We moved into our home in 2019 and wanted to get our garage floor coated before we moved in. We searched the internet and found Anthony and American Floor Coatings. Well, we should have waited those 2+ months, because it's been nothing but problems with this floor. Anthony installed our garage floor in spring 2019. The top coating was very runny and did not give a good coverage. In an effort to fix this, Anthony added an additional coat, but it only increased the puddling at the bottom of the step. I expressed my dissatisfaction with the finished result, but he refused to take any additional steps to remedy the situation. The next year, in early fall 2020, we noticed that the apron of the floor, which is exposed to the sunlight and weather, was yellowing. I called Anthony and he explained that they found out they did indeed use the wrong top coating product the previous year. He said he would add us to the schedule to come out and redo the apron with the correct product. After multiple attempts to schedule the work, he eventually got back to me, but it was too late to do the repairs due to the cold weather, so he said he would do it in the spring. I contacted him in the spring of 2021 and was told again that he would add us to the schedule. It is now August 2021 and we haven't heard from him since. In the meantime, the apron of our floor not only has yellowed, it is fully wearing away. We feel we should not have to hound Anthony to honor the lifetime guarantee of his product and service. Do not use American Floor Coatings. Terrible service.

Marian is super friendly and was very accommodating to my schedule especially given the delays with Covid. When it came to installing hardwood in the bedrooms and sanding and staining the floors, I'm really pleased with how they turned out. Marian provided two basic stain samples, but if you wanted something different expect to go and do the mixing yourself and tell him exactly what you want. However, part of my job also included replacing my baseboards which did not turn out quite as great. I think there might have been confusion in my expectations and my walls aren't completely straight, but I wasn't prepared for the number of imperfections. However, know that if you get your baseboards done ask questions and expect there to be extra work after installation. Overall, I would recommend if you are just doing flooring and Marian is super easy to work with and cares about your satisfaction. He made it right when I expressed frustrations. Just be sure to ask a lot of questions if you are a novice at getting your floors done.

Out paint was already badly peeling. We contacted the company and they said yes, this was their issue and they would correct it. Now, 7 months later, the issue remains uncorrected and they will not return our calls, texts, or emails. I am left to believe this company is a scam. Beware.

Three times Joe promised he would come fix the issues and three times he was a no show. And all three times when he didn't show up, he ignored multiple calls and texts from me. I definitely regret using these guys. By, the way, I'm not sure they use the name A-Genesis Hardwood-Remodeling hardware any more. I found this page by googling the phone number. A-Genesis is not an active company according to the State of Illinois but Joe is definitely still active.

Bill was very polite, called me over the weekend to set up the time and said he'd go to the jobsite to get his guys started and then come and meet with me. He just sent me a text message (not even dignified enough to call) at 8:30pm the night before saying "We are currently too busy to take on any new jobs until September. Call me early summer." Bill is what gives contractors a bad name. Sure he might do good work, but he does not respect people's time and schedules. A simple, "Sorry, would love to help you, but we are booked through September" would have done fine at the first call. Terrible customer service and I imagine this speaks to how you might be treated as a client if he did manage to get in your door.
