I went here to get my hair and makeup done for prom. It was not a good experience.In fact it was awful. In summary, this was my experience: 1) they booked me wrong and so the lady who was supposed to do my makeup didn't show 2) they lied saying that they had everyone to do my hair/makeup when they didn't 3) the lady who got put to do my makeup was only supposed to do my hair and so she did not have any of her professional makeup with her and so she used the crappy stuff concerto had (1st of all, what professional mua doesn't bring her stuff w/ her whenever she is at work? 2nd the makeup she used and the scratchy brushes gave me an allergic reaction) 4) I asked for old hollywood type hair and I got flapper girl hair 5) they didn't have all the makeup needed (including: makeup wipes, false eyelashes, mascara, liquid liner, liquid foundation, different color lips, etc.) 6) the mua/hair artist was running late so I had to wait for 30 minutes just to see her 7) after this horrendous experience, which took longer than she originally told me, I had to run home, shower and redo EVERYTHING bc it was soo soo bad (and everyone I showed the pics of the makeup too said the same), and it made me way late for prom pics. Overall, I used to get my hair cut here, but now they just lost a customer. I will never give them my service again. I wanted to feel/look beautiful for my LAST prom, and I did, AFTER I had to do my own hair and makeup, but it still was definitely not what I imagined/wanted. The receptionists lied for business and the hair/mua were definitely NOT professional. If you want your hair/makeup done, do yourself a favor and go to the Blo Out Lounge, they are fantastic and I originally wanted to go there but they were completely filled (that tells you something!). read more

I have been going to Concerto Salon for 4 years. My boyfriend at the time got me a package that included hair, nails and a facial. My hair was done by the owner Nik, and he did my hair exactly the way i wanted it. I got married 3 months ago. Two days before the wedding i went in to get my legs and arms waxed, pedicure, acrylics, and trial run with my hair and make-up. I was at the salon for 8 hours and it was such a great experience. Every employee is so friendly and they made it a great atmosphere to be in all day. It was just what i needed to relax before the wedding. On the wedding day I had Nik do my hair, and Ayla did my make-up, and it looked amazing! I have never felt so pretty as i did that day. I refer everyone i talk to about hair to Concerto salon, and i wont go anywhere else! What a hidden gem of a salon in SCV. I was looking for a manicurist that was not only good at her trade but also easy to converse with, after all your going to be with her for 1 - 2 hours. To my delight I found Jaime. She not only does a good job with regular manicures but with gels too.
