This place lives up to the hype. I ordered the Burrito de Mama (with chorizo) and an Americano, and both exceeded my expectations. The burrito was generously sized and packed with cage-free scrambled eggs, roasted bell peppers, refried beans, Oaxaca cheese, and chipotle crema. The chorizo was on point. And the Americano was rich, smooth, and exactly what I wanted with breakfast. Beyond the food, the restaurant has a bright, welcoming atmosphere, an open kitchen, and friendly service. Everything felt fresh, the food came out quickly, and it's easy to see why this place has become a Louisville favorite. Tried to get some breakfast here during a busy volleyball tournament. The menu looked great but the lines were long as it was the only real breakfast restaurant in the area. Situated in a building with taco, coffee, and pasty options...I was really excited to try their chorizo breakfast sandwich. I was 5th in line and it took about 20 minutes to move up 3 spaces. Once I was on deck to order the cashier stepped away to help the person disperse food to customers. After 20 additional minutes I gave up and had to walk away. I think the girl who was distributing orders to customers must have been new, which is understandable, but the overall operations there was terrible. read more

Amazing food and coffee. I would pick the breakfast tacos or any of the breakfast sandwiches because I like the way they tasted and the texture better. I did try the steak sandwich and it was a little hard to eat and the steak was one big piece which made it a little hard to bite through. Coffee is great I would do the coffee with milk and then add just a tiny bit of Honey afterwards for an amazing treat. The sauce option is that come with your food are both very good I like the spicier one better. If you're in the area this is definitely a place to check out for a breakfast or early lunch. read more

I received my subpar sandwich rather quickly, while the gentleman that took my order and looked to be making my coffee was more involved with his conversation with the woman who gave me my sandwich, so I received my coffee 5 minutes after I finished my sandwich. First time in Kentucky. While searching for a breakfast place, this app didn't show me this restaurant. It was through Google maps i saw the name and got my attention. The pictures looked appealing. However, due to scheduling I couldn't go to this place when arriving to KY. It was when heading back to the airport that I had enough time to order food to go. AND WHAT AMAZING SURPRISE IT WAS. The food is amazing, the menu quite appealing. The omni-vore sandwich was delicious, the aoili was superb. The only issue here is that they don't wrap properly a sandwich to go. Part of the sandwich stayed wide open and I couldn't travel with it like this. So I had to eat it on the premises. The chorizo+bacon burrito was perfect. One of the best breakfast burritos I have ever tried. The only things I regret is not ordering and extra burrito. I asked an employee where this chain was from. She said it was owned by Mexican living locally. So my question for the owners is: WHEN ARE YOU OPENING RESTAURANTS IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA. This chain could become the next Chipotle on steroids. I am a huge fan of Con Huevos. I live down the street from the original location and love taking family and friends there when they visit. So when I was downtown today and wanting a quick bite, I remembered the new Con Huevos Craves location inside the Omni's Falls City Market. And I whisked my way over there. I got there at about two minutes to 2 p.m., and despite closing at 2, the clerk was nice enough to take my order. I got the Mex-pert sandwich, which comes with chorizo, avocado, onions, egg and other deliciousness on a brioche bun. The bun was one of my favorite parts of this sandwich. It's soft with some crust on the outside. The chorizo has some kick to it, so be warned. All in all, the components worked really well together. Grab a fork and lots of napkins if you get this, though. It's a bit messy. I also got the cafe con leche, which gave me a bit of a pick-me-up. I wanted something hot because it was so cold outside, but next time, I'll get something cold considering this sandwich was spicy. Con Huevos Craves delivered my sandwich fast, and it was a good lunchtime meal (despite being more of a brunch treat). It's a solid downtown option. read more

I was surprised to see how many businesses in downtown Louisville are closed on Sundays! I ended up here mostly because they were actually open and in the downtown area. They have a few different locations but this one is within the Falls City Market inside the Omni Hotel. The Market is such a cute area that has several different small businesses you can support. This Con Huevos location has a small menu, I went with the Omni-vore breakfast sandwich. The serving size of some of their other dishes is quite large, so I was a little disappointed with the sandwich being on the smaller side. The egg yolk was perfectly runny and the jalapeño aoili went really well with the rest of the ingredients. It seemed like a different bread choice might've gone better with the sandwich flavor. I thought the sandwich tasted good, but it did not settle in my stomach well at all. This rarely happens to me, so I'm not sure what it was. They do offer some coffee options here, but there's also a coffee shop within this market that was open and had more options. Con Huevos had a sign up that it takes 20-30 mins for your order to be ready as everything is made to order, but mine only took about 10 mins. Overall this was a pretty good breakfast spot but I probably would try something else if it was not a Sunday and more cafe options were open. read more

I'm a sucker for con huevos. I try to go whenever I'm in the Lou area and have some time for breakfast/brunch. I was ecstatic to see this location in the Falls City Market as I was in the area and craving one of their breakfast offerings. This is a much more simplified, grab-n-go style setup, unlike their others. This, of course, makes sense given it's in a food hall. I ordered the micros huevos sandwich - brioche buns, scrambled eggs, cheese, and avocado. In theory, the perfect breakfast sandwich. Sadly, something was just "off" about this. It didn't have the full effect that i usually get at con huevos. It's worth noting that the wait time was very long (15 or so min for a breakfast sandwich). They seemed to have 3 staff (two chefs, one front of house) but they needed one or two more to speed up the process. Their condiments were also nearly out of stock and it just needed a quick refresh. Great to see this location in downtown, but hopefully staffing gets taken care of soon (I assume we can blame Covid here)! read more

I was downtown last weekend for a book conference at the Marriott and happened to see this had just opened in the Omni earlier that week. I took the three ladies I meet there are a Louisville treat before they headed back to Virginia and Michigan. The menu is condensed (they don't have the slow roasted potatoes in the mole sauce) but the menu still has a lot of items to choose from. Everyone including myself loved our meals. I got a chorizo and egg burrito, Jenn, Michele and April order these breakfast sandwiches served on buns. Everyone commented on how good their sandwiches were. The location is really cute. It's a large walk-up restaurant, with a table where you can step back and wait for your order to be called. They also have a small seating area, which is nice in case you'd like to eat there. I took my order to go and ate at my office, but they packaged it up nicely for me and even gave me a small to-go cup for hot sauce. Ordered nachos with chorizo, and the eggs sunny side up. Overall, this was... fine. Ballpark nachos they aren't though. They were advertised as "crunchy" but despite being fairly thick nachos they were pliable and 100% needed to be eaten with a fork. They were tasty though. The sunny side up eggs still had a little bit of clear running through the whites... they probably needed to stay on the grill for another 10-15 seconds. The yolks were nice and runny though. The chorizo was nice and flavorful, and the nachos were tasty despite not being crisp and crunchy like advertised. For a quick bite, this place is solid! Well.... I've been eying this place since I got to the Omni. I dinked around so "breakfast" was at 11. I blew my diet and went for pancakes con tres leches and Cuban coffee. I figured I'd never be able to eat it all... I mean 18 for coffee and pancakes?! Do easy, not to huge and the coffee was only 6 ounces. I did not have a waitress as you pick it up at the counter even. Upon checkout your options for tip are 20% or more. Normally that's what I do.... But I didn't have a waitress so a bit excessive? The food was good and I love tres leches instead of syrup. At first I thought the coffee was tiny, but honestly forgot how sweet Cuban coffee is so it wasn't to tiny. Came here for a late breakfast and got the MexPert: Brioche Bun, Chorizo patty, over-medium egg, cheddar, jalapeno aioli, avocado, pickled onion (I got it without the avocado). The sandwich is small, about the diameter of a McDonalds cheeseburger. It comes wrapped in paper but I really wish you were given something a bit more substantial because the egg is runny and between that and the aioli, this sandwich gets messy quick. Its an OK sandwich, nothing I would rush back for, but if you are there and need something quick it will do the job. read more

Today our experience was subpar over a cup of OJ. Polite and empathetic versus passive aggressiveness and short during a time of low foot traffic. Ay carumba. This experience was certainly unforgettable. The breakfast sandwiches looked appetizing, and tasted pretty good at first bite. Piping hot egg, bacon, and cheese on a soft burger-like bun boasting a subtle croissant flavor, but with the consistency and appearance of a hamburger bun. Hubby and I exchanged positive acknowledgments of the flavors and continued to chomp away. On my third bite, chaos ensued in the form of an impressive napalm yolk explosion. Hot, runny egg white and yolk splattered onto my face, into my hair, up my nose, and into my eyes like a bad porn movie. My husband couldn't contain his laughter as I made a snail trail to the bathroom, screaming for a towel, trying not to touch anything. The yolk congealed quickly, going from a searing burn to disgusting, perma-goop that could only be removed with a loofa sanding in the shower. When hubby was able to contain himself and finish his meal without incident, feeling superior to yours truly, his sandwich decided to provide him with a more private and internal adventure, wreaking havoc on his insides. He made a bee-line for the bathroom and got there just in time, subsequently texting me a screaming emoji next to a poop emoji with "Con Huevos" at the end.
