As a disabled veteran I was given the option to go to the Concentra Medical Centers. I chose the Irvine location because I thought it was the best location. I probably won't go back there again unless I have no choice. The facility and staff are nice but it's a slow process... for me it worked out to 3 1/2 hours and then they sent the prescriptions to a provider that is not covered... only the VA pharmacy can fill the prescriptions at no charge. At the VA I can usually get in and out in an hour or two at most and feel that I'm valued, so for me I'll only use the VA for my medical needs. read more

If you want to have a miserable day & experience the burning desire to leave a 1 star review today, then Concentra is the place to do that! I came here blindly without reading reviews (to my regret) & all of the negative reviews are correct - this place is unprofessional, depressing, & horrific in customer service. Also, for a place that offers "urgent" care, I felt that it wasn't urgent whatsoever and I was waiting a good 15-20 minutes because apparently only one doctor is on site for this entire facility. Front desk staff are nice, but I had a main issue with the lack of proper treatment & respect from my main doctor and the assistant. The assistant was nice, but a bit unprofessional when she told me abruptly that I had to "wait" to be discharged without any warning on how long it would be. Literally I waited in my waiting room without knowing how long I'd be in there and she eventually said I'm discharged...but what was I waiting for? To make sure I already paid my copay? No other doctor visits ever made me stay for no apparent reason. I have never been trapped like a prisoner at my own urgent care appointment. And don't even get me started on my doctor...she gave me that judgmental "once over" look from head to toe and back over again in silence - just like when one assesses somebody for the first time. She didn't even say hi; she just gave me *that* look and then proceeded to ask me questions. Also, for my entire appointment, it was so weird - she used a half condescending, half *obligatory concerned* voice. I also felt gaslit by her, as she said "I seem fine" multiple times even though I came in worried and anxious about my sudden condition. If I was fine, would I even waste my time being at urgent care? My feelings about my condition (aka the reason for my visit) felt dismissed and I felt very uncomfortable. Eventually, she prescribed me something, but I felt super uncomfortable during my entire appointment. At the end of my appointment after being held captive by one of the staff members, they ironically asked me to leave a review on their service - so here it is, lol. P.S. The walls are so thin you can hear the exact conversation a neighboring patient & the doctor are having - I felt like I was too included into their conversation that I didn't want to hear, so this is another negative keypoint about this location, especially when doctor visits are supposed to be confidential. read more

please reconsider coming here, go anywhere else if you can. i didn't feel safe here, heard, or cared for during my dozen follow-up appts with a doctor, a nurse practitioner, and a physical therapy specialist. after a month, i feel completely stalled with no improvement to my injury, so i've chosen to seek care elsewhere. 0 stars if possible. the wait times are horrendous even if you have appointments, the staff have atrocious bedside manner and lack empathy, and doctors' expertise is highly questionable. exam rooms are tiny, freezing, and some have stained walls and ripped-up chairs, so the environment feels unclean and hazardous. i was forgotten about during one visit, with the doctor strolling in 30mins late saying, "oh, someone's been waiting on me! i didn't know!" (on a subsequent visit for physical therapy, i watched the same doctor walk back and forth in the parking lot for 30+ mins during business hours.) worth noting, there are signs up on all the walls saying aggressive behaviour isn't tolerated and they'll call the police and employer if you upset them. i made sure to stay calm and quiet any time i had questions or feedback for them, even when i was anxious, in pain, and scared--because i was worried they'd call the police if i showed too much emotion. additionally, it's helpful to know that they're an occupational therapy clinic with physical therapy on one side of the building and specialty/medical services on the other; they won't want to see you for an illness like the flu, they'll tell you they're not equipped for that kind of care. read more

I unfortunately ended at this horrible clinic due to an injury worker's comp a few years ago. STAY AWAY from this clinic. They constantly would change my appointments. They obviously are so unorganized. The wait times are absolutely outrageous even with an appointment. The doctor says he is there for you to get better. Please be respectful and polite but remember they ARE NOT for you, no matter what they say. They are for the crooked insurance companies as they get their nice pay from them. The Doctor will give you the very lowest Maximum Medical improvement percentage, so you don't get a big compensation if you have a legal case. Please everyone write down names. times, get copies of everything DO NOT share anything with them aside from your medical treatment. Always hire an attorney. I had DR. If I could give this place negative stars I would. The staff here is wildly incompetent and unprofessional and I will be filing a report to the CA State Medical Board, the BBB, and Concentra's corporate office. I checked in for unexplainable debilitatingly swollen lymph nodes, a fever, shortness of breath, and fatigue. They told me I may not be able to be seen today because of the inundation (or maybe pure incompetence of staff to handle case load appropriately) which was disappointing but expected from a for profit, low value, bottom of the barrel franchise corporation like this. When I was finally taken back I saw Dr. Sunday who told me she had no idea what it could be, ordered blood tests from my PCP (a person who does not exist as I do not have one, but they did not ask) Then sent me to draw blood, a urine test, and a covid instant test. I was then sat back in my room for 3 hours with no update. The "Doctor" never returned or followed up. Then, a nurse I had not spoken to came in and attempted to discharge me with no further information, no diagnosis, no solutions, no follow up appointment- and instead? Just a doctors note that said I was there today and could be excused from work. If any staff, leadership, or ownership from this location comes across this, please know that I mean it sincerely when I say I will make it my mission to close this location and remove you from your role. - Terrible Service, Long Wait Times, and Dishonest Staff This clinic is one of the slowest and most poorly managed I've ever been to. Despite having plenty of front desk staff, they move incredibly slow and are not friendly at all. Meanwhile, only one nurse practitioner is handling all the patients, leading to ridiculously long wait times. I waited over an hour, and still, nothing happened. When I finally saw the doctor, I asked a simple question, and instead of answering right away, she disappeared for another 20 minutes before coming back. The entire process was frustrating and inefficient. To make matters worse, my first physical therapy visit was supposed to be just an evaluation, as confirmed by the front desk. However, after meeting with the therapist, I was told that my evaluation counted as my first session--just because they had me roll a ball up and down a wall. That's completely dishonest and misleading. The disorganization, long wait times, unfriendly staff, and dishonest billing practices make this place one of the worst clinics I've been to. I guess I can rate this place because I came here for a pre-employment screening? The associates in the front were nice, and asked me to sit in the lobby until my name was called. They had set out some snacks and gummies for people to eat, but the associate told me that I should hold off on eating any snacks due to the oral swab that will be needed. However, it seems really nice that they even offer any snacks for people waiting. The wait was not excessively long, and the staff were professional with me and never gave me any poor impression. The only downside was that their computers seemed to have network issues, which made the screening process slightly longer. I was told when I walked in for an employment screening that the wait would be two hours, this was around 3:30 on a Thursday. The office closes at 5, so I thought it was odd to offer this time frame. Additionally, I was seen in about 20-30 minutes, so this estimated wait time was not accurate at all. I'm not sure why they think it is a good business model to tell people upfront that it will be a two hour wait when that was not even the case lol. Probably just to buy themselves time in case they get severely delayed. I would suggest that employees here not even offer an estimated wait time unless a customer asks for it, because they had me worrying for no reason! Aside from that, the person who administered the screening for me was really kind, patient, and thorough. As everyone mentions, the service and wait time here is unreal. They do not care about the patients walking through their front door. A couple examples are: My appointment was at 2:15 and they brought me back to my room at 2:45 and said they would be with me shortly. I say in there for an hour without anyone coming by. I finally walked out and asked if the Dr. Sunday was going to see me soon and I could tell they had completely forgotten about me. have had an appointment at 8am so naturally I show up at 7:50. She tells me I can't sign in for my appointment and check-in until after 8 because "they are not open" 7-8 additional people are showing up and sitting in the lobby waiting to sign in and she tells us all the same thing. Why create this mass line of people to check-in at the same time instead of just letting us sign in for the order we got there? At 8am she laid out the sign-in sheet and didn't tell anyone so they are all waiting in the lobby not checked in while others that got there later are signing in ahead of them. read more

I have had to go here twice for employment screeningsand then a follow up for shots. Because it is an urgent care, I do expect a wait. The first time I called, I asked if they could schedule an appt but they told me they only offer walk ins at this time. It is a clean agency w/ a variety of kind and passionate staff. There is hand sanitizer at the front entrance and the seats are spaced apart (about 5 in the lobby.) When you sign in, they take your temperature and then ask you to complete a COVID screening w/ your paperwork. Everyone is wearing masks and they have a cup for clean and dirty pens. They also printed the paperwork that we were supposed to come in w (didn't have ink) so I also appreciated that. The nurse that completed my exam was pleasant and funny - making note that if he was taking a little longer it was because he had to be meticulous about the paperwork (which I could appreciate!) He informed me about what he was about to do and what was going to happen. I am surprised this place does not have a higher rating. read more

This was the worst urgent care experience I've seen. Immediately upon walking in I was asked for a check in barcode I explained I didn't have and I'm a walk in. I was asked again for a barcode and I asked what I need to do, because I'm a walk in-- no barcode to show? Then was asked for license and insurance. I gave them a physical license and sent my insurance via email. Had to send twice as they told me I only sent the front, nope -- I sent the front and back, twice now. After waiting over an hour they called my name to the front and asked me to pay my copay. I paid and they said they'd check me in. Curious what was talking so long as I've been waiting over an hour and have just now been checked in??? I'm writing this in the waiting room and have yet to be taken back. Never coming here again!!!! This place is absolutely absurd, I sat in the waiting room for 90 minutes as the employees walked in circles having conversations about their weekends, once people finally started to get called into the back I patiently waited my turn although as I was waiting I noticed people who had come in much after me were getting called in so I went to speak with the worker and she was very rude and hadn't even begun putting my information into the system and said once I do this you'll get a text and have to fill in more paper work. Again it had been 90 minutes of her doing absolutely nothing and now she's telling me I have more to do apart from the paperwork I filled in at the beginning. I needed to go here for a pre-employment physical and a TB test. I called their line on a Tuesday, to confirm that they do walk-ins and the guy told me "we're really busy right now, I'll schedule you an appointment for Thursday." Okay, sure. I asked him if I'd get my TB results by Friday because I needed to turn in records by then, and he said "yeah totally!". I go to my appointment on Thursday, and they didn't even have an appointment for me at all. I have no idea who I spoke to on the phone. So, I waited another 50 minutes to get seen as a "walk-in" even though it wasn't busy at all. Then, the medical assistant was extremely rude. He first tells me that I need to come back Saturday for my results. When I explained to him on the phone about what the mystery receptionist guy had told me about TB results being in by Friday, and he snaps "Well you waited too long. We're always busy, and you should have just waited in line like everyone else." He was quite abrasive in general, clearly fed up with *something*. I understand that TB tests take a few days, but I don't really understand why he was so angry at me, and why this phone receptionist was so useless.
