I'm so sad to be writing this review :( I've been coming here for YEARS and loved it here. During my teeth cleaning today, however, i had a bad experience. I was confused because usually it's great. Then i realized they were under new management. The teeth cleaning was not good. To start, she did a new type of scan to my teeth and didn't tell my anything about it. She just said "we're doing this imaging that they do for invisiline". I was confused because i don't need invisiline. I then asked why she was doing it and she said for "cosmetic planning"? I was pretty confused. I'm sure there was a reason why they did the imaging, they just didn't inform me of the reasoning. Next, she put the suction device in my mouth and then proceeded to not clean my teeth for about 5 mins. So i was sitting there uncomfortably with the suction device in my mouth while no actual cleaning was happening. This continued until i took the device off by myself and then she was like "oh sorry, i'll put that away for now". The teeth cleaning itself was much more uncomfortable than other teeth cleaning. Lots of splashing, water got in my eye hahaha which has never happened to me before. Also, she left me with tons of tooth paste still in my mouth and i was laying there was a mouth full of water and tooth paste. After a few mins i asked her if there was somewhere i could spit it out hahaha. Then they told me to get fluoride would be $40. I was confused and said i always get fluoride but have never been charged before. Then she says i don't need it, but it would be good to get. The doctor comes in and says the fluoride is $45. Then i asked about the price and then she says ohhh actually it is $40. She checks my teeth and says i need fluoride, but the free kind? And that i don't need the fluoride that costs money. My main issue here is how confusing it was. They need to clearly tell the patient which fluoride is which, and be clear in the prices. I'm sure there's reasonable rationale behind this, but you need to inform the patient of these things. I only found out this info because i asked a ton of questions. I shouldn't have to dig for this info. One thing i will say is that, while the experience and teeth cleaning was bad, the staff is polite! And the place is clean, and they are on time. So there are some pros here, but also some serious cons. read more

Please stay away from these guys. They charge $50 fluoride which is standard for a cleaning across the US and is part of any standard cleaning by any dental insurance. By not including it they are attempting to defraud you the patient, your insurance company, and show they do not care at all for their patients oral health. EXTREMELY UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES by extorting their patients for $50 more dollars when they are already charging your insurance for this as a standard cleaning. Dr. Kang is one of the best dentists I have ever seen. With Dr. Kang, I noticed and am impressed with all the little things that Dr. Kang does for me that other dentists do not do. He definitely does his best to care about the well being of the patient, and has never attempted to up-sell me any unnecessary treatments. He does periodontal scoring for every one of my recall visit, which is something that not many dentists do. He does everything that an ideal practitioner is supposed to and even went as far as to give me a therapeutic treatment for a slight tartar buildup when he knew insurance would not have covered it. The best part is he doesn't know that I am a dental student, so he probably doesn't think I know how great these things are. He did them because he is a great dentist. Now that he doesn't take my current insurance, I am sad to say that I will miss him, but I want to say thank you for playing a big part of my oral health. read more

Though he's got good reviews, I would not recommend to go here. Office has a good inventory of tool, but as they say "fool with a tool is more powerful fool". Very bad hygiene, - often times he picks tools fallen on the floor and continue using them while you are lying in the chair and looking at the ceiling over-medicated ... since he had to medicate you twice while serving other patients. Though I went to his office for routine checkup, he managed to destroy two of my teeth by trying to "fix" root canals even though he was taking dozen of pictures every few minutes. His stuff is also not following simple hygiene rules, constantly using "dirty" cell phones, though wearing rubber gloves. After his treatment I had a serious gum infection with puss coming out of my gum. I had to pay chunk of money out of my pocket to fix the damage that he caused since he's cleaned my insurance dry. read more

Someone wrote in their review "Fool with tools..." Could not agree more. Dr. "Jack of all trades" Kang does "everything"... According to him he'll clean your teeth, make your fillings, your root canal, put a crown, insert implants, and even perform a surgery!! Isn't he impressive! Nah... Be aware,- don't fall into his scheme of fooling you out of as much money as possible. Always go for a second opinion. In my opinion, it is safer to go to a doctor with single trade than this "Jack". By far the best dentist I think I've had in my long history of dentists. Dr. Kang is quick, to-the-point, friendly, extremely informative, and up-to-date with the latest technology. He explains everything he is doing, what he is using (going as far as pulling up google searches to explain the kind of treatment he is using on a cavity, etc). He has a very efficient relationship with his super friendly assistants (it sounds like listening to surgery). Thoughtful touches (goggles to prevent spraying or eye strain), prescriptions for medicated mouthwashes, etc. I truly felt that he was always looking out for me and not trying to get my money. The office is also SUPER clean, super sterile looking, very modern, and very efficiently designed. A quick history of dentists: a previous dentist found through insurance had traumatized me by performing an aggressive root canal on a curved root, puncturing the root and filling it anyway (and insisting I come in for a crown, which would have guaranteed an infection). I had become very skeptical of dentists after a series of other dentists that tried to scam me (scheduling 1 appointment per filling, insisting on root canals, etc). After that, I became 7-years loyal to a family dentist who had developed his practice and became more about money and less available. For all these reasons, Dr. Kang was truly a godsend. He was always available, I was usually able to see him within days. He tried to fit me in whenever he could. I needed another root canal on a curved root, and instead of trying to do it himself understood his limitations and referred me to an endodontist. Everything else though, he handles and handles very pleasantly. His receptionist staff is also super informative, very efficient, on top of everything. They confirm appointments, answered all my questions, consulted with the doctor if they couldn't, and had responses immediately. All documents are scanned and kept on file for quick reference when needed. Like... I cannot recommend him enough. There needs to be more places like this to make folks like me less traumatized and more willing to be preventative. I straight up looked forward to dentist visits. read more

Overall: 5/5 Wow, who knew I'd be reviewing a dental service on Yelp? But Dr Youngmo Kang stood out enough to warrant it. The story: I was looking for a quick cleaning, because it's near end of year and I've missed the last few cycles. I did a Google search and found Youngmo Kang who was available and figured I'd give him a try before going to a larger dental practice. However, his service impressed me enough that I plan my next cleaning to be with him :) Office: I get to the building. The elevator security keypad is a bit tricky to use, you have to make sure it beeps each time you press a number. I get to the floor and walk in. It's sparse but clean. I feel like it's newly renovated from an older office, so maybe the doctor started his practice recently. I check in with the receptionist, who's very friendly. A guy comes out from the side and it's Dr Youngmo Kang. He introduces himself and shakes my hand. There's a bit of a wait and he apologizes. The Actual Service: Great! This is where Dr Youngmo Kang shines. He tries really hard to make a good impression. He cares what I think about him, and I never even told him I'd review it later ;) He does a thorough job with the cleaning, taking the time to chat, ask if I'm okay, and give some tips on oral hygiene. I hope it's like this every time, and not just the first time as a new patient! Billing/Cost: Don't know. Insurance covered it. Recommendation: I'd come back I originally thought it'd be a one-time thing before moving to a big clinic (I tend to go with big firms, whether it's medical offices, apartment management companies, etc.) but he's impressed me enough that I'd go back for my next cleaning :) And we'll see from there haha. read more

Alright, so my mouth is a disaster and I was terrified to come to the dentist again after a few years of not having insurance. My dentist was AMAZING, she was so attentive to my pain levels and really informative about my prescriptions. The associates at the front desk were rockstars, they really worked to make sure my insurance covered everything. 10/10 would recommend. Love Concierge! read more

I've been seeing Dr. Kang now for a couple of years because his office is near my workplace and he was recommended by a colleague. I'm really glad I made the switch from my previous practitioner. Everyone in the office is pleasant and professional, and Dr Kang takes the time to explain why he's proceeding with the treatment he's chosen (demonstrated with photos of your teeth). The office seems to be equipped with the latest technology - I was happy to discover that a crown that I needed could be milled onsite there and then, and that I didn't have to walk around with a temporary one for a couple of weeks. I also appreciate that the office is very clear about financial estimates and what insurance covers prior to treatment, as I know from experience that some practices don't. Dr Kang is also smartly conservative, and doesn't push unnecessary treatments. If my office moved, I would gladly travel across the city to continue to see Dr Kang. read more

I choose my dentists, doctors etc. based on convenience. Are you close to my workplace? Do you get decent reviews online? Do you take my insurance? OK, I'll give you a try. So glad I'm working where I am now specifically for Dr, Kang, and I might even keep seeing him even if I were to get a job elsewhere in a few years! He is seriously the nicest dentist I've ever had, and his staff is great too. He called me in about 15 minutes after my appointment time, which I don't think is that bad, but he and his assistant were still apologizing for the delay even at the end of the appointment. He was just as considerate when doing my actual cleaning and X-rays, he was super gentle and he kept checking to make sure that I was all right. He even applied a numbing gel to my lower gums before working on them (that was where he focused the longest), so of course I barely felt anything at all for the entire procedure. He was pretty thorough in explaining how to better take care of my teeth and gums going forward, while also being very reassuring (the conversation after is always the scariest part of going to the dentist, IMO). Dr. Kang's many 5-star reviews here are well-deserved. At least for as long as I'm still living in New York, he's got himself another loyal customer with me. read more

Dr. Kang is the bomb. I was a patient at another practice in the neighborhood for a couple of years, (the lead doctor there is great, but I can't say the same for the other doctors at the practice who are sloppy and arrogant) but a bad experience at that practice had me on the hunt for a new, regular doctor. Dr. Kang expertly fixed an appliance in my mouth that had broken and even ordered a 'replacement part' that he doesn't normally carry, should that appliance break again. He told me he would keep it on hold for me in case of emergency. He worked out a very reasonable price for that fix, as well as my cleaning, and I couldn't have been happier. I always want my doctors' offices to be sparkling clean and the equipment modern. This is shockingly difficult to find, unless you're able and willing to pay exorbitant sums out of pocket. But Dr. Kang's office is very clean, very white (!) and very modern. When I initially walked into the building which has an odd industrial feel, and learned I needed to take the open-air stairs to the basement, I was a bit wary, but once in the space, I knew that I'd made the right choice. So, between Dr. Kang's efficient and thorough work and his kind and low-key demeanor, I'm so happy that I found Dr. Kang! read more

As much as I hate going to the dentist, I have to share that this has been the most pleasant dental experience that I've had. Even with all the work that I needed to have done from root canals to cleaning, the staff and Dr. Kang, were very detailed in describing everything to me and made my visits pleasurable. Not to mention the awesome music Dr. Kang listened to while performing surgery in my mouth. All around great experience and very knowledgable crew. Dr.Youngmo Kang is the boom! He had 5 fillings done and I had my wisdom teeth taken out and after hearing so many horror stories about taking out of wisdom teeth's aftereffect was like I was a little worried. He is absolutely the best in every way. The first, from the moment you enter his charming office you feel comfortable and Dr.Kang He has been nothing but extremely professional.He makes me feel at ease and also makes me feel like he cares about me as a person. The staff and assistant are very kind,helpful and pleasant. Second, always very clean facility and his medical equipment has to be the greatest thing I have ever seen in a dental office.which means less time and less pain. Hands down my favorite dentist in NYC. The staff is amazing, nice, helpful, and have some of the best chair-side manners. Dr. Kang is simply delightful and always efficient in the visits. UNBEEEEEELIEVABLE; a dentist in Tribeca that is exceptionally smart and through, has a great office staff, great assistant: Hallie, and is NICE! What a relief my teeth are under the best dentist that I have found in the last 7 years! I trust them too. They did not try to up-sell me in fact made the to do list very clear and assigned an order of necessity. They take insurance. The place is wildly modern with lots of creature comforts and no blaring TV in the treatment rooms to distract the dentist and the workers (I never did get the need for that). I just got home from my scaling; a process I dread and have NO pain because he has the greatest equipment and and skill. My husband found Dr. Kang through a list of dentists that take our insurance and decided to give him a try. He had a great experience so I went myself and had a couple cavities filled. And next we brought both of our teenagers. The office is clean and modern and the women at the front desk are helpful and nice. The cleanings are thorough and Dr. K takes his time to explain everything. They numb gums before the cleaning -- which was a first for us -- and they have the coolest device to check for cavities. It takes photos that he can show you before doing any work. Having been to three other dentists in the city -- and one "factory" that we took our kids to -- I have no hesitation recommending this practice. They even followed up with a personalized note and a small gift. All in all a great dental experience. read more
