I took my car to Hart Motors for smog check. I inquired, if they do smog check. Lady working there who was really nice and pleasant, informed that they do. I was greeted by Ara(owner), he did the paper work and start the tests. It took about 45 minutes to 1 hour to do the test. There were some issues with the system. I was out of the place in an hour and luckily my car passed. During the test, Ara kept giving me updates on the car and how was the process going. Honestly, he provided a better quote than most of the stores in valley gave me. I am very glad that I found this location. I will go back to Hart Motors for other car issues. read more

I needed a last minute Smog Check for my S550- I was recommended to go to Hart Motors. Upon arriving I met with Ara, (Owner) he had my car on the smog rack and it took all but 15 minutes, While having a conversation in reference to another vehicle of mine, he answered all questions and was really super nice. I was forced to start a small claims matter against Ara Hartoonian c/o Hart Motors for charging me with fraudulent fees. I won the lawsuit because the judge saw overwhelmingly that I deserved my money back. I won the lawsuit + legal fees. Maybe Hart Motors have been legit to some but not to all, including myself, which should give pause to anyone who would consider using them to repair their automobile because you might be one of the ones whom they are not trustworthy with. Recently I found that my 1996 mustang had not only a leaking intake manifold but it had a pretty bad gouge mark in the head where it had been wearing away due to the seal being bad. I took it down to Ara who did an excellent job having the heads replaced, and rebuilding the motor. He gave me a really reasonable price and turned it around fairly quickly. They tried to tell us the starter for the battery was not working even though the guy who towed my car was able to jump start the battery. He also tried nickeling and dimeing us for cleaning. Had my fiance not consulted with her father, who knows a ton about cars, he would have charged us $900-$1000 for a repair that in the end was only just under $500. He then suddenly retested the battery and told us there was nothing wrong with the starter after all. Lol he had to retest it to figure out what we knew all along-which was that only the battery was busted. I will give them two stars because they seem to have done a good job fixing my battery and brakes problems, and because the mechanic's wife was kind enough to give us a ride home. But if you can find any place better don't go to these guys. The mechanic who gave us the estimate seems unscrupulous. read more

My car wouldn't start last weekend and after one AAA repairman confirmed that it wasn't because of my relatively new battery, another AAA tow truck driver (named Will, who was very lovely) brought my car and I to Hart Motors. I think my husband got his battery changed there a while ago, but I wasn't super familiar with them. Long story, but I also had my husband's car keys on me, so he wasn't able to pick me up from the shop. Ara drove my to my husband's car and saved my the money I would have had to spend on a Lyft! Very sweet! Ara and his crew changed the starter on my car, flushed the power steering fluid, and recharged my A/C quickly and for a reasonable price. I can hear and feel the difference in my car. He also told my about a couple of not-as-urgent things (new spark plugs) that I'll definitely be back in to fix. No complaints! I'll definitely be back! read more

Another Hart Motors experience. I had my oil changed there recently. My engine cover under the front axle has always been tricky to put on due to poor engineering and design by VW. I mean, that thing has been hanging on for dear life for a few yrs now. About a week after the oil change, this cover falls off while I'm cruising on the 405 and gets ripped to shreds. It looked like a gigantic slab of beef jerky. I took my car back to Hart, and the new cover was ordered and placed the same day. When I came to pick up my beloved wagon, Ara told me that he didn't want to charge me for the job since he felt that the cover was not installed properly after the oil change. Needless to say, I insisted on paying for the part ($200) anyway. What a nice guy though. Ara, you are the best! read more

I went in because my parking brake was not functioning properly. The staff fairly quickly diagnosed the problem (I needed a replacement parking brake due to normal wear and tear or someone setting the brake too firmly), ordered a replacement parking brake, installed the brake and had me out of there in no time. I went in to get a battery replaced and the owner calls me like 2 hours later to tell me I need to replace the starter which costs 677$. I said I'd tow my car to another place for service and he calls back in three minutes and says he "tested it again" and it might be the battery. I did get service in replacing the battery after bargaining a price. He was initially charging me370$ just to replace front brake pads and rotors. I would not trust this place ever again. They scam you if they think you don't know anything about cars. Luckily all the men in my family know about cars. Also he tried to get me to sign a paper charging more than the agreed price.
