Went for breakfast with a small group. Restaurant was clean and organized. Waitress was slow to attend to us, especially when there was only 4 other people in the place. The location is not that big. Once waitress came over she was friendly. We ordered: Lomo Al Jugo- very good. tamale: Decent. Pan con Chicharron: Good. Overall I would say experience was a 4/5 stars. They need to work on training their wait staff to be attentive, or get an additional employee to help. Food was good to very good. But service was not that good. This little place is right up the road from my apartment and I've always wanted to try it. After dropping off my car at the shop, I walked in on a rainy day. There were no other patrons, just the cook and a waitress. They asked what I was in the mood for -- I never saw a menu. I told them chicken with the green Peruvian sauce and maybe some potatoes. I took a seat near the window and they gave me canchas, which is puffed corn (sort of) - with a little green sauce (aji?) for dipping. Loved it. Then my food came and it was really delicious. Crisp potatoes and chicken breast smothered with spices, with a salad on the side. Next time I go, I may check out the menu, but I was very happy with my custom order! read more

Hole in the wall that peruvians know about. First off, pisco sour is amazing! They also have maracuya sour if you want the fruity taste or beer (cusqueña, cristal) if you're interested. Food is great! For a peruvian, portion size can be better because you will leave your plate clean and not have any food left to take home. They give complimentary cancha as well. I always go for the causa de pollo or the camarones al ajillo. Family goes for the seco de carne, papa a la huancaina and more entrees that have been really good. However, their grilled food (anticuchos,pancita) is decent. Service is good. They don't rush you out and they will take your order even if its about to close because the owner stays afterhours regardless. All in all, a great peruvian spot for drinks and food. read more

great little Peruvian restaurant away from the downtown area. i don't live in this area but when i am here i want to bring back some peruvian food for my family so i stop by here. its in a great location so you don't have to go into downtown and spend 10 minutes looking for parking. i am peruvian so i know the difference between imitation peruvian (made by colombians/ecuadorians etc as it seems to be the case) bs authentic peruvian. i can't say the lomo saltado is the best I've ever had but its close enough and adding the fact of location brings it to a whole 10 on my scale. kids love salchipapas, wife the chicken loom and their hot sauce is good enough to excite your tastebuds and not super spicy to tear you from the inside out on its exit trip. good stuff, been here three times and always fast service and good food, and always manage to find parking! read more

Hidden gem. Small place. Quiet. Food is very good. Been there twice and good has been consistent.

Great taste, fresh food!!! I decided to try a different Peruvian restaurant and so happy I did! The place is a little dark BUT it is welcoming, staff is very nice. Now to what really matters... the food is really good, I had a ceviche mixture and you can taste right away how fresh the seafood is the flavors are all on point. My daughter had her favorite, lomo saltado, and her first words as she took the first bite were "mom this is delicious" so I had to have some ;) beef very juicy fries nice n crispy the flavors were all there! I came to eat here once for breakfast and I thought the food was ok, but it doesn't take a genius to make a peruvian breakfast. I came in a few days ago for lunch because it was close to home and I need something quick. 1 the tables are too small to even just have three people share a meal, 2 the ceviche was raw (and ceviche is raw but it cooks in the lemon juice when done right) and lacked any taste. They charge you for a full plate but serve you like an appetizer. I ordered my son a chaufa de camarones, the waitress messed up the order and gave him a beef chaufa, the beef tasted old and chewy like it had been re-cooked. The service sucked they only have one waitress that takes forever to come to the table, they do not even bring you ice with your cups. I will definitely not be returning to this restaurant, I rather go to chevere, that I would only go as last resort. read more

We had always heard that Peruvian cuisine was excellent so we asked a Peruvian acquaintance where the best food was in our area. He recommended Con Sabor A Peru and he couldn't have been more right. My friend and I shared a cerviche which I admit I was a bit concerned about. It was fabulous. Our wives shared a salad with Peruvian corn, onion and a few other veggies with a dressing that was light and very tasty. I personally knocked off at least two bowls of the complimentary roasted corn and the green sauce. The ladies each ordered the garlic shrimp while the two guys went with the Lomo Saltado--beef with onions and zippy peppers served over fried potatoes and served with a side of white rice. I dumped half a bowl of the green sauce on my rice and my buddy followed suit. It was great. Meanwhile, we both agreed that one order of the Lomo Saltado would have been enough for us to share. That didn't stop us from finished our orders leaving nothing that would fed a flea. The ladies wiped out their shrimp and potato that was served with a creamy garlic sauce before we got to the bottom of the Lomo. We also found that a couple of the Peruvian beers went very nicely with the Lomo Saltado. Service was very good though I will admit that it helped that our friends were fluent in Spanish. I am quite sure that our lack of Spanish would not have been a hindrance in our evening since the young lady waiting on us was comfortable in English. We met the owner when we were leaving and found him to be a friendly and appreciative host. I've been to a lot of excellent restaurants all over the world and have never before written a review on one. But, this place is special. If you go there, be you a gringo like me or a fluent Spanish speaker, you will have a marvelous meal with nice hosts and pay a very reasonable price for the privilege of eating their food! read more

Terrible ! We arrived at about 630 to a half full dining room, all of the empty tables were still dirty from previous guest's. And believe it or not we were sat at a dirty table! At this point my antenna was up. About 10 minutes passed before our waitress asked if we were being helped , when I said no she said OK and walked away only to return to say OK I will help you. Vania asked for an explanation for the whole fried fish menu item and wanted to compare it to the the talapia item , wanting a whole fish she ordered the talapia. When the food came out she was served a skimpy piece of deep fried filet! Objecting with the waitress she apologized and went into the kitchen for an explanation, returning she said I'm so sorry but the whole fish today was Trout and we don't have anymore! None the less not happy or satisfied she took the "Gotta frozen" fried filet. Here is the rub! We could barley make it home fast enough to run to the bathroom where dinner ran even faster straight through us! I came during lunch time around 3pm. We sat in one of the tables and the waitress noticed us after 10 min. She gave us the menu and it took her almost 15 min to come back to the table to take our drinks and she completely forgot to bring the drinks to us. Really??? Anyways, by the time she brought our drinks we were so annoyed by this. We asked for ice and she took another 10 min to bring it to us. RIDICULOUS. By the time she took our orders I was not hungry anymore because she took so long!!!! When she dropped our food I asked for share plates, No Joke it took her another 10 min!!!! You gotta be kidding me. This was the worst service I had in my life!!!! The food is ok but the waitress the works there needs some serious training. NEVER Come back here!!!!! read more

Came here for lunch on a Saturday, we were greeted immediately and shown to our table. We started with the Ceviche mixto which was amazing ! The only thing was that it had a soft shell crab in it, I've never had a Ceviche like that but non the less it was a great portion and even better flavor. I had the Lomo Saltado which is mouth watering deliciousness, as soon as you see it you know it's going to be good and it certainly was! I'm not giving 5 stars because the waitress wasn't attentive to us and didn't even offer us a dessert menu or coffee as per usual after any meal. Other than that this place was great! read more

I called to have food delivered for dinner on a Friday night. I repeated the appetizer I wanted at least 10 times before she understood me. Food delivers here and they are missing our drinks - they forgot them. I get in the house and check the food and they gave me the wrong appetizer. I called to tell them and she pretty much blamed me. She then told me they dont have those appetizers on Friday. There was a similar appetizer $5 more and she refused to give me that one because of the price difference even though she sent me the wrong one and forgot my drinks. Then I find out that they charged me $3 to deliver even though I gave a $4 tip. The driver comes back with my drinks and gives me the money back for the wrong appetizer. Driver was sooooo nice which is why I gave two stars... great driver made up for the other crappy things that happened! read more

My wife, daughter and myself went to this restaurant today for lunch. Small but very clean place. The food was ok. I ordered Seco a La nortena that I really liked. my daughter had the aji de gallina that was terrible, my wife ordered pollo a la plancha that was tough and tasteless. It came with French fries that were fried In way too reused oil. We also ordered ocopa to share. The sauce was really cold and the flavor wasn't what I was expecting, not terrible but not great either. The chicha morada was ok. I live near Delaware where there is a Peruvian restaurant called The Chicken House that has great food. read more

Wow Oh Wow Oh Wow!!!! This restaurant was amazing!!! Their variety of Sea Food was incredible. I had their Ceviche de Pescado and I was shocked of how fresh the fish was. I will definitely go back to try out another one of their many entrees. read more

the best authentic peruvian food in the area. im peruvian and this tastes like the food my grandma used to make. family and i come here at least once a week for breakfast, lunch or dinner. the tallarin saltado is so good i cant even begin to explain. also try the chicken soup(caldo de gallina). idk what they put into that but its liquid gold. and try the arroz chauffa. read more
