In the process of buying our house, we needed a quote on concrete work that needed to be done in the front driveway. My realtor got a quote from The Concrete Doctor to help us in the home-buying process.After we bought our house, I left a message in late June, saying that I had gotten a quote from them and wanted some more information. We played phone tag back and forth as The Concrete Doctor tried to locate my quote. It was under my realtor's name and took a few extra steps to locate. Once I received a voicemail that told me they found the quote, I called and left a message asking how long the work could take to complete and when it could be done. I received a message saying that it could be done as early as the next week. I didn't sign any contract to hire the Concrete Doctor, and I never gave any verbal or written consent that they were hired to do the work. I was collecting information from several companies to find a competitive rate and get an idea of how quickly the work could be done and how long the project takes to complete. I was completely shocked the following Tuesday to stop by my house while running errands (we were not living at the address yet) to see that work had been done and a bill was on my door. The bill outlined work on the concrete steps for $575 and cleanup of an oil spill on the driveway for $125.I called The Concrete Doctor, very upset that without verbal or written permission, he had done work on my house and now expected payment. He kept insisting that "The work was in his confirmed pile," but that was an assumption he made, and at no time at all did I hire him with a verbal or written request. He told me that he would call me back the next day after he looked at his paperwork and talked to his workers.One week letter, I received a letter saying that I owed $575 and threatening legal action if I did not pay. It claimed that I was "badgering" him on the phone and completely lied in his letter, claiming that we "confirmed" the work over the phone. Completely disgusting response. Ron, the owner that I spoke to, was rude, belligerent, and quite frankly makes no sense. If I had hired him to do the work, why would I be upset? He made a very large assumption that an inquiry on when work could be completed is the same as hiring someone to do work. There was no deposit, no contract, no discussion of day or time that the work would be completed, no discussion of warranty information, no discussion of actually how the work would be done . . . nothing. No discussion whatsoever. Basic questions that would be asked were never addressed. I don't know what kind of people he deals with, but who would hire someone for a $700 job without knowing when the work would be done, how it would be done, how they should care for the concrete afterwards, whether the company is licensed, bonded, and insured, and what kind of warranty comes with the work? It was a very grave error on the part of The Concrete Doctor. Ron took a very bad customer service stance when he decided that he would try to convince me that I hired work that I never hired. I would be extremely wary of this business, particularly Ron. Added 8/27/12 I filed a BBB complaint, citing that I would like a $100 refund. However, the BBB said that since he took off $125 for the concrete stain and said I only owed $575, they said that he has already complied with this request. That would be a great resolution if the oil stain was gone. However, the oil stain is still completely prominent. He wanted payment for cleaning of a stain that still remains. I don't know of any industry that expects payment for work that is not completed. Ron's story also kept changing. In his letter threatening legal action, he says that I agreed to the work and I'm just upset that there was no prior notice as to when the work would be completed. Of course, this is a reasoning he's made up on his own. In his response to the BBB, his explanation is that I "forgot" about a phone call where I agreed to hire him to do the work. Seriously? I forgot that I hired someone for $700 worth of work? Buyer beware. read more

In October 2021 I hired Concrete Doctor to repair and refinish my existing, 7 year old stamped concrete patio, ~750 sf. The finish was worn and the surface faded. Additionally there were several areas of disintegration along the edge. After the surface was sandblasted (by a contractor recommended by Concrete Doctor), Concrete Doctor repaired the disintegrating areas then applied fresh stain and finish. I am completely pleased with the result. My patio looks like new, is protected from the elements, and the disintegration is no more. I have an innate distrust of concrete contractors in the Denver area having been burned by the guys originally hired to build the patio in 2015. Now I know that there are honest, competent contractors in the concrete trade. Concrete Doctor did what they said they would do, when they said they would do it, and kept me informed during the entire process. Ron and his team of PROFESSIONALS!!! OK...so my husband and his friend, who has worked in construction and said he knew 'how to do concrete', poured a front patio at our town home that was a mess from the get go. The top of the slab was not finished and so you could see rocks and aggregate underneath and it was chipping and cracking all along the surface. Not good. I called The Concrete Doctor and Ron came out to give me a quote. He was on time, able to understand the problem without explanation and came up with his recommendation on how to mitigate the problems. I hired him on the spot as I can tell when someone knows their trade and he absolutely does. We just got the work completed earlier this week and all I can say is WOW! It is a totally different look (I picked a different color for the surface refinishing coat) and I am getting compliment after compliment about this "new patio" that I had done! LOL! I was at work the day the work was completed. My son was at home and said the workers were "great and very professional". They cleaned up after themselves and aside from the amazing front patio I now have, you'd never know I had such extensive work done to the front of my home. I read the horrible yelp review below and all I can say is "really"??? You ask when the work can be done and when they come out and do it you complain that you didn't sign anything that gave them permission?? What a total scam! What I thought the entire time I read that review was "this is one of those people that are never happy with anything and always looking for an excuse to not pay for a service or get it for cheap by complaining". My experience was the COMPLETE opposite. Don't believe I am just an ordinary customer? I am a hospice nurse and mother of two. Hello, On March 23, 2015 I was awarded a settlement in Jefferson County Colorado's Small Claims Court against the Concrete Doctor, Corp. located in Lakewood, Colorado. This is a business that provides commercial and residential concrete services. The following facts represent my personal perspective and experience in contracting with the company (Concrete Doctor of Lakewood, CO) to repair my driveway in July 2014. On July 10, 2014 the Concrete Doctor Corp., Lakewood, Colorado sealed with caulking my home's driveway, sidewalk and porch. Most importantly 2 mismatched colored caulking were used and the caulking failed. The manufacture informed the Concrete Doctor that they had problems with those caulking materials. Yet the Concrete Doctor continued to use them. The grey colored caulking is bubbling and cracking. The brown colored caulking is cracking. The Concrete Doctor did not offer to correct the problems until a court summons was issued in January of 2015. We hired Concrete Doctor to apply a vinyl flake 2-part epoxy floor on our 3-car garage. Ron, Chris and the rest of the team are excellent at what they do and completely stand by their work. Our garage floor was a disaster because the house used to be a model home and the garage was used as a sales office. The concrete had just about every problem concrete can have. There were a few spots where you could still see the damage under the vinyl flake and Ron had his team come out to touch it up the next day. Not only that, they actually did a couple of extra pieces of work at no charge. I will definitely use them again for any concrete services and recommend them to my friends. read more

I'm happy with the job Concrete Doctor just did resurfacing and painting my front porch. They provided the lowest bid on the work, so I went with them. They were courteous and willing to answer all my questions/concerns, all the way from the work crew, Andy and Gilbert, to Chris at the front end, who was extremely patient in dealing with all my questions about the paint they use, etc. After the job was finished, I noticed some paint globs in a few spots and called them, so they sent out their crew within a week to redo those spots. It took Ron several months to get to the work we needed done on our front steps and driveway. He seemed friendly enough over he phone conversations I had with him. Charged $399 for silicone patch work on cracks. The guys that were sent out did the work to specifications. I other than being rescheduled a few times on their part I would use them again. read more

We had a front concrete patio poured by a contractor, who did a good job. Several years passed and I began thinking that I should get the patio sealed to prevent cracking, I am a handyman type guy that takes on most projects by myself, so I started researching products to seal my patio. I soon realized that there is a plethora of products that claim to seal and protect concrete. I also found that there are a plethora of products that got bad reviews because of peeling, fading, discoloration, etc. I decided to hire a professional to take care of sealing my front deck. The company I hired, (NOT THE CONCRETE DOCTOR) completely ruined the aesthetic appearance of the clean looking concrete patio. I wanted a clear sealer to simply seal the concrete, but the contractor I hired (who was pouring a new driveway at my neighbors house), told me the sealer they were using would work fine on my patio. They were wrong. My clean looking, natural-colored concrete patio now had dark stains, that also had thick areas of sealer, it looked like puddles of shellac, dripping over the edge of the stairs, etc. It looked terrible. I called about 5 concrete repair companies for help. The general response from all of them way that they could not help and could not refer me to anyone that could. I soon realized that almost all of them were in the business of sealing new concrete and could not help with salvaging existing concrete. Discouraged, I started trying solvents and strippers to do myself, it did not help remove the sealer applied by the POS contractor I originally hired. Non of the products I tried worked, I even tried stainless steel brushes, nothing worked. I started researching for help, I came upon the Concrete Doctor and called for help. Ron showed up on a Friday afternoon and immediately saw my problem. He informed me the only way to remove the sealer was to sandblast, he referred me to someone, I had it done and it saved my front patio. Ron and his crew came in later to apply a stain/sealer, he also sealed my garage and driveway to prolong. It now looks awesome again and we are relieved to have it salvaged and aesthetically pleasing again. I can not stress enough that if I had not found Ron, I don't think anyone else could have rectified the problem. He was honest, straightforward, knowledgeable and friendly. He came out promptly was candid and straight forward, very knowledgeable. He gave me a quote that ranged depending on what material was actually needed. This guy is horrible. The crew he sends out will try and complete the work when weather conditions are poor, and then screw up the concrete. He sent his crew out three times, and they messed it up worse each time. They resurfaced a section of concrete and stopped in the middle of the section, like painting half a wall. The last time he showed up he delivered the sealant for me to seal the driveway myself! I didn't pay him for me to do the work. This guy and his incompetent crew is horrible. read more

I would not recommend this business to anyone! Bad quality of work. Resurfacing of concrete does not last even a few months. Quite pricey for bad service. Owner not pleasant when discussing problems.
