    Cute place

We were in the area needing to charge our car and eat dinner. There's a charging station right next to this cute place .... Perfect. I ordered a grilled beef banh mi and egg roll. The prices are amazing .... Shocking in this economy. I was super excited to try their version of my favorite Sammy. They are very generous with the meat and vegetables!!! That was a plus. I will say the roll is too bready and we ate it from the top (like you would corn) instead of from the ends for that reason. Also, it was a bit dry.... More spread, please. The egg rolls were delish tho. And I would def go back if in the area . I'm sorry I don't have pics of the two items as we were I Eating in the dark car while charging.

I've eaten a fair amount of VietNamese food, from Philadelphia to Orlando to San Jose. San Jose has the best VietNamese food in the country. In Manteca, there are a few choices and none lately have been good for me, so I have high hopes for this restaurant. As this was the first day, things were not as well coordinated as they will be later. I saw plenty of people working the dining room and taking food to the tables. It's a very large dining room and I expected that all of the tables would be occupied, even around 3 in the afternoon. Someone arrived at the front desk but he was busy. It took a bit. When he got to me, he looked and told me to sit at the second table. I did exactly that, but he wasn't exactly friendly. First day jitters I guessed that he was having. Someone came to the table with the menu and he reminded me of the martial artist Bolo Yeung from the 1980s. He asked if I wanted ice water but I replied "iced tea". These days, getting typical, old-style iced tea might be difficult. I looked around the place and the worn floor seemed to have been replaced and everything from the floor to the ceiling looked great. In a few minutes, he was back with the tea. He asked if I was ready to order, but he didn't have his pad. He returned quickly. I ordered a couple of things I'd never had: Banh Mi Nuong Hai San (Shrimp toast) and Com Tom Nuong (rice and grilled shrimp). The prices seemed very reasonable, especially since another place seemed to be charging for the renovations. After a while, the grilled shrimp dish arrived and some dipping sauce. I had almost finished my iced tea by then. I asked about the appetizer and that took a while longer. Everything I tried was prepared well and good, but the shrimp toast was not something I'd order again. I'll probably try everything else on the menu anyway. The curry looked especially good. I liked the food, but there was not much and my final total, even with an 18% tip only came to $22.84. I will buy more food next time. Staff was helpful, but with it being the first day, things didn't go exactly the way anyone hoped, I'm sure. I needed more to drink, whether it was tea or water. I appreciate the first day confusion. I have a feeling they'll be fine. Try to ignore the misspellings on the menu. They have a lot to offer.

food was so yummy! the beef stew was especially delicious, even with the baguette! the food also came out fairly quickly and hot! service was amazing. also, their egg coffee, is definitely in my top 5 faves! we were coming back from yosemite and this was a very good meal to have afterwards

    Menu as of 3.29.26

Came in on a Sunday 3.29.26 evening at 6ish and there was a crowd dining. I came in with a party of 4 and got seated. Looking through the menu, everything looks good. When it's time to order, the waitress tells me there's no Pho (if I wanted to wait 20minutes) , no bun Bo hue (spicy beef noodle), anything that's grilled pork are out. I was like WTPho! How do you come in a "pho" restaurant and no pho. So what did I order: Appetizers- chicken wings with fish sauce and crab Rangoon- chicken was tough & crab had no flavor of crab. *Grilled chicken rice place with shredded pork skin, steamed egg and salad and comes with a small side bowl of soup broth *Grilled beef rice plate with shredded pork skin and comes with small side bowl of soup broth *mi thap cam soup - egg noodle soup. Food came out quick but only to have Rice was super dry Chicken was super dry with no flavor Beef was super dry with no taste Egg noodle was thick like udon which wasn't expected. Overall, my family and I did not enjoy my dinner meal- were so disappointed with the taste and quality of the food. Would I come back- not really and if I did, I would try out the pho or bbh. Service was friendly and attentive though.

Com bo luc lac (shaking beef)

I read some of the reviews and saw a few negative ones, so I was a bit hesitant at first. But since I love Vietnamese food, I decided to give it a try. I ordered the cơm bò lúc lắc (shaking beef), and it was delicious! The beef was very tender, and the portion was pretty big (at least for me). I think they just opened, so they might need a little more time to get everything perfect. But the service was really nice. My friend ordered the phở (I didn't get a picture), and she said the broth was amazing. I also got some broth on the side, and it was so good--definitely different from other Vietnamese restaurants. You guys should definitely give this place a try!

    Egg rolls

I recently stopped in Manteca to charge my EV and accidentally discovered a newly opened spot called Pho Viet Kitchen--and I'm so glad I did! I ordered pho for my husband and daughter, and beef stew (bò kho) for myself. The pho was absolutely delicious. The broth was cooked perfectly, rich, and full of authentic flavor. You can really taste the care that goes into it, and the meat quality was excellent. The bò kho is also a must-try. For those who enjoy traditional Vietnamese style, the combination of tendon and brisket adds great texture and keeps the dish from feeling too heavy. But if you prefer not to have tendon, just let the staff know--they're more than happy to customize your order, and they do it with an incredibly friendly attitude. I also highly recommend the appetizers--especially the egg rolls and shrimp tempura. My daughter loved them so much she asked for extra...twice! The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive. The restaurant itself is newly opened, so it's spacious, clean, and comfortable. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared. I'll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area!

While the flavors don't compare to some of the best in the Bay Area. What we tried was well seasoned and prepared . The service was prompt and very friendly. Nothing too fancy about the decor and was very clean and pleasant. This was a reasonably priced meal that we enjoyed and would have again

Does this place have chili oil? When we asked for some to go with our pho, they brought out a dark paste?

Yes, just have to ask them and they will bring it out it's more of a chili paste then the normal chili oil

Pho broth was good, calamari was hard, as if the oil used was old or over cooked. Spicy chicken wings were drenched with sauce. The worst dish was the chow fun, my daughter took her first bite and said it tasted old. I had to taste it and the noodles were disgusting. Tasted like it was leftovers and prepared in a microwave. I walked in at 10:30am and was immediately asked "to go?" by a lady standing at the register. I replied that I wanted to dine in and was told that there was a big order so they were only taking to go orders. The restaurant was completely empty since they only opened at 10am. I read other people on Yelp sharing similar reviews but at later times in the day so I thought maybe they were isolated incidents, but apparently this is only a to-go only establishment at this point. If you plan on dining in, I'd suggest going to a different restaurant in the area for your Pho craving which is what I did. The place that I ended up at was packed with people when I got there at around 11am but they gladly served us some great food. Very disappointed in this experience.

Mind you they're open until 9:00. First time trying to eat here, and not a great impression. I try not to go to restaurants in their last half hour of service so I thought that with close over an hour away, I'd be ok. In case you didn't know, getting pho to go is cumbersome because I still have to reheat the broth at home and assemble everything in a bowl. I just wasn't in the mood to cook at all. Maybe I'll give this place another chance but I'll be sure to get there many hours before close to have a chance at being able to sit in and eat. I instead went all the way to Tracy to go to my usual spot (Saigon) and was sat right away at about 8:07 pm.

It wasn't quite what I'm used to--the meat wasn't the typical stew cut and had more fat and gristle, with only a few pieces of beef. It wasn't my favorite, but the broth itself had good flavor. It also came with rice noodles, carrots, and even a couple pieces of lettuce, which was a bit different. Looking around, other dishes coming out looked really good. One of the few things that have going for them is that they are cheap. I feel like $11+ tax for a grilled chicken rice plate is unheard of these days.
