I stopped in for lunch, the hostess was very friendly. She took me to my table and was very friendly and genuine, asked about my travel plans etc. Great start. My server never came so another server stepped up to the plate and took my order. He was very attentive so I left him a good tip. I ordered the blackened mahi sandwich. I was actually going to order (splurge) on the Mahi Fresca but the sides were a letdown so I stuck with the sandwich. The mahi was PERFECT. Very fresh, no fishy taste at all. The mahi was definitely the star of the experience. The sides I was going to order were mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. Neither were made in house when I asked. The mashed potatoes were really an after thought in both quality and portion. My sandwich also had raw onion when the menu mentioned sauteed onion. It was also missing the melted cheese the menu mentioned. Major mistakes on the food.
Crabby's is the reincarnation of what was Gators. Which, by the way, was one of my favorites until Covid shut them down. So, to say the least, I was very excited to try this iteration. Much of the old Gators vibe is still there. Most of what is served is similar. Since I was a fan of the grouper, it's what I got. But I will add they did have a hogfish meal, but according to our server at the time, she said it wasn't offered as a sandwich. I later saw a hogfish sandwich on another menu. I ordered a rum runner as my beverage. And it was made very well. When the food arrived, I was impressed with the sized of the sandwich, and you got a nice helping of crispy yet tender fries. Overall, I was satisfied with the meal. The service was good besides the one oops with the hogfish. Out the door for 2 meals and 2 cocktails was about $60.00 with the tip. I forgot to mention. The gift shop that was at Gators is gone. Basically it's an ice cream shop now. But Crabby's does offer T's and such. I'll go back next time for their hogfish.
First time coming and it was DEFINITELY WORTH IT! Had like a Joe's Crab Shack feel, very welcoming. Our waitress way Kaylee B. She was amazing and super sweet. We came to Crabby's on Mother's Day and coincidentally it was Kaylee's birthday SO of course we sang her happy birthday and I hope that made her day. So good. The food was amazing of course! We got conch fritters I believe for appetizer and main meals were grouper nuggets which we heard were their uh well highly recommended items along with their scallops which our friend got. My mother got the hogfish ALSO highly recommended and I got the seafood boil. With the boil I got both Cajun and garlic sauce but... could taste Cajun at all. You can see the sauce turned white... weird. A lot of crab which is good just different. A lot of shrimp is normal haha and the scallops are huge haha On our way out I also picked up one of their "save the chubby mermaids" shirt haha Super glad we picked Crabby's!
My husband and I came here on a Thursday night just after sunset. We sat outside with the water view. It was a lovely cool evening in February. We were greeted by Kier who took good care of us that evening. We ordered the crab & spinach dip to start. It's was cheesy and good. I ordered short rib nachos with fries. The tacos were tasty and the fries were delicious with a nice seasoning. My husband's tuna steak was ordered blackened with garlic mash & broccoli. The tuna steak was seared just right with nice red center. He was very impressed with the tuna steak preparation. Garlic mash was subtle on the garlic side and the broccoli was just good old broccoli. Overall, great casual dining experience and really good food for a decent price.
We loved it so much, we came back a second night! Great sunset view right on John's Pass, Treasure Island. Plenty of dolphins playing too! Our server the first night was Brooke... give her a raise! She's the best server that I've had in a really long time. Too bad she wasn't there on our return visit. Sweet, kind, generous, hospitable, helpful, fun, joyful. She was truly happy to be at work and you could tell. 1848 Hurricane. This is now my favorite Hurricane. Named after the Hurricane that created John's Pass. Even served with environmentally friendly straws... love it! Crab Cake app... ya'll get this! More Crab, less cake... Loved it! I'm picky about my crabcakes as they usually have too much stuffing, dry mix, whatever it is. Man, this one rocks! Key West Combo... plenty to share for two. Grilled Mahi, two skewers of grilled shrimp, and the two side we chose were cheesy grits (great for the shrimp!), rice & beans. The second night we added the Carribean street corn and that was really good too. Sauces: Pepper Jam came with Crab Cake... ... but try the other sauces too! (Thanks Brooke!) Pina Colada with Pineapple is probably my favorite. Lemon Aioli garlic sauce is so yummy too, second favorite. Mango Creamy Cilantro Tangy Baja ...and I'm sure there are more... just ask! So when meal is done... head over to the gift shop with your receipt. You'll get a discount on ice cream and T-shirts! ... I got one of each!!!
We wanted to like this place so much. The staff was super friendly, we got great seating, the ambience was lively but the biggest factor was the food for us. The food we thought lacked something, it was just fine. There was nothing that jumped out at us as being amazing. The hogfish sandwich was the best item, our shrimp scampi pasta was ok. I ordered the shrimp ceviche app and it lacked the limey flavor that ceviche normally has. This was very much a bar experience type restaurant, the drinks were great, but we wish the food had more flavor. Maybe we had an off day or expected more, would try again.
Crappy's has a nice atmosphere, especially with the outdoor seating and live music. Our server was great, and the Crab Sip appetizer was delicious. However, the drinks were overly sugary and syrupy. Unfortunately, the entrees were disappointing--my mahi and my boyfriend's shrimp and calamari were not good, especially for the $100 price tag. We left hungry and felt it wasn't worth the cost.
This was a great place for Seafood. Most places are kind of meh? This was tasty and juicy. Service was quick and she was very knowledgeable about the menu. Sitting outside was nice. A lot of fans blowing and NO smell of fish. Good meal at a good price!
Nick and I stopped here for dinner before a night on the town. We ate outside. It was very nice. The server was very helpful and friendly. We had a Yelp check in coupon for a free appetizer, so that's why we tried the chorizo and chips. We ordered a side of salsa to go with it, just to break up some of the richness of the cheese and chorizo. Overall, it was very good and I would get it again.
Great atmosphere and easy walk from Madeira Beach. If you want a true laid-back experience of being on the water you need to stop here. I admit that there are other places across the water in Johns Pass that I haven't gone to yet. That's because this location is big and welcoming. The wait staff is always accommodating too. The drinks could use another shot and the food is okay. Nothing spectacular. I had a fried grouper sandwich which was good. I did have the mango salsa on the side which was just ok. My daughter had the crab boil which could've used some garlic in the butter. However the portion was large and more than ample. It's always a treat to see the birds and dolphins swim by. If nothing more go for an appetizer and sit by the water.

Just the right amount of alcohol. Not enough to put you under the table but enough to justify the $14 spent. The Shrimp and Grits with Sausage ($19.99) was delicious. A little bit of spice with a salty sausage perfectly blends well with the shrimp. I highly recommend. Husband got the Shrimp Pasta ($19.99) and it was equally flavorful. Lots of food that hit the spot. If you're in the area we cannot express enough how wonderful Crabbys on the Pass is. And ask for Val R. She's the best.
Val R. Took exceptional care of us for brunch. We had great seats on the water. Her service will make me a repeat customer. I enjoyed the beef Benny and my friend enjoyed the crabcake Benny. We had a side of the smoked Gouda cheese, grits, and the sausage gravy. They were both excellent.

OMG .... we're Just made, sizzling hot and fresh! Absolutely Delicious! Next, our meals (drooling) the Crab and Shrimp Boil and the NY Strip and Scallop Surf and Turf was all so AMAZING! If we're to come back, would come just for this place! Great atmosphere, fabulous service and FRESH!

Service was good, no complaints there. Cool setup with many areas to sit and there was room for our large group. Food was good but not great. It's a perfect place for peeps on vacation that want a good meal that isn't stupid expensive. read more

Wow! We stumbled upon this place by mistake after visiting a nearby beach. We chose the bar as it was fcfs while the seating was 30-40 min wait. We had a trio of bartenders that all were great, with Jeff being the main guy for us. The atmosphere is great with a view of the channel that leads right into the Gulf. Food: We had the crab/spinach dip and half lb peel n eat shrimp. The dip was divine; velvet smooth, and tasty. The shrimp were good, but they could use a little more seasoning and cocktail sauce. But nothing really to complain about. For dinner, the Mr had surf and turf of steak and crablegs. Both items were great. I had the seafood combo of Mahi and Shrimp. Again, both are fantastic. Conch fritters were good, but I would not have known I was eating a conch without being told. I look forward to eating there again. read more

Stopped here for breakfast / brunch. Beautiful views and there was even a dolphin sighting . Our server was wonderful and our breakfasts were good. I got the Salmon Benedict with the Hashbrown Casserole, and my husband got the French Toast. The Hashbrown Casserole was worth the upcharge! The whole experience was good, but what made it great and put a smile on me and my husband's faces was the groundsman. As we were leaving he looked up from his sweeping and said that he hope we enjoyed it and wished us a nice day, then, as we were leaving in the car he saw us again and waved goodbye! Pizza at Crabby's on the Pass!!! Who would've thunkit? It's quite good Being emailed a coupon for a "Nat'l Pizza Day" discount from Crabby's and reading many S/M comments bragging about their Pizza we decided it was High-Time to Try. We opted to sit at the Bar with the panoramic views of Johns Pass just inside the drawbridge looking across to the JP Boardwalk, Bubba Gumps & Hooters. I was pleasantly surprised by the Yuengling Flight lite beer available "On-Tap" and ordered us up two ice cold beers. After looking at the menu's listed available Pizza choices (plus custom order) we chose the "Shrimp Scamp" Pizza with a garlic-olive oil base, mozzarella cheese and sautéed Shrimp Scamp garnished with cherry tomatoes. It arrived Hot with gooey melted cheese and a wonderful garlic-ey aroma that just made my mouth begin to water. As we happily savored every slice only adding a few hot pepper flakes we had the pleasure of watching the afternoon boat traffic including Tiki Hut Tour Boats, fishing charters such as "Skirt Chaser" and even the Royal Conquest Pirate Ship did a drive-by! We just cannot get enough of this... The beer was COLD, the Pizza delivered HOT but for the best attention with personal service I recommend getting a Table as the bar staff were quite busy maintaining the restaurants drink demand and longer than desired wait times were experienced. The view sitting at the bar looking out is pretty great and it's usually our first choice when having alcoholic beverages before, during or after a meal. The paid receipt serves as a 10% Discount in their Gift Shop/Ice Cream Store appropriately named "Sweet Willy's which we visited for a cone and T-Shirt - a Säweeté Bonus! Come by Land or Sea this has been a unique location embellishing traditional waterfront Florida for Decades. They offer free parking for their patrons and many pay to park areas are surrounding, choose wisely. It's a great place to stop for a meal or simply a drink with live music occasionally outside. As a 35 year local resident, we still frequent Crabby's on Kingfish Drive on a fairly regular basis! read more

We had dinner here outside on the upper deck just before sunset. What a perfect seat! Our server was amazing. Baby Shea I believe. We had 2 other people check on us while dining. We shared boiled shrimp. We each had a bowl of lobster bisque that was delicious. And shared a plate of fried clams that were also delicious. We will definitely be back! read more

After a nice day at Johns Pass we decided to walk over the bridge to have dinner at Crabbys. We had a huge party of people so we had a 45/1h wait. Luckily it was closer to 45minutes so it nice we sat down near the back of the restaurant and we had the pleasure of being served by Charlie who was really great. The Kitchen on the other hand was having a hard time getting our orders out we were probably there for 2 almost 3 hours the food was taking awhile from appetizers to the entrees so we got some drinks to help pass but the time we got there in daylight and left at nighttime. Unfortunately when we got out food something's had topping that weren't supposed to be there and steaks and burger were good over cooked but our server was very apologetic about the situations that occurred and got it figured out in the end. I felt bad she was the only server helping us because we had way to much going on for just her but she did it. read more

Finally stopped in for dinner on a Saturday nite and we sat outside. The view is beautiful and you get to see the boats pass by and the boats that come to dock to stop to eat and drink! They had live music so that was cool! Plenty of tables and the wait was maybe 5/10 mins. We had some beers, calamari, fried pickles and the pretzel! Everything was good and didn't get complaints from the kids! Which is always a plus! Main dishes, the kids had pasta dish and the grilled chicken with fries! The hubby had the crab legs and some shrimp and I had the Cajun pasta. Everything was real good and tasty! The staff was super friendly and the view was spectacular! Will be back for sure! read more

Overall, this place is nice for post-beach relaxation and grub or pre-breach grub. It has a lot of options on the menu and the staff is amenable to request. I thought the employees were all respectful and I didn't feel like they were pushing me out to get the next customer in. Ambiance 4/5 in the day, 5/5 at night! You will get a beautiful sunset view. The reason for the 4 star is because of the food is normal, but not terrible or spectacular. I'd like to give the food a 3.5/5 overall. The grouper is definitely the best thing on the menu cooked anyway you like; however, the sides are not as delicious. read more
Walk from our hotel was easy access right at the John's Pass Bridge though there was plenty of parking ($). Made a reservation so we only had about a 10 minute wait. We enjoyed the crab dip (sorry no pictures. We ate it too quickly.) the fish and chips was not quite as tender as I would've liked it to be, but it was a very thick cut of fish. My son enjoyed the boom boom shrimp tacos. They were overflowing with shrimp in the spicy, boom boom sauce. The crab and shrimp boil was a feast with crab, shrimp, sausage and corn, so much so that the side of french fries had to go home with us. We enjoyed the bananas, Foster and Keylime cheesecake slices so I wish they had a little bit stronger flavor. They were a nice into the meal. We stopped by the ice cream shop on the way out the door and my daughter and son had scoops of ice cream. It was nice that they provided a 10% discount if you ate at the restaurant on the ice cream afterwards. Wait staff was friendly and kept the drinks full. It is a bit noisy as we sat by the bar, which had open access to the boating docs for people to bring their boats and then enjoy the restaurant. All in all it was a pretty good experience. read more

So it's fairly good. I had the Crabby's combo. It's typical bar food - fried shrimp, calamari, grouper sticks, chips. They gave a lot of the calamari and fewer shrimp. The margarita bucket was good for $12. Busy place. No live music when we were there. I could have sworn there is supposed to be one planned on the day we ate there. The Naples style pizza blanco was also good. Would have been better if we can see the sunset. But the bridge next to it blocks the view. read more

The pizza here was very delicious I loved it. Loved the flavor profiles. Definetly recommend the Blanco pizza. The crabbys combo was good also. The calamari and chips were excellent. The garlic mashed potatoes could have used more garlic but they were good. I didn't try the fish in it as BF said it was good but had a lot of fish flavor so I wouldn't care for it that much. The drinks were really good!! The rum runner bucket and margarita bucket were delicious. Our server was amazing!! I wish I remembered her name to give her a shout out but she was great!! Food- ordered the crab dip, coconut shrimp, bang bang shrimp, avocado tacos and the New York pizza. Below I had my family rate the food they ordered. This is our personal preference. The dip was flavorful and smelled amazing. It was missing a certain freshness overall we rated it 6.5/10 The pizza was an 8/10 great cheese pull, sauce was flavorful. Crust could have been more crunchy. Avocado tacos - 6/10 good flavor and crispy avocado, salsa was lacking spice and authenticity Boom boom shrimp 9/10 great flavor and spice Coconut shrimp 9/10 was crispy and sweet. Overall, I would order the shrimp again, and come back for the great service and experience. Service- 10/10 wonderful hostess and Brooke our server was great! They went above and beyond, and even did more than we asked. They gave us great food recommendations as well. Ambiance- 10//10 we sat outside right next to the water. Came here for breakfast and it did not disappoint! Coffee was hot and fresh, food was flavorful and huge portions!! The breakfast pizza was enough for 2-3 people easily! So good!!! We even got to see dolphins playing right next to the docks! Highly recommend! Oh and our server was very attentive and informative about the area! read more
Location was Awesome! Food was Awesome! Waiter informed us of different options on menu and was a pleasure. He was very helpful and attentive. My wife and I split the Coconut HogFish and Shrimp. It had three large portions of fish and 6 large shrimp. The key lime tartar sauce was one of the best tarter sauces we ever had; very unique and refreshing. Broccoli was steamed in garlic and was fantastic. It was all amazing! Definitely a place to come if you are in the Treasure Island area.
