Over all a popular place that we have been too many times and has been good throughout the years. Cool area outside to wait comfortably. Started with some drinks from the bar, most of the drinks were good, however one Margarita did not taste in the least bit like a Margarita. Service was pretty good and friendly Started with several appetizers of Muscles Marinara and Potato Skins. The Skins were good. Muscles Marinara arrived with a ton of Muscles, however the Diablo sauce was way down towards the lower 1/4 of the bowl, once tasted it was very good, had some tasty mushrooms plus spinach - Just needed a descent amou of Sauce. Good food and great wait staff. We arrived for dinner and only had about a 30 min wait. Nice outdoor waiting areas with seating to pass the time. We ordered the coconut shrimp and Cajun grouper. Yesterday friends from Chicago were visiting and wanted to stop in for a drink and a late lunch. We were fortunate that the five of us were able to sit together at the bar. We had the happy hour 2-4-1 offer. The cocktails were just okay. We ordered: *Cracked Conch - strips of Conch meat lightly breaded, fried golden brown and sprinkled with Old Bay. Served with a Remoulade dipping sauce. Very good. *Mussels Diablo-A excellent portion of Prince Edward Island Mussels, sauteed with fresh spinach and mushrooms in their diablo sauce. It was garnished with shredded parmesan and garlic toast. Delicious and always my go to. *Chicken Wings ordered naked with a side of jerk BBQ sauce and Bleu Cheese and a couple carrots and celery. Just ok. *Burger Slider from the Bar Menu was a hit. The establishment has a nice vibe and a lot seating both inside and out. The updated outside front is very Florida and provides a nice vibe. Conch is always a favorite place for us. The fish dip is nice and smoky and is served with crackers, carrots, cucumber slices, jalepeno and capers. Peel and eat shrimp are always perfectly seasoned. The coconut mahi was delicious! read more

Conch is a laid back restaurant/bar on Gulf Blvd. The interior has a lot of cool ocean stuff inside, various mounted fish and other artifacts. The server took our order and it took forever to get the food. Apparently the soup my wife ordered had gotten too low so they had to make some fresh(crab soup). Warning, a bowl of this soup is a large portion and is quite rich, it may be wise to order the cup of soup. I had the bacon wrapped scallops and I prefer my bacon a little crispier than what was brought to the table. The scallop was also seasoned with cayenne pepper which was a little spicy, but not terrible. To the server's credit, she did comp the bowl of soup because of the delay. Great fresh fish located off St. Petersburg beach. We are visiting for a few days and this locations came recommended. It did not disappoint. We didn't have reservations and we were seated immediately. (I'm sure during peak season reservations should be made). The Conch Republic is combination tourist/casual. When you enter the restaurant you are in a 100 Square foot gift shop with all kinds of Conch Republic merchandise available for sale. Once you run that gauntlet you arrive at the hostess desk and can get seated. The menu is eclectic with plenty of seafood options. I started off with the house wine Pinot Grigio recommended by our knowledgeable waitress Katy (2 for 1 happy hour special). The wine was crisp and pretty good for house wine. We went there to celebrate my friend's birthday. The place is huge but I made reservations just in case. I had conch coconut shrimp with coconut almond rice. I do like the coconut almond rice but the shrimp was okay. I tried their Jerk Mahi Mahi, which was good. I'll probably order this if I ever come back. We come a bit early because of the holiday and we're able to try the Happy Hour menu (2-5pm only). The entrees come with side salad and I got their house salad with blue cheese dressing, which was good. I also tried their Bahama mama 2-4-1. I ordered key lime pie for the dessert and found the crust and pie filling to be too tarty especially because of the lime drizzle on the top. It is taste so artificial. I would not recommend their key lime pie. The service was okay and a bit slow even though there weren't that many people. We were seated outside and near the bar - I like the vibes. They have plenty free parking. I'd like to try other restaurants in the area but I'd probably return to try their conch fritter appetizer and happy hour menu! read more

Went twice during our one week visit - service was fantastic both time. The food was good, drinks were awesome specially loved their Bloody Mary and the happy hour - double bubble deal- also they have a great kids menu and a large adult menu. Would absolutely go back! The only thing is that they are not on the water and don't have a water view but the inside is a typical Florida place and the great service and food is why I would go back. Conch Republic Grill is another one of our favorite spots down on the beach. Whether we are sitting inside at the bar or outside, the ambiance is always relaxed and enjoyable. The food is consistently very good. The fish bread appetizer is easily one of the best fish breads in the area and we always enjoy it. The chicken sandwich and the Cuban are both solid favorites, and there are plenty of other menu items that never disappoint. They also have a good happy hour, which is a nice bonus. The only downside is the quality of the house wine and liquors. While we understand keeping things affordable, the house options feel very bottom shelf, especially compared to other restaurants that are not even as nice but offer better quality house pours. Had an iffy experience this go around with Conch Republic. We are big fans of the food here, but this year the service has taken a hit. We know this is a busy spot in the area as we vacation here every year, and eat here every year multiple times during our month long stay in the area. This year when our entire family was in town I went online to make a reservation but was unable to due to our party size so as recommended on the site I called into the restaurant to see if they could fit our large party size. When I called into the host told me that he "didn't know why" the website said that and to just "add it to the notes" on our reservation, well of course there was no notes so we booked for two tables for the amount of people we had , 30 minutes apart hoping that would work- well of course when we arrived that did in fact not work- which is fine but there should've been two tables and we were fine with splitting our group up- well of course that was not the case and they put our entire group outside (in the cold- it was only like 50 degrees.) and not only that, our party size of 16 was put with a first day waiter- which seems unfair to us and the guy who should still be training/ taking smaller tables to get accustomed. He did AMAZING- unfortunately it's been a few days since we returned home and I can't remember his name. We kicked things off with the potato skins, which were... fine. Not bad, not great -- just kind of hanging out on the plate like they weren't sure why they were invited. But the crab soup came in hot (literally and figuratively) -- creamy, full of flavor, and the kind of thing you wish came in a bottomless bowl. My wife ordered the Bourbon Street chicken breast and gave it rave reviews. Tender, flavorful, and the kind of dish that makes you guard your plate from roaming forks. It was actually her favorite dish of the whole week. I went with the Bimini stuffed grouper in paradise, which sounded dreamy, but the "paradise sauce" felt more like a layover in disappointment. And the grouper? Way too fishy. Like, "this fish lived a full life and wants you to know about it" fishy. Our waitress was super sweet, but the drink refills moved at glacial speed. Friendly service, just maybe bring a canteen next time. But let's end on a high note -- the Bananas Foster was . Literally. Delicious, dramatic, and worth the price of admission all by itself. If dessert could win an Oscar, this would at least get nominated. Pro tip: Stick to the crab soup, chicken, and whatever's on fire for dessert. read more

Brought the parents as well as an adult daughter for dinner. Parking was a bit tough and drove around a couple times to find a place. We added to the wait list on the way, so only had a 7min wait once we arrived. Perfect! Once seated, our server, Alex, greeted us and brought water and the most delicious hot bread and butter. The bread had a wonderful herb mixture on it that made my taste buds happy! Our table ordered Conch Fritters (of course!) to start, then side salads, Mussels, P&E Shrimp, Grouper, and being plant-based, I ordered the Baked Potato, plain. Now, Alex advised us on the salads, and was perfectly attentive to our needs, but always with a smile and jokes. Let's just say our table was no small deal. The parents spilled an entire glass of water, didn't like a drink they ordered, needed crackers for Chowdah, and so many more little issues. Alex handled every bit with aplomb and speedy service, keeping us laughing and happy. This was honestly some of the best service we have had out in a long while. As for the food, perfection. Even my baked potato was better than I make at home. How'd they do that?!! We were in Key West at Conch Republic last month and had the Conch Fritters there. They do not hold a candle to N Reddington Beach. Wish I had more photos, but we were so hungry and gobbled everything super fast. I've been going to this restaurant for years because it's a family staple and I have never had a bad experience! The food is always fresh, the drinks couldn't be better, and the Key West vibe of the place is very unique and special. If you're looking for fresh seafood, that's cooked to perfection, this is the place for you. Also, if you're looking for an incredible slice of Keylime pie, you need to go. Every time we go to the restaurant, my dad has to get his dozen oysters because he says they're the best in the area. We go every year for his birthday and that's the first thing he gets. I also love their conch cracker shrimp, salmon and coconut, crusted chicken, and the sauces are delicious (especially the mango chutney).
