I don't normally review dental clinics but when I do it's because they're amazing. Dr. Wong is super friendly and helpful. The hygienist, Jo (I think) was very detailed and explained every single step of what she was doing, what she was checking for, what part of my teeth she was examining, heads up on what might hurt a little bit. If every dental exam experience was like this, everyone would be a little less scared to go to the dentist. Also front desk staff explained costs very clearly to help me decide and know what to expect. On top of that, I went to a new dentist recently (I moved out of town otherwise I would have gone to exchange dental til I die) and forgot to transfer my documents over. I called exchange dental, they picked up immediately (in December btw, every dental clinic's busiest month), sent over my X-rays within a few minutes (despite saying it would take up to 24 hours) and I was able to forward the documents to my dentist while I was still in the waiting room. I went there once a few years ago, but still retained unpleasant memories about their practice and it was enough for me to realize that all they care is profit. After getting a full-moth X-ray Olga Sobol advised me that I need to treat at least 8 teeth if I want to save them. I was suspicious and told her I won't be treating them today but will come back next time. She insisted on starting treating them anyway because it's unlikely I'll come next time. She almost force-treated 2-3 teeth that were not problematic at all and I still regret not insisting on what I wanted. I sure didn't go back to that office and when I showed my x-rays to two different dentists they all advised that I only needed to treat one tooth and there were no issues with my other teeth. Even after informing them that I'm not interested in their services I still kept getting endless messages from their office. read more

Consistent visits later and this dental office is the best I've been to... probably ever. Dr. Wong is really great at explaining any issues or potential issues that could arise for whatever reason (i.e. old sealants from childhood, teeth slightly shifting after being out of braces for years, etc.). He's very thorough and takes his time explaining everything & answering any questions you have, which is really appreciated. Jo is the best hygienist. She'll make your day and put you at ease every time. Check in is quick, I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes, and they have a lot of Covid-safe practices in place. This review is NOT about the dentists or hygienists there (Dr.Wong is actually very nice and professional!) This review is about one of its office staff/receptionists. Got a call from the Exchange Dental group to confirm my appointment on November 9 around 11:50. I was told the out-of-pocket cost for the root canal treatment is $375, which is bit high for me. I've never paid this much before. So I told the lady to cancel the appointment for now, let me get some quotes from other dentists, cause it is too expensive. She actually sneered out loud and said "okay bye"...... what kind of cold-hearted person would so blatantly laugh at the misfortune of others? There're lot of people out there who're struggling financially due to the pandemic. We're forced to forego non-urgent medical treatments in order to feed the family. Yes, your office is located in financial district, but not all your patients are hedge fund managers. Such a snob! Karma! It always gives you back what you give to other. read more

I have been coming here for six years. Your teeth are in good hands here. I've seen three hygienists, and they've all been very thorough, professional, and friendly. When I say thorough, I mean it's like they're digging for gold in your teeth. In the last year, they put in place some protocols for COVID that have made me feel very safe and comfortable. They ask you to wash your hands and have put single-use protective tape over the faucet handles and the soap dispenser. Talk about taking safety seriously! They're also now giving everyone a protective eye covering (looks like sunglasses, but they're stick-on and single use) to wear during the teeth cleaning. I really appreciate this since I don't like the spray of water that sometimes gets into my eyes or the glare they shine into your mouth. Now that they do this, I look back on the Stone Age of when we didn't wear these things and think, man, how did we get through that? My hygienist was able to remove an annoying stain in the little nook between my teeth, and was very knowledgeable in answering my questions. I appreciate that she always tells me what she's doing as she's cleaning. I've seen a few doctors here, and they've all been excellent - very knowledgeable, honest with their professional opinions, and attentive. Highly recommend this place to anyone who takes their teeth seriously. read more

I was so grateful for the support and guidance offered by my dental assistant, Elisa. She took extra time to really explain a diagnosis and implications for me. She provided practical and easy to understand information about my the risks and benefits of several different treatment options. She provided specific product recommendations and detailed instructions on use to take the best care of a healthy tooth at risk of future removal. The doctor I met with I think his name is doctor wong, was cruel and insensitive to me. I had a major filling that needed to be handled immediately and he refused. I had to beg him for help because I couldn't leave his office with a big gaping whole in my mouth. He talked alot about what is able to do but was I didn't believe anything of what he was saying. Instead of trying to save the tooth he talked about all these nightmarish things like having a dead tooth which it is not dead and about extraction. His manner was off putting he stood above me with his arms crossed and spoke to me in a militant tone. I always expect that dentists will be compassionate but I don't think this man ever smiled a day in his life. read more

What an AWFUL experience! The worst dental group I have seen. After the fillings a year ago, my teeth is painful all the time, and then they adjusted my bitting and had a new filling, I have a irreversible bitting problem, my teeth and my face suffer the pain several month till now, they didn't find any efficient solution and the worst part is that they told me my teeth had a light cavity but they suggested me to have fillings!! Because of this, I suffer all year pain and now it can't be fixed. They charged me three time for the same teeth, overcharged as they could each time and recharged me the first time from my new insurance again. Ridiculous! The reply said you couldn't search my record. Due to the privacy, if you could ask Dr. Wong about what I said above, you will have the name. I've never had a problem with the hygeniests (otherwise I'd give this place 1 star) but twice now I have seen the office charge for line items that I never agreed to have. Some dentist offices will opt to falsify the type of xrays the patient received for a higher claim from insurance and this office is no exception. Be wary of the type xray you agree to and double check the claim that was the exact procedure they did. read more

I hate the dentist.. Always have. This was by far the best and most enjoyable experience I've ever had in my entire life. Two people recommended this for me and heard nothing but great things. I've had some poor dentists experiences so was looking to make a change and decided to take these people's words for it given I trusted them. I was not disappointed. Not only was setting up an appointment extremely easy, the office is conveniently located. Dr. Olga Sobol and The Exchange Dental Group are very personable and provide a professional environment. Unfortunately, something seems to have changed. For over one year, I visited the dentist because my wife told me that I had an odor in my mouth. They continued to say that there was no problem. Finally, I sought another opinion. This resulted in a diagnosis of Periodontal disease. Ultrasonic deep cleaning was performed, and the problem was immediately resolved. If the problem had continued to go undiagnosed, it could have posed serious health risks to me in terms of inflammation, heart disease and other factors which follow periodontal advancement. In addition, I was told that my insurance card didn't include dental - when in fact it did - just not at Exchange. For this reason, because of the misdiagnosis, and costly administrative error, I must vote them a 2. read more
