevos divorcionados came next, kinda bland and comes with watery gross beans. They were cold, nothing crispy, nothing special. Jr French toast came out after, was literally white bread with a couple berries thrown on the plate. Lastly, after 40 mins when we first ordered, and after all the food came out, the coffee was called. I actually had to get up to ask about to the coffees. Coffee was good strong flavorful, at this point I was so underwhelmed and annoyed I didn't care. I know they're new but whole experience felt unorganized. Food was okay but not worth 68$. Cafe Aroma is right across the street for 1/3 the price for a coffee and a big breakfast sandwich. The dining part also disappointing Just loud ass music, a lil dirty, and flies everywhere. The huevos and French toast both had hair in them First hair I was like ok Then there was a hair at the bottom of the French toast that sent me over the edge. New restaurant get it together? That's hella not okay. Whole experience was rough wouldn't spend a dime here again. Seating is first come, first served, and we waited about 30 minutes for a table. Once we sat down, the food came out pretty fast -- but that's probably because it didn't have flavor. I ordered an omelet that came with beans and breakfast potatoes. The beans were super watery, and the omelet tasted like it had been diluted with way too much milk. My friend got the creamy chipotle chilaquiles ($13), added carne asada for $7, avocado for $3, and even got charged $1 for requesting her eggs over medium -- almost $24 total. She said it wasn't anything special. I got an iced Mazapán coffee which was good not too sweet and not too bitter but again nothing special. 1 thing I will say all the employees were very nice. The real problem was how many flies were inside. But the worst part was when my friend noticed a cockroach fall on my chest after we finished eating. I flicked it off, and it landed on our table. Owners / management are not managing the shop - customers ordering dine-in and not having a place for them to sit due and have three tables reserved for over 45 min - to an hour while customers are standing. One customer asked if they could sit at the reserved tables and they would leave when the party arrived - the employee responded they could not do that, the employee also stated they did not know when the people that reserved the table would be arriving. That is a great way to loose business - maybe the owners should take a page out of other well established busy restaurants- I have never been able to make a reservation without a time and or parameters regarding time limits on reservations Would recommend the sweet bread / pastries as long as you have time to spare , because it's takes longer than it should to order Would not recommend the breakfast. Plate presentation is well done, the food presentation does not match the taste not worth the money Coffee is good but not worth the wait and regardless if you tell them you would like your drink HOT they serve it a bit past warm - I think the quality is suffering due to staff that cannot keep up with the crowd so they cut corners to get drinks out and quality is suffering. When they first opened I could understand the wait , new staff etc , but the drinks were hot and the quality was very good - that went to the waist side Over all I will not be back anytime soon, the wait is unnecessarily long, staff at register not very friendly nor look happy, and owners allowing food to be sold to customers for sit-down dinning with no place to sit is ridiculous. Well, for three individuals who are particular when it comes to meals (quality of meats/ingredients, the use of spices/ratio), the three of us weren't disappointed. Dishes with just enough spice to taste a bit of heat, yet not too overbearing that you couldn't enjoy the meal. The one thing that I did not like was that regular black coffee did not have refill and they had a long line to buy another one. I finished my food without coffee . I ended up getting a brown sugar shaken espresso with almond milk and a chorizo burrito. My bestie, she got a pina colada refresher and carne asada skillet. Both of our drinks were good, and very tasty. My burrito was great, but as for the skillet, once you moved the egg (which was paper thin and super dry)... looked like something's missing. Tried this place a few times since it opened and I can honestly say very very welcoming and great vibe for sure . Only problem for us is when we go food isn't really consistent with taste and quality. Sometimes it's great sometimes bread is too hard and taste just different . I'm specifically referring to the torta . I had to order it twice to see if it was the same and it was not . Also someone on the counter needs to speak English and Spanish I asked for a blended drink and got it iced . FOOD: The food is satisfying. Great portions, seasoned, and cooked well. The menu truly sticks to the Latin flavors from coffee, refreshers, pastries, to plated dishes. There is nothing on the menu that makes me want to drive back for a specific dish however, if I want a place that will make good brunch and will satisfy my craving, its con azucar. There was 4 of us and we each ordered a breakfast dish and coffee, the price was not bad at all. A little over $100 including tip. I got the dulce de leche latte which was way too sweet for me. I am someone who prefers coffee on the sweeter end, and that drink was way too sweet for me. I would recommend cutting out a few pumps if you want it more balanced. The brown sugar shaken espresso was delicious and perfectly well balanced. It almost tasted like a bit of horchata. You can taste the spice of the cinnamon. Highly recommend. SERVICE: Overall the timeliness of receiving food was quick. Within 15-20 minutes of ordering plated food and drinks. The food was nice and hot. Looked very presentable, and it made you hungry. A HUGE downside however, that will keep me from dining in was the lack of dine in experience. It would make sense to receive a number, and be seated at a table by a server, after being asked if we want our items to go or dine in. At Con Azucar that is not the case. The tables are first come first serve once you receive a number. If you choose to order dining in, be prepared to have plates of food be brought to you in your hand because there are no tables available. From what I was seeing, most customers were enjoying their drinks at the tables or waiting for their drinks and not eating. This made it hard for customers who ordered food to dine in. Where are you supposed to eat with your glass ceramic plates in hour hand and no table? We finally managed to snag a table that was meant for 2 and not 4. They brought out the food however we had to inform them to pack it all to go. There was no way to eat any of it. No space, no chairs, no room. It was a big let down as we wanted to enjoy the ambiance. We also had to bag our own food at the end of it. AMBIANCE: I enjoyed the cultural art work, the tile, chairs, and light fixtures. Overall it was a pleasant, bright, fun space. Their menu offered a wide range of selection however it was a bit hard to read as the menu itself was busy for my eyes. I would have appreciated a more clean and simple look. There was a swing and a feature picture wall. I love the idea of a viral picture moment however, they could have added a bunch more seating in replace of that. Also, it would have helped in separating customers who are dining in vs just relaxing and waiting. Would I go there again? YES! To go for pickup.
