Despite having a warranty listed on their website, they refused to stand behind their work when my engagement ring's center stone fell out in 2022, ten years after purchase. I was told I'd have to cover the cost myself and did. Fast forward three years, and the ring literally snapped in half. After two weeks of follow-ups and delays, their accounting team again said I'd likely be responsible for the repair and they needed me to drop it off downtown LA. Terrible service - not surprised- and again not standing by their warranty? The lack of accountability and poor customer service made it clear: I won't be giving them another dollar. My fiance and i went to Concierge Diamonds in Downtown LA and had an amazing experience. I got a beautiful 2.01 ct H SI1 Natural oval diamond with 1.58 ratio on a size 3.5 finger. I got it in rose gold low profile prong pave. They even added our birth stones on 2 sides inside the ring. My fiance compares the experience to a wine tasting due to how thorough it was. We got to see a lot of oval diamonds and were able to look at each stone with our magnifying glass tool and also in different lighting options. The purchasing process was easy and pretty seamless, we chose the design and specs of the ring the same day we came in for the viewing (04.22) and then approved the 3d rendering of the ring through email (05.06) and then my fiance picked it up at (05.26). They're located in the Diamond District and had extensive "street cred" on Reddit, so I reached out to them to gauge their prices and customer service among other shops in the Diamond District. A few notes: 1) They only do natural diamonds, not lab grown (I was not aware of this prior) 2) They encourage you to shop around at other places first to find what shape, size, color, etc center stone you want prior to visiting. 3) Their response time was a bit longer than others (e.g. 5-7 days). We were also shopping around Valentine's Day, so it was surge timing. I would say the part of the process where they come in is really to help you source a good center stone and they can also help design/create the setting. I went to a big box jewelry story first and found my center stone, then sent the range of specs (+budget) I wanted to Concierge Diamonds. From there, they sourced a handful of stones that fit my specs and had me come in to look at them (they are also able to send you images of center stones virtually if you're looking to coordinate online). I felt like my entire experience was very white-glove; their jewelers were very knowledgeable and invested in finding the right stone for us. Other places felt less personable and in some cases, pressured us a ton on purchasing or putting a down payment down. Concierge was VERY patient and very respectful of our decisions. I also shared with them a very intricate setting that I was looking to replicate. Multiple other places I asked said that it would be difficult to replicate or did not sound confident when they said they could do it. Concierge Diamonds was the only place that seemed confident that they could make it (as long as it wasn't trademarked) and trustworthy. All in all, I would've felt very comfortable and happy creating my ring and buying my diamond from here, but we ultimately decided to go lab grown for ours. I was lucky to have Dan and his team recommended to me by a good friend when I was looking for an engagement ring. As soon as I walked into the Concierge Diamond offices, I was welcomed by Dan and his wonderful staff with genuine kindness. My initial concern of not knowing anything about Diamonds or jewelry had been immediately calmed, because Dan sat me down and offered me knowledge rather than a sales pitch. After I felt confident enough to make an educated decision, I asked Dan to pull the trigger on a custom build and less than a month later he produced a piece that my wife adores, along with the wedding band. read more

I began looking at engagement rings in June of 2018 starting with online research, eventually stumbling on Dan's reddit account. I spent a month or so reading through as many topics as possible, following all his posts and trying to learn what I could. After a couple months I started looking at stones on Blue Nile and James Allen and quickly realized that I still had no fucking idea what I was looking at so I contacted Dan and setup a phone interview. About a week after speaking with Dan over the phone and letting him know what I was looking for he emailed me with a number of stones that fit my criteria and budget. We began slowly narrowing down until we were left with the winner. From there we began designing the ring itself. Dan's assistant Aubrey helped me through this step regularly emailing me with updates and sending me CAD images of my ring allowing me to tweak the design to exactly what I wanted. Once the ring was completed it was overnighted to me and upon receiving it I immediately knew I made the right choice. The ring is a three stone setting, the center is a 2.55ct SI1 H oval, the sides are I believe .3ct ovals turned 90 degrees facing east/west. It is flawless to the naked eye with little to no 'bow tie' effect and even though its an H in color it is perfectly white in daylight. This was exactly why I contacted Dan in the first place. Looking at stones on Blue Nile and James Allen in the G-J color spectrum and VS1 and below I had no way of knowing how it would look in real life once I got it. Having a professional set of eyes inspect each diamond before showing to me reassured me that I would receive something I would be happy with. Ultimately I ended up with a fantastic ring which I am confident in saying looks better and is cheaper than the equivalent from Blue Nile or James Allen. Had I gone through either of them I would not have been able to afford a 2.5+ct stone that looked this good. read more

I can't say enough great things about Dan and the wonderful staff at Concierge Diamonds! Like many others, I first reached out to Dan on Reddit. I didn't even know he was in LA when I first messaged him. We spoke on the phone, then set up a time to meet in person. I am a complete diamond/jewelry rookie and had the mindset to only meet to learn more and see things in person after doing all my online research for an engagement ring. I felt so comfortable while I was there since he is genuinely a great guy (he even offered to get me lunch since it was around noon and I was there for about an hour). We looked at probably 7 different diamonds which he picked within my budget. He never told me the cost of each one while looking at them, only informing me of what to look for and I picked out which ones I liked the best. Turns out the one I decided on was one of the least expensive!! I told him to hold on to that one while I think things over. A few days later I called him back to ask to see a few bigger diamonds since I had plenty of room in my budget. The following week we met again and I looked at about 3 more bigger diamonds and I ended up sticking with the original pick since the bigger ones were barely any different but much more expensive. After that, we viewed what must have been 200 ring designs to try and narrow down a selection. I had 2 designs I selected and after a few days, I found a perfect design online which I sent to Dan and he replicated it flawlessly with a few tweaked improvements. The staff kept me updated throughout the whole process and actually sent me a video of the ring once it was done. I was so freaking excited and when I went to pick it up, I was even more impressed with it. I went in to this thing knowing only 3 things about the ring I wanted: 1) For the diamond to be round. 2) The ring needs to be yellow gold. 3) The ring/setting had to be unique and not just a plain design you see everybody have. My (now) fiancee is very peculiar with jewelry which made me extremely nervous about the surprise but she is in love with it and refused to take it off even though it was a bit too small. When we took it to Dan to resize it and had to wait till the following day to pick it up, she was so sad to be without it lol. Granted I don't have any experience with other jewelers or diamond brokers but after dealing with Dan, I don't think I ever will. He takes care of everything: the diamond selection, the ring design, the fabrication of it all, resizing (included), appraisal, polishing once a year and even threw in a delightful box of chocolates. I originally found this company through reddit, where the owner is a great, and extremely reasonable resource. He is genuinely interested in helping people rather than simply increasing his bottom line. After reaching out I was assigned to Kendall, who along with her, team did an amazing job with my project which was refurbishing a 20-year old engagement ring. Even though I knew my project wasn't nearly as big as what they typically deal with, you would have never known it from the service I received. White glove though all aspects and the final product was fantastic. Would highly recommend Concierge for your jewelry needs. read more
