    Bathroom ants
    Donette B.

My recent stay at the Concord Plaza in Concord, California was extremely disappointing. The room was not clean - there were ants, cobwebs, and visible dust, which made it feel poorly maintained. What made the experience worse was the terrible customer service, especially from the manager, who was dismissive and unhelpful which in turned showed his employees how to act and unhelpful when I brought up the issues. When and if they state that they tried to call to see if I was ready to address the issue the phone was disconnected from the previous person who stayed there. Not to mention that the original agreement was that I would get ready then call- they ignored that. I expected a much higher level of professionalism and cleanliness and less ignorance. I would not recommend this hotel until they address their cleaning standards and customer service. Which blows my mind they are turning into a Marriott which I would expect more from Marriott if that were so. But it seems since my last review in 2021 they have not changed it's just worst. There are many nearby hotels that treat guests with more respect and provide much cleaner accommodations.

Came here for work conference. Huge lobby and has a snack shop and sells even beer and hygiene necessities. They have a coffee station in the lobby but was not impressive it was out of coffee and they give powder creamer, also was messy of sugar all over the counter and was like that the whole time I was here. Courtyard is pretty and the sound of the water from the water fountains were so relaxing, only thing is that it smelt very strong of chlorine. Conference rooms were very cold and ac unit is extremely loud. Bathroom was run down, and the carpet throughout the lobby definitely needs to be replaced. Parking lot is tight and packed, my coworkers car got hit from someone not looking while reversing. So be careful of the careless drivers in this parking lot.. the lady who hit her apparently lives at the hotel. Location is ideal because across the street has lots of shops and stores. I didn't stay overnight here but from what I seen I wouldn't ever book a room, definitely needs some remodeling.

We had an Executive Room. This place is Dirty AF ! The carpets are dirty the room smells musty. The carpets in the hall are stained and nasty. First time we used the bathroom sink it clogged and stayed clogged during our stay. But they don't care because they're about to totally gut this place and split it into two hotels.

Would not stay here for your own SAFETY. Stayed here with my wife because the Hilton didn't have any single kind bed rooms left. While my wife was SLEEPING at 1220am someone attempted to enter our room, luckily I always use the safety latch when I stay at hotels. Whoever this was didn't just attempt once but TWICE. They opened the door, door hit the latch, they then closed the door and REATTEMPTED to open it again. As if the latch would magically stop working. Right after this happened I called the front desk and the front desk employee response was "o it was probably one of our security" WHAT DO YOU MEAN!?!? Security or not, why is ANYONE attempting to enter a guest occupied room without even knocking, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. This is an intrusion of privacy and safety. I have never been to ANY hotel where employees attempt to enter the room without knocking or warning, yet alone doing this IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, when people are likely SLEEPING. The door opened so quickly and quietly that until it hit the safety latch it can go unnoticed. The door made no noise when the key card was used and no unlocking mechanism was heard (I was actually in the bathroom next to the door when this happened). If you are sleeping and the latch is not active you would not hear anyone come in. This is scary, especially for women traveling alone. 100% would not recommend this hotel, stay at the Hilton instead, or maybe even extended stay. I will be reaching out to the manager for compensation but this is absolutely unacceptable. My wife is now terrified of staying at hotels due to this experience. In addition to this.....the arm chair had a very suspicious uncleaned stain on it (photo attached)

    Bed bug

This place sucked. Our family went on a trip for my son's 7th birthday and stayed in the concord plaza hotel. And the first day it was all fine we went to a trampoline park, checked into our hotel, and then went to dinner and everything was fine. But when we woke up there was a living bed bug crawling around in the bed. It was so disgusting that my oldest son wouldn't even come in the room. When we went to the front desk the person didn't even seem surprised at all so it is probably happening a lot. Plus there was weddings going on so imagine having a wedding and them next morning waking up to a bed bug in the morning. Over all this place sucks and I do not recommend it at all. 1 star

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I was advertised that I was getting a really good deal on a pleasant property- only to leave for another hotel less than 2 hours after checking in. Room was in terrible condition, a motel 6 would do you better. Grout coming out of the shower, Emergency fire sprinklers in room are rotted out (unsure of the technical term for them). Back door to F building doesn't lock. We left in such a hurry that my purse was left in one of the drawers, and the front desk refused to let us check the room. Luckily my boyfriend ran around to the unlocked F building door while the security was checking the room, who then let my boyfriend in once he gave up on his search. My purse was IN THE OPEN! Indoor pool also closed. Refer to Homewood Suites Pleasant Hill for incredible stay (not sponsored).

Well today is the last day here and to be honest I'm not impressed I'm honestly disgusted on my findings. Let's kick it off with the service. The front receptionist was super nice. It's weird that online it was said we had to put down the 300 for the room when we checked in but when the lady said we had to put 500 down it's like wtf!! This was not said at all on your website. Lucky we had that amount. We got told what our room number was and got told where to go. They made it very easy for us since we have a disabled person with us so they made sure to put us next to the elevator which of course was nice of them. Now let's dive in to the room. The room had two queen beds nicely made. But wait to see the pictures of what the beds look like and what they had us sleeping on. Everything was nicely placed no lie have to give props when needed and boy did they do an amazing job getting the room done or so I thought. I wanted to check the tv and see what we were working with channel wise since we have kids and I mean for the price we paid it must of been good right? WRONG!!!!! Tv had only a few Channels just notice that regular tv gives you 5 minutes of commercials and only 3 minutes of the show you are enjoying! They don't have any updated channels here as far as tv shows to watch like Netflix, YouTube, Hulu, etc... nothing at all I would assume having a hotel this huge and expensive you would assume they have updated their tv situation so guests could log into their stuff to make it feel much better for them but I guess that's just me? Anyways let's move on with what the room comes with according the their online website. It stayed the room comes with a game system. well we got here and no system what so ever. Kids were disappointed about this since they brought a few games to play. Why state this and not follow through. Just overall I honestly think we will be thinking of staying in another place next time we have another situation like we did that we had to stay at a hotel for 3 days we will be looking elsewhere.

This is a picture of the bug that was crawling on my chest.

I grew up in Walnut Creek and we hold the California speech and debate state tournament for college at this so very familiar with it. This time I wanted to get a room because I didn't wanna drive back-and-forth where I live now to judge both days and honestly, it was a great experience. First of all how they accommodate all of these college students who do the competition in the rooms is quite challenging and things went so well. Secondly, when I decided I wanted a room at the last minute they were so accommodating. Camille at the front desk was not only quick and efficient but a great conversation list and so much fun. She made sure that I got a room, did her best to get it cleaned and ready early for me, it was super quick at follow up and follow through. The pool is nice, accommodations are great, and the staff really made it work! Thanks, Camille such a great experience.

I booked through a third-party website (Vio), but upon…read morearrival, the hotel informed me that Vio had only sent over a reservation for one king bed. When I contacted Vio, they never confirmed that information had been communicated correctly to the hotel. Unfortunately, the hotel staff made no effort to resolve the issue and offered no apology for the inconvenience. To make matters worse, the front desk host simply handed us our room keys with no directions or explanation about the property. He also failed to provide the breakfast vouchers that were supposedly included with our reservation, forcing me to return to the front desk to ask for them myself. The following morning at checkout, I asked about breakfast and was told it had already closed at 11 a.m. No one had informed us where breakfast was served or what the operating hours were. We rushed to the restaurant, where Lia kindly greeted us. She asked for our breakfast vouchers, only to discover we were supposed to have one voucher per person or have the number of guests documented on the voucher. Thankfully, after verifying the situation, Lia still allowed us to take breakfast to go. She was the only staff member throughout our stay who was genuinely kind and helpful. Overall, the staff -- including the manager -- came across as rude and dismissive. We were also placed in an ADA room that I never requested. Not only were we shorted a bed, but the room itself felt old and poorly maintained. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows were completely flat. Because it was an ADA room, the shower had no ledge to contain the water, causing the entire bathroom floor to flood every time we showered. When I brought this concern to the manager's attention, I was told this was "normal" and that there should have been a drain in the middle of the bathroom floor -- there wasn't. The only drain was inside the shower area itself. Additionally, another family member in our group booked directly through the hotel by phone and was promised both a rollaway bed and breakfast. Upon arrival, they were told neither was included because it was not listed on the confirmation. As a result, our kids had to sleep on the floor. Overall, this was an extremely disappointing experience from start to finish. I will never stay here again and would not recommend this hotel to others.

When I first walked in the room, I could immediately smell that it had been cleaned yet it did not give off any chemical smell - I am very sensitive to chemical odors and can get headaches from them. The sheets, linens, shower, and surfaces all appeared very clean. The only minus, which is why I took away a star, was some of the utensils in my kitchen area had very visible food remnants on them and one of the knives had a large thumbprint, so I made sure to take utensils from the breakfast area instead and did not feel comfortable using any of the dish-ware or drink-ware either, given the state of the utensils. This was very gross but overall I was impressed with the overall cleanliness. The man at the front desk was very friendly and helpful and made check in a breeze. The spaciousness of the room itself was wonderful and I found everything to be very comfortable. I had been able to pick out my room in advance on the app and chose a corner room on the top floor - it was very quiet despite it's proximity to the freeway. The room was dark overall but the only issue was the outlet in the bathroom had a nightlight built in which could not be turned off! I had to stack a couple things in front of it to block out the light that was very close to the bed. I stayed at 3 hotels on my fall break trip and this one had by far the best quality and best variety of free breakfast options. I really appreciate having this. As a young single woman, I felt very safe in the neighborhood when walking into the hotel late at night. I hadn't realized when booking the hotel that it was actually across the street from the apartments my brother and his family used to live in - so I knew upon arrival it was a very safe area. I would absolutely stay here again and felt the value was there for the price I paid.

The space overall was clean, functional, and comfortable. But my biggest complaint? That awful showerhead. It was grimy, leaking, and had the weakest water pressure. Definitely a letdown in an otherwise great room.... especially when a good shower is one of my top hotel priorities. The bathroom had the potential to be a vibe, but the shower situation totally killed it.

The staff were always very friendly and accommodating. There were a couple of times we had a lot of clarifying questions and they never made us feel like we were annoying them. I called them up to inquire about it, and they were able to resolve the issue and refunded me the difference. Overall, the hotel was pretty clean for accommodating pets. I think this hotel seems to have a lot of smells from food that people bring it or of cleaning products. Even in our room, it seemed the room held on to smells for a long time, and despite having the air circulating or the window open, it was hard to get rid of the scents. It also seems other reviewers have mentioned some bedbug or other creepy crawly concerns, but we did not see any for the whole month we were there. We had a studio sort of room, so it was a large space that included the bed, a small living room with the couch, dining table, and kitchenette. The kitchenette includes a microwave that also can be an oven, an electric stove, and a nice sized refrigerator. They include the basic utensils for eating and cooking, bowls, plates, cups, mugs, pans, pots, colander. There is a coffee maker, as well. They provide you with dishwashing soap but it is not of great quality as it doesn't bubble. There is no sponge they provide to wash your dishes. They do have some dishwasher detergent for the dishwasher they also have in the unit. It seems they do not do room service unless you specifically request/schedule for it. It's probably because they have pets and they need you to have your pet out of the room when they service it. Parking is free, and they provide you with a parking pass to leave on your dashboard. They have a 24/7 gym with a few key equipment, including 2 ellipticals, 1 stationary bike, 1 non-functioning Peloton bike, 3 treadmills, bench for weights, back extension. They have wipes to clean the equipment, a water jug, and towels for your convenience. There is complimentary breakfast. It starts at 6:30 am on the weekdays, 7 am on the weekends. They have someone making custom ready-to-order omelets. They have the standard coffee and tea (coffee runs out pretty quickly in the morning since this is a busy hotel for working guets), scrambled eggs (one plain, one with veggies), sausage or bacon, potatoes, fruit, cereal, oatmeal, breads. There is a bar with a happy hour as well, but they do not have a sit-down restaurant here. Fortunately, there are many restaurants close by in Downtown Pleasant Hill. Other amenities include meeting rooms, a pool, basketball court. Overall, it was a pretty solid experience at Hyatt House!

We explained to her and no, this is from your hotel that we ordered (and spent over $100 after spending a lot of money in the spa) and then she asked to verify that we were residence of the hotel and we explained yes we are doing the spa. I want to again state, This is nothing against the employees there. We clearly knew the lady was doing her job. A couple of us get out to go into the locker room to shower and change for dinner that we are going to have on the property (again money to the Park Hotel) and we noticed in the shower area, the swimsuit of a lady who was in the hot tub with us hanging by the shower. She is nowhere in the locker room and my friend notes "she is the one who complained and she must be getting a service right now" We realize that while we were in the hot tub chitchatting amongst ourselves, we brought up two points. 1) is the orange turd going to die this year and 2) why is all a certain type of people posting bad reviews on the Stranger Things episode where Will comes out to people - and SPECIFICALLY said we don't understand why people hold so much hate in their hearts and spend energy on it (this becomes ironic in a bit) While we didn't spend a lot of time talking about either of these, and they're not in excessively political, the lady I will name "Karen" in the hot tub (yes she looked like one) clearly was angry with the conversation the three of us were having and wanted to " get us in trouble" Meanwhile a man in the hot tub was super cordial and even joined in on our convo on airline preferences So this note is just straight for the Karen. We all grew up in Lafayette and we don't need your hate and toxicity in it really. I so really hope that you're not from our area and we're just visiting and staying at the hotel. You almost ruined a perfect day for us. And I wouldn't be as silent if I run into you at Safeway Hope you felt real "powerful", Karen. And sorry to the employee who had to do her due diligence and approach us

Staying in a Hotel during COVID is usually a 3-Star experience at best. During my recent…read moreresidence, everything to do outside the room (gym, bar, lounge, etc.) was closed. Other negatives were a relatively small room and having to pay for parking within a larger free lot. They did have a breakfast box (with apple) available in the morning and fresh brewed coffee on request at the front desk (a huge plus compared to those in-room packets). Other pluses were front desk staff who were friendly and helpful, and the fact that there were lots of restaurant choices (then take-out only) just across the street (or in the case of Boston Market across the parking lot). Using my Marriott Bonvoy Visa, I did picked up some travel points on the spend as well as the stay. I really look forward to using them someday soon.

Do you need to spend the night in the Bay Area because you are flying out of SFO early in the…read moremorning? If so, this hotel is the best and most inexpensive place at which to stay. Hotels in the Bay Area are expensive, and staying at them is often a hassle because of parking. Finding this Courtyard by Marriott was a lifesaver: free parking, convenient location, high-quality economy/midscale accommodations. 10/10 would stay here again. GM Katrece Raine knew that my husband and I were staying here en route to our honeymoon, and she and her team conveyed their excitement for us and made sure we felt appreciated. I score low on the sentimental scale, but I will save forever the card the staff signed for us and left in a thoughtful snack and gift basket! The hotel is so conveniently located near highways and delightful places to eat and shop. Free parking is a huge plus, as is being located within walking distance of a drugstore, grocery store, and Bank of America banking center. We had one meal nearby and one meal and drinks at the hotel restaurant. Every employee with whom we interacted was pleasant and professional, from Darius who checked us in to the folks that we passed in the hallways. Hotel pools are my jam, and this indoor pool and jacuzzi was solid. The hotel beds were comfy, and being located near the highway did not bother my husband nor me at all. We don't have cable or a TV in our bedroom at home, so let me tell you, it was a treat to chillax and watch a movie from our hotel bed. $209, tax and fees included, for one night, was a STEAL for the quality we enjoyed. Until next time, Marriott by Courtyard Pleasant Hill!
