I have been seriously injured. I had a direct fall to my forehead full body weight. I was carrying a large object and I could not break my fall. I was bleeding. After the ER visit, I was sent by workman's comp. To concentra.. I was told by the Nurse Practitioner that "I don't treat pain. " And wrote that I could return to work without restrictions. I was in terrible pain radiating from my neck, down my right side. I work in the Bulk and Meat Depts and am 71 yrs young. I am now receiving excellent care at a different facility, my work is supportive, light duty..I'm receiving Physical therapy 3 x per week. My voice and input is respected. Two stars solely for the few of the staff that weren't moody assholes. I scheduled for a couple of occupational examinations, it took almost three hours for this place to get me to read some letters on a wall and piss in a cup. I spent more time waiting around in a patient room than getting service. At the end they stuck me with a referral they knew I didn't need, totally ignoring information I provided and documentation I offered. read more

The staff is nice, but you're not a priority. It's not first come first served. I was told after waiting for an hour with two people ahead of me that I would have to wait until others with easier issues to address would go before me. There was 4-5 more people that came in after me and went in to see the Dr before me. You're not a priority here. I'm in serious pain and others go before me. Unbelievable. I will start off by saying the staff is friendly, but I had to wait over 2 hours to have a routine physical for my new job. I would never have come here if it was not required for my job. They only have 1 physician on staff. After waiting 2 hours she finally examined me, just to let me know I have to go see my primary care physician to sign off on prior health related information. Took my 80 year old friend to this urgent care, waiting a little over an hour, which is not bad for urgent care, receptionist and nurses very friendly, my friend had fell and hurt his foot, which was swollen, we wanted an x-ray just to be sure. Nurse practitioner, came in, visually looked at his foot, saying her opinion, it could be a blood clot or heart related, his foot did not swell until he fell! Would not even xray it to see if it was fractured or broke, said his case was too complex for their clinic- so.. did absolutely no good to go to this urgent care, she did not charge anything, which was good, because she did absolutely nothing- really, I was shocked she would not xray his foot read more

If you can avoid this place, do so. Had to come here for a work physical and had a high heart rate due to nerves of doing anything test related. I was told to see my primary physician to have tests done on my heart to evaluate a high heart rate so I did. Tests come back normal, I take the letter from my Dr and everything seemed fine, I was verbally told that I passed and all was good. Then I got a call 30mins later stating the director of the facility looked at reports and denied my passing results and said I need to do more tests. I have now done a echocardiogram of which everything appears to be normal, but I still need to do a heart stress test before the director will sign me off. The director refused to talk with me personally to hear me out or even explain to me exactly what he needs so that I do not have to keep scheduling tests. I understand he has concerns, but my primary physician is fully aware and also confused on the need for the additional tests to show that I am not on the verge of a hear attack. This place is way over stepping their role in this particular situation. read more

Long wait times. Exp 1-2 hr wait. Always crowed. There is no reason to wait around like this. Front desk staff very courteous. Physical therapy group sessions always! They jump from one patient to the next but still very polite and professional. If you are on workmen's comp they are not here to get you work ready.... they are here to make money and get you back to work as fast a possible. They don't listen to you as a patient. Went there for pain in my arm and hand. After waiting forever, the first thing the so called doctor said to me was that they don't give narcotics. I never asked for narcotics or use narcotics. They did not X-ray my hand or help me in anyway. I left there angry and still in pain. This place only does physicals, workman's comp patients and drug test for employers. I went in for a cough and the doctoR who looked like he was the janitor walked in and was rude. He treated me like I was a hypochondriac who is just coming in just to come in. I get sick fairly easily I'm allergic to a lot of medications so when I do get sick it's hard for me to get well because I can't take a lot of anabiotic's I almost always have to be given a penicillin and steroids to feel better and even that sometimes takes two rounds of medication for it even to work. This Doctor Who just miss counted all the talk of me wanting meds for a cough that I was worried it was going to get worse which nine times out of 10 it does for me and ends up with pneumonia or bronchitis or something severe from small case of allergies. The only good thing the doctor did was provide me with a prednisones shot to help. But even my own Doctor Who I wish I could've gotten to see today but couldn't gives me a 10 day supply of steroids. They told me I can go out front to get my paperwork and my prescription when I looked at the prescription I didn't recognize the name so I asked what it was for the lady went and asked the doctor what it was for he tells her to tell me that it is for the buildup in my chest in the throat all the mucus and stuff to help loosen it. I was like ok that will work but that's not with the medicine I got he prescribe me medicine that is for runny nose and itchy eyes. He even got upset when I told him the anabiotic's that I'm allergic to because I couldn't give him pacific names of all the 35 different types that I'm allergic to because they're a family of antibiotics which means they have a group name he got ugly because I didn't have more information. he was one rude piece of crap and now I have no medicine because I cannot take what he prescribed. I even told him that medicine like Benadryl I can't take because it actually makes my symptoms worse and causes my nose to bleed from prolonged use so I only take Benadryl when I have an allergic reaction that I need to take care of right away but never for allergy symptoms. If I could give this place zero stars I would I will never go to that place again. read more

He took a proactive approach to our therapy, never rushed through our treatments and made time to educate me on all the details. Don't come here. Front desk is incompetent with people that have Health Insurance. I was told I owe $120 copay upfront when I have more than enough in a HRA to cover. Follow-up scheduled 3:30 appointment...got into a room at 4:22....P.A. entered room at 4:49....doctor came in at 5:05....checked out at 5:15. That's right, scheduled 3:30 appointment and I'm leaving at 5:15! Upon arrival, the lady not in scrubs (office manager maybe?) was not too pleasant when telling me to sign in. Then after waiting for over 30 minutes for a scheduled appointment, I finally asked how much longer it would be. Unfortunately, the same rude lady was up front again. Her response was, "Hold on, I'll be right with you." So, a minute later, a much more pleasant employee asked me if I needed help. She immediately checked for me and let me know! That is the only reason why I am giving 2 stars. Plus, the P.A. and doctor were very nice as well. Unfortunately, negative experiences always stand out. In my initial visit, the wait time was still bad, but it was busy. Today, not so much. So, it was hard for me to understand the long wait. Annnnnd, there was barely any soap in the restroom! Husband went here for work related injury with elbow area. Was told it was in his shoulder ( shoulder hasn't hurt at all ) said have to do therapy for six visits on shoulder. Therapy hasn't helped at all and he keeps telling the doctor it is his his elbow area to X-ray that, but they won't listen to him. Nothing is getting done because they are milking the insurance company. If you listen to their messages while you are on hold waiting to talk to someone it says they are number one for Workermans Compensation cases meaning more money for them with the insurance. PREDATORY!! That's the word for this place. They prey upon those who are in need. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU NEED AN IMMIGRATION I-693 exam for your green card. My wife went here today, we were told that is $450 for the exam from the doctor. And that was not the only fee. The thing is, they would not tell you the final fee until after you pay the initial price of the exam. Then they add $100's and up to $1000's of dollars. The reception/MA at the front refused to give a price, just saying it could be up to $2000 total out of pocket. And that's the price she has seen before for some people after getting vaccines. Let's be honest, this is a cash grab scam from the doctor and the Concerta company to take advantage of immigrants. My doctor charges $100 for an exam and $150 for a physical. To start off with $450 is just plain predatory. And then up to $1550 for unnecessary vaccines. You have to pay if you want the doctor to fill snd sign your form. My wife has a vaccine card from mexico and had a recent exam here where she has had vaccines. And apparently the doctor who does exams for people can just decide that all of your previous vaccines, even those you received in this country are invalid. Just so they can make money off of you. This is unnecessary and unethical! Should be reported to the medical board. Some people can barely afford the amount of money for all the paperwork and then they find out they need up to $2000 dollars more, most not knowing it's unnecessary. Way to take advantage of those you are supposed to be here for and to help. read more

I will never again go to a Concentra for personal injury. I went there to have my ankle and leg looked at because I was involved in an accident and needed documentation to show proof of my injuries for insurance purposes. Tell me why in the doctors report I was given that there was no mention that my injuries were from the accident but from a "FALL" (which is not what I told them). Do not know what inspired them to write that but as a result, insurance is declining to cover. Thanks for nothing Concentra and Dr. Patricia Spencer. Details are important. read more

I went to Concentra Urgent Care on Toepperwein Rd at about 9:30 am 01/17/2019 because my throat was very sorer and my ears were hurting 1st of all I didn't feel welcome there, the vibe was wrong to me. I was given some forms to fill out, I filled out forms about 5 minutes later I was called to pay my Co-Pay $75.00 after this the wait was on 9:40 am... they were calling patients all around me and it was only like 4 or 5 people there when I arrived. I was called about 10:25 am got to the room about 10:28 am. I did not see the doctor until 12:40 noonday I waited this long so that I can be told there's nothing wrong with me the doctor not being sure told me that I might have allergies she really didn't know... and I still have some of the symptoms. I PAID MY MONEY FOR NOTHING! I would like a refund. read more

We went to Concentra as it's the only urgent care available to me via my insurance. The Topperwein location is the closest one to our home that's open to a whopping... 8 pm. From the moment my fiance and I walked in, I felt bad vibes all around, but when you need to see a doctor after your doctor's office is closed, you don't really have a choice.The lady at the counter basically rolled her eyes at me as she handed me the forms barking at me to fill them out. After filling out the paperwork, I was called about ten minutes later to the backroom. My fiance was following me through the door when the nurse said rudely that she would only be taking me back. As I ran to keep up with her, and went around the corner, she handed me a cup and mumbled some quick instructions. When I asked her to repeat herself, she very rudely rolled her eyes and hastily said the same thing again. After figuring it out, I completed the test and she then stated to follow her and we proceeded to run down another hallway to a room. In the room, she became very impatient with me as I was asking confirmation on questions she was asking me regarding medical history. There was zero explanation about what was occurring when she was taking my vitals, and the doctor walked in before she was done with her portion. The doctor who came in was also very short, very accusatory, and very rude when he was performing his diagnoses. I felt ashamed for coming in to urgent care rather than going to my primary doctor by the way he said I should have done that anyway. Regardless, the night ended OK as we got some medication for my condition. Overall, I hope that January comes around soon so I can go back to attending Texas Med clinic. At least there I am treated like a human being... read more

It was around 6 to 7 PM in the evening so every reputable private medical establishment was closed for the day, and I was in dire need of taking my kid sister to a doctor to be seen for what I believed to be chicken pox. My younger sister had dots all over her body and the receptionist or "medical assistant" seemed like she could care less. She threw a pen at me, told me to fill out the paper work, and have a seat in their lobby. My sister hacked away at her skin for over 45 minutes while the front desk personal gossiped about their personal lives and not even bothering to have a nurse check my sister's vitals. I practically went through their side just to get the nurse to come out, and when she did she was worried why my sister wasn't seen sooner. Overall, the doctor herself was polite and helpful, and she provided my sister with a doctor's note. However, the date of return as my husband and I later discovered was not correct, and since I myself had also caught chicken pox and was also seen by this establishment, I too needed a note to provide to my now PREVIOUS employer. I went in and let my requests instantly be known, but interestingly enough the "medical assistant" said THERE WAS NO SUCH RECORD OF OUR VISIT EVER BEING ON FILE! After waiting there for over 45 minutes and coming to work LATE, I left with tears and no doctor's note because the idiots "lost my paperwork". They had the nerve to insinuate that I was delusional and that I must be mistaken as my sister and I had never been seen by a doctor there, which I find questionable because I have TWO prescriptions written by that exact doctor and sent to the Walgreens down the street! To make a long story short I was practically forced out the door by my now previous employer because I was "unable to substantially prove that I had been caring for my sister that was bed ridden with chicken pox, and that I myself had also gotten them." So I would personally like to thank your incompetent staff for not all sending me a bill for a visit that I supposedly never went to or existed and for making me lose my job!!! read more

Go to a specialist before gong here. Went there 2 times in the same week for an ear issue. Saw the same doctor and he said it was just wax and did a lavage to get it out. Did not look completely like ear wax, but he is the doctor. Two days later my ear was clogged up again so I went back. Same doctor different nurse said there was still ear wax (they had no explanation as to whey they didn't get it out on the previous visit) They lavaged the ear again and go more "wax" out and it hurt this time. Dr. prescribed Ciprodex as well. 3 days after using ciprodex, ear was totally CLOGGED and could not hear much out of it so I decided to go to and ENT. Within a minute after looking in my ear he noted I had a fungus and removed a large amount of it and I could immediately hear again. He also noted the Ciprodex prescribed was the wrong thing as it contains an ingredient that actually grows the fungus. The doctor goes to several of these facilities around town so beware. After sending the ENT documents to the Concentra Dr. he feels he did nothing wrong and still expect to be paid. That is NOT going to happen. read more
