I love it here. Wednesday evening wasn't crowded at all. I enjoyed my Cactus Juice mocktail & the pineapple infused guacamole did it for me. The tacos were the star of the show. Thai Chili Tofu & Veggie Chorizo on firecracker taco shells. They were the build your own tacos so I added an array of random ingredients that matched perfectly! The art on the walls here immediately caught my eye. Taco heads, ghosts, horses, futuristic etc very colorful aesthetic paintings. The bartender Tony was super helpful, gave me great suggestions, & never left me unattended even with him holding down the entire restaurant. Ok. I struggled with this one. It's a chain, but with only two locations in Ky., this was my first experience. We were there for lunch. The good: building is cool, the garden salsa is excellent, the bar has a cool vibe, the server Whittaker was TOP NOTCH. The bad: seating is metal chairs for a specific fit that are uncomfortable for what I would guess is most people, the food was on the low end of meh. My husband had the carne asada burrito and there were several bites of grizzle that definitely makes it difficult to eat. I had the chicken bacon ranch burrito that I selected based off its note on the menu. When I bit into it I got a mouthful of cheese that I could not recognize as cheese. It honestly tasted like mayonnaise. Both items were room temp to cold - definitely not hot. There was some situation with what I'm guessing was the manager and a trainee. We waited a bit to be seated, the phone was ringing at the hostess stand.... Finally we see the (guessing) manager and trainer. They walked to a table to assist, motioned to us to wait, phone finally quit ringing with no answer. Our EXCELLENT server made recommendations on the margarita flight and flavor selection. He put the order in, and the bartender (trainee?) walked off. He never got behind the bar again. Our server had to go behind the bar and make the drinks which were good. I hate to give this such a low score because I cannot praise this server enough. He really had me walking away not hating this place only because of him. I wish there was an app to just rank servers because I would score him 5/5. However, I feel he deserved the entire check payment and not just the tip I left. Our server Whitney was amazing! She also has a fun sense of humor. The GM Justin greeted us and came by to check on our experience. The margarita's were good. We also had the Three Buds (queso, pineapple guacamole, regular salsa). I ordered the Lucy, and the Chicken Bacon Ranch taco, and my daughter ordered the Brisket sweet heat. The food was probably the best Mexican I've had. So many innovative, fun twists on traditional Mexican cuisine. Refreshing! The atmosphere was colorful, and laid back. Went on my break from my own bar & sat directly in front of someone cashing another bar guest out. No "hi" or anything. Watched that person walk out to smoke. Someone else walks by & asks if I ordered, they say someone will be right with you. Seeing that they are in no hurry & knowing I have to get back to work I go ahead & start leaving. Apparently the bartender was outside tending to patio tables, fine cool I get it, I'm literally a bartender. As I'm walking out he says "sorry I was just out here working" snarkily. I tell him it would've been nice to have been acknowledged by the person I sat directly in front of & he says "you apparently have a high level of hospitality" I'm assuming he meant standards but whatever cus yes I do. Don't know anything about the food as I didn't get anything. Went to Grimaldi's & even though the bartender was running around, I was still acknowledged. Service was good. Food was straight up bad. Protein bowl was advertised with 61 g of protein. I would say there was maybe 10g of chicken buried under 2 inches of cabbage and cheese. A 2" layer of plain white rice under it. False advertising and flavorless. Also tried a couple tacos. Really over-complicated combinations, with weird sauces that were cold and unappetizing. Served in a tiny basket, resulting in mess. I have never had bad tacos until now. Barely ate any of it because it was not good. On top of that I had an upset stomach immediately. Visited with a large group, and the Condado staff was able to accommodate and handle us very well! (Definitely recommend making a reservation beforehand for large groups). I ordered a Build Your Own Bowl with the lemon kale base and roasted portobellos as my "protein". As part of my toppings, I asked for rice and beans, which is shown on the menu as $1 extra for each. Unfortunately, the bowl arrived without the portobellos, but was still overall a tasty meal. The bowl was not as large as Chipotle's, but I did appreciate they had several sauce options -- I went with the chimichurri. read more

Love the interior, there are so many cool artists that were part of the design! Not your typical Taco place. THe place was very bright and beautiful with colorful paints and wall posters. My favorite thing to try here is the build your own taco option. There were numerous things to pick from, and I tried to make mine look as authentic to a Mexican taco as possible, but it didn't come close. I have been spoiled by eating lots of authentic tacos, hence this place didn't satisfy the required taste. But I do believe that people who like Americanized version of Tacos would definitely like this place. But for me, this place only gets 3 stars for food. read more

The service was very friendly and efficient, however, the food was at best average. The tacos were full which is nice but the shells even fresh out the kitchen were on the soggy side. I've been meaning to come check this place out since it opened. The Summit is a great place for any business, especially in the summer when people enjoy walking around and soaking in the sun. Location wise, Condado is nicely located and has ample parking for folks. Once I arrived, I was greeted by the hostess and she helped walk me through the menu. I ended up doing a build your own nachos with the Plain Jane + Bad Habbit tacos. I did order to go, but the food was not what I was expecting at all. The nachos tasted like "hardened paper?" I don't know how else to describe it lol but I do know that I will definitely not try that again unfortunately. Both the tacos were okay, neither of them became a favorite. I was expecting more from this place since it just opened, but because it's still fairy new I guess they might still be working out a few kinks. The inside of this place is really nice!! And looks like a great place to watch UK play and grab a drink. Since I didn't have a chance to enjoy the inside, I do want to stop by again and try their margaritas for the next UK game. read more

I was very underwhelmed with my experience here. From the outside, it looks like a trendy, upscale specialty tequila restaurant. There are cute Edison bulbs in the outdoor seating area. Inside gives off more of a casual vibe with vibrant graffiti murals on the wall and big sports screen TVs. The menu offers a moderate variety of American-ized tacos. At the bottom, you'll find a Build Your Own Taco/ Bowl/ Nacho option. Individual tacos seemed to range from $4-6/each, while my BYO Bowl was $11. The service was good and the food was delivered fast. We got the Elote Queso (half portion- size) which came out room temperature and didn't taste like anything special. My bowl was bland and flavorless but my bf said his tacos were decent. What I'm most upset about was paying $32 for a pitcher of margaritas that came out looking like Mello Yellow and tasting like a Walmart brand sour margarita mix. When we got our bill for $61 I was shocked (not including the $12 tip for a waitress that checked on us three times). We triple checked the bill because the whole experience felt like a fast food/ quick bite vibe with a sit down dinner price tag. The food is served in paper bowls with plastic sporks. Overall this was a less than exceptional experience and we won't be coming back. Glad we tried it & now we know. read more

While staying overnight at the hospital and of course it being "Taco Tuesday", I wanted a taco. And boy did I get one! I got the sweet Lucy and it was unbelievable! Now I know I was starving but being a California girl I am here to say that was one heckuva a taco! All the ingredients were so fresh, I had the Tex mex meat, but I will be back for more! Condado's is a build-your-own and specialty tacos concept that seems to be popping up everywhere. The food is outstanding and the location in the Summit is perfect with plenty of outdoor seating. I highly recommend their margaritas and chips and dips with multiple quezon, guacamole, and salsas to choose from. Their build your own tacos, bowls and nacho section provides a seemingly endless list of possibilities. On this trip we had the smoked cheddar queso, a build your own bowl, Korean BBQ taco, and a build your own nachos. Definitely with a visit - Condado Tacos will become a regular stop! read more

Loved the bright atmosphere and super friendly wait staff. We sat outside on a beautiful spring evening. When it threatened to rain, we were assured they would find us a place to sit inside, but fortunately that wasn't necessary. I didn't love the blood orange, but they have so many flavors so I would try others the next time. Zai was a great server! She was super friendly and helpful. There were three of us eating dinner. The total bill before tip was $43.35. We shared an appetizer that had 4 tots with cheese for $7.50. One person had two tacos for $10.20. No sides. Another person also had two tacos for $8.20. No sides. Then I had a taco bowl that cost $15. Oh and we all had water to drink. Food was decent. Chipotle and Moe's is much better. Ive come in parties of 2, 3, and 8, and every single time its as if the servers forgot we existed. We come back for the triple dip appetizer, because its pretty good, but not for much else. My times here have been a little mixed. 1st time 4 stars, 2nd time was Lex Taco week and was 2 stars. At least 1 time since back to 4 stars. So I'll just give it 3. They do have some good vegetarian/ vegan options. It costs a little more than some other places. I think it's pretty decent with some unique taco options for sure, but I really like Agave and Rye more that's right down the street (they have unique options too) so I end up going there instead. read more

Umm. Not good. It's not all bad, their chips are very good, maybe fried fresh. Their salsa though is mostly tasteless, queso and quac get passing grades. That's about all the good. Oh they have beer and drinks, and that's okay too. Now about their tacos. Condados and other similar taco centric restaurants (yeah you Taco Luchedor) offer a taco that's a mash up, literally, of American tacos (a'la Taco Bell, Del Taco) and authentic tacos from a Mexican taqueria. The result is a discordant mess of off putting Mexican adjacent flavors stuffed into a combination soft flour/hard corn tortilla. Taco Bell and their ilk never sought to be authentic, they gave us Doritos loco tacos and made no apologies. Ever have a Taco supreme at 1 in the morning, in a word, sublime. Equally excellent are the tacos at a great taqueria, Al pastor, carne asada, barbacoa, and lengua on two corn tortillas dressed simply with onions and cilantro. Restaurants like Kogi Korean BBQ who were successful introducing a spin on the beloved taco simply changed spices and veered from the traditional proteins. If you want something more upscale than a hole in wall taqueria, go to Noches Mexican barbecue on Bardstown road. Unfortunately that's in Louisville. If you absolutely have to stay in Lexington, drive by Condados and get a Mexican pizza from Taco Bell, yeah they're back and tastes much better. read more
