They were just tossed from what looked to be pre-packaging from the freezer and tossed into the heater. I felt immediately sick and thought my food might've been contaminated (I have good allergies but was told these item didn't contain the ingredients). However, my boyfriend also felt ill soon after. You don't have to be a member to fall in love with this store, but if you become one, you get to help decide how the place is run. People-power FTW! What could make this better, you ask? We have a Hannafords' in town that has limited selections as it occupies the footprint of an older, mom & pop store. I have to confess I have never been to an Aldi and today was the first time as I was in Concord. It takes a little research to go to Aldi for the first time, and even when I did, there were still some surprises. The quarter per shopping cart and the dangling key seemed cosmic until a nice lady said she had finished with a cart she found in the paring lot and gave it to me. So I went inside to see what they had. I did bring several bags and cooling bags as I understood their no bag policy which I found super Super layout of staples, non-perishable items and seasonal products at very competitive prices. The fresh produce section seemed picked over and it was still mid morning. I can imagine what it must look like at 3 PM.... On the other hand, their refrigerated food, cookout items and frozen selections were superb. Wide aisles, friendly people, and nice attendants. Checkout was a breeze. The nice checkout attendant helped me with placing the items in the cooler bag. As anything related to a German company, it was quick and efficient.... I will say that, being an assiduous buyer of organic products, I can see myself coming over for party food and non perishables. However, the shopping experience is excellent.
