We used Condor Airlines for our recent vacation to Germany. We chose Condor because it is the only nonstop flight from Portland, OR to Frankfurt, and because of the relatively low cost. Overall, it is unlikely I will fly Condor again. Please see detailed comments below. The Good: 1) The economy class seats had decent legroom, and were wide enough. 2) Most of the staff were very nice and helpful, with one notable exception (see below). The Bad: 1) The flight from PDX to FRA left two hours late. We missed our train connection to Karlruhe, hence arriving very late to an imnportant appointment. 2) The return flight, FRA to PDX, was delayed by three and a half hours. This may not sound like much, but this feels like an eternity for the last leg of a very long travel day. 3) The desk agent in FRA was very rude. I expect she was having a bad day, due the the lateness of departure. On the other hand, I have not experienced this kind of nastiness from a customer service representative in recent memory. The Very Bad: 1) While we were delayed in FRA, Condor personnel roamed through the waiting area, randomly picking out passengers, and assessing additional fees for overweight carry on luggage. We did not get assessed, but one man I talked to had to pay an extra $100. After boarding, it was clear that the flight was 75 - 80% full. Clearly there was no reason for the overweight carry on assessment other than to gouge some more money from the passengers. read more

The plane had technical issues they knew about before we checked in. We were not notified about the delay until we got to the airport. 5 hours after we were supposed to take off they cancelled the flight. The next day, 14 hours later, they had not fixed the plane and did not notify anyone the flight was cancelled until 2 hours before takeoff was supposed to be. We had to pick up last minute tickets from Delta and paid 3x the price. Customer service was impossible to get ahold of and the workers at the desk knew nothing. I'm still waiting for a refund but no one on their end will return contact. Avoid this airline at all costs- or it will cost you so much more than you expected. read more

Arbitrary 6 Kg carry on limit that is different from every other airline on Earth and not specified anywhere where it would be easy to see. There is no VOLUME limit (other than the normal one), so it's not about space. The bag is going to be on the same plane (or so I hope), so it's not about total weight. And anyway it's the same plane everyone flies with the same bags. You cannot even goddamn pay extra to get your regular carry-on bag on board (I asked), so it's not about the money. I'm sitting at the SFO airport (San Francisco, California) after the first leg of a trip I booked via Condor was canceled. Condor failed: (1) to inform me of the cancellation, therefore I arrived on time for nothing and I'll spend 9 hours at the SFO airport; (2) failed to give the carrier of the canceled leg my email/cell therefore the carrier was not able to reach me as well; (3) refused to help me re-book the same flight with AVAILABLE seats 4 days later; (4) forced me to fly the same day and spend forty (40) hours traveling from California to Europe - not counting mentioned 9 hours at the airport; (5) refused to let me talk to the supervisor when I expressed my dissatisfaction. 2 days to get to Europe - unacceptable. I flew on Condo the end of June from Anchorage to Frankfurt. On my return flight the airlines had destroyed my luggage. It looked like it got stuck in some type of machine because the outer hard shell was crushed. I filed a complaint via their website as I was told. I received an email asking for specific information, which I gave. Four weeks later I have heard nothing! When I tried to email them back to check on the status, again I received no response. Finally I called the airline and spoke to "Patrick" . He was rude, told me I had to be patient and wait longer. When I asked if he could check the status of my complaint, he again said I need to wait longer. When I asked to speak to someone else , he said there was no one else to talk to. When I asked him for his last name or employee number he said he has none and I again. needed to wait and be patient. Needless to say I ma very disappointed. 100% I wish to NOBODY!!! Have you ever been **cked up because of airline company mistake??? So you will support me in here: 7th July 2018 10:30 AM I arrived by connection flight from ALANYA (provided by Onur Airlines) to Frankfurt Germany where I supposed to change my plane and happily continue to Cancun by Condor Airlines with boarding start at 12:30 - that's how it supposed to be... How happened? I've spent 3 nights without my luggage in Frankfurt airport denied for boarding to my flight by Condor Airlines with no intention from company to find a solution or even to apologise. On the boarding they asked me to show them a "VISA" for Mexico which as Russian citizen I don't have to have - it's VISA on arrival. Assure you I know the procedure - it is not my first flight to Mexico. When I checked everything and mentioned for them their mistake registration crew started trying to ignore me, shout at me, cursing me in italian (which I don't know). Completely unrespectful for customer and even human. They called me: "psycho" and run from me trying to reach a manager or supervisor of Condor. It supposed to be hilarious if not fact that I could'nt pay for new ticket and I haven't got my luggage so it was horrifying to stay in cold Frankfurt Airport for 3 nights trying warm myself on waiting rooms chairs and wash myself in WC. But I can lie and write whatever - right? Flew business class (which admittedly may have made all the difference) from Seattle to Frankfurt and couldn't tell at all that this was an "economy airline" other than the awesome price. I had never heard of Condor, and am preferential to Lufthansa, however there was no other choice but to fly it (according to our friends at Travelocity). I was slightly scared by reviews I was reading online about broken credit card readers, rude staff, and food that appeared to be fished out of the garbage. Like I mentioned, there wasn't much of a choice and once the confirmation email came, my fate was sealed. At the airport, the fear melted away, however, and gave way to utter excitement about the journey ahead. I was delighted by the customer service both on and off the ground. The food, pleasantly enough, isn't a hot plate of garbage, but is completely edible food. Inflight amenities are par: Better than a domestic flight in quality, but not better than Business Class on, say, an international flight like Korean Air. To get specific, if you're thinking of upgrading to business class, there are choices for dinner including vegetarian, seafood and red meat options and about 30 free movies (2 free movies if you're flying coach). Breakfast is one thing plus your choice of breakfast carbs. Pretty standard: No Celebrity Chef, no avant garde presentation, no authentic cultural cuisine... just alright. Same with the bathrooms. Same with everything else: You get a blanket, some headphones, a newspaper, etc. The movie selection is meh and there are only a handful that can be considered "newly out" on rental so if you were hoping for the latest and greatest, you can weep silently in your seat. There's some gems in there for sure, tho (Gravity, Civil War, The Jungle Book, Deadpool). A few snags: there's no wifi (boo!) and no acknowledgement of Pre-Check so you'll have to take your shoes off (note to self: next time wear matching socks! #adulting) and remove your computer from your bag (a move which I did not see coming otherwise maybe I wouldn't have put my laptop with my underwear) Once through all the bomb sniffing dogs and the TSA groping around in your shirt for drugs (haha, just kidding... Or am I...?), you're free to make your way to the S gate which is 2 train stops away... And really quite pleasant. Business peeps might be interested to know that the Lounge (between S8 and S9) is fairly spacious and has enough seating to accommodate all the folks looking for free crackers and a quiet place to sit, and then some. There's not much in the way of food-food, but there are snacks and if you're #alwayshungry like me, you'll be happy to know there are soup and rolls. Don't have much else to say... Is there a way to leave no stars??? Just booked a flight from Seattle to Florence (thru Frankfurt) with Condor based on great price - should have checked reviews first! Checked all my details before hitting the payment button then everything froze - after quite some time (and seeing that they had charged my credit card) I exited out of that screen. Then I got an email confirmation and they had spelled my last name wrong. No customer service phone number that I could find on their site so after looking one up, I called to get my name fixed. After verifying every piece of identifying information that I could, they told me they couldn't make that kind of change and would have to cancel the reservation. Great! Fingers crossed that I get the promised refund but no apology or anything - may be a blessing in disguise as I now won't rebook with Condor and have to fly with them! Caw Caw..... read more

Terrible customer service. I purchased 5 first class tickets. A lot of money! My son's seat did not recline at all!! It was worse than sitting in coach. I have been flying long distance for the past 30 years. Condor airlines broke the record as the worst flying experience in my life time. Based on customer reviews, I would not have made reservation with this airline, but I had a child in the hospital, needed to get back home with the next flight. Not sure how reasonable the ticket prices are, I paid over $1400.0 for one way ticket from Europe to US. Most disturbing of all was how the crew members did handle the passengers as they were transporting hogs. Did follow two heated discussion between flight attendants and the passengers. Perhaps it wouldn't have been this terrible if the flight wasn't over 10 hrs. I needed to use my best coping skills to not pay attention to constant body touch with the fellow sitting next to me, the rattle of my seat with every move and we both were on the normal body size. With the other fellow in front of me recling the seat that I experienced claustrophobia. Terrible entertainment programs with extra charges. I decided to deal with the situation one hour at the time. This is my first 10 hour trip to Europe. I took the Seattle to Frankfurt trip and it was amazing. The flight attendants worked very hard to make sure we were served dinner with wine if the passengers preferred it. They came round again to give everyone one water. Several hours later we had breakfast. And yes I had the little package with the ear phones, ear plugs and some other things to make the trip comfortable for me. If I had to do it again I would definitely choose Candor Airlines. read more

Condor is the Spirit Airlines of international travel, which is just another way of saying that they are simply the worst. I used them to fly to Amsterdam (via Manchester, from LAX) recently, because the flight was significantly cheaper than other airlines. I got a great deal, but I don't know that I would fly Condor again. I'd almost rather shell out a couple hundred bucks for a better airline. Admittedly, I went into it knowing that it was a budget airline... I didn't exactly have high expectations, but I was still disappointed. I present to you, ladies and gentlemen, the top 10 worst things about this airline, in no particular order: 1. They don't ever notify you to check in for your flight. What the hell guys. The only thing I EVER received was my initial booking confirmation. Not the end of the world, but seriously, what airline doesn't notify you AT ALL about your upcoming flights? Even Frontier (who I used to fly to LA) sent me about 3 different emails. 2. Once I remembered to get online and check in for my flights, it would only let me check in for certain portions (despite being within 24 hours of flying). Why give me a reservation code that's only going to work half the time? 3. No ability to pick a seat, or even pay to pick a seat. I'm not sure if this was related to my flight or an error on their mobile site, but it didn't work either time. As soon as I checked in it assigned me a number and said "seat change requests unavailable". Had the flights been full, it would make more sense, but probably 1/4 of the seats on my first flight were open. Luckily I got good seats, but what if I had been wanting to pay for a better one? The way they nickel and dime you over everything else; I find it hard to believe that they wouldn't want to take my money... 4. Ridiculously low baggage weight limits, especially for international flights. And yes, they'll weigh your carry on and fine you for it being overweight. I packed light and was fine, but I watched 3 different people in front of me shell out $100+ for overweight carry-on/overweight checked bags/excess luggage. Ouch. 5. No wifi aboard the flights, nor the ability to purchase it. 6. Very limited TV/movie/entertainment options. Even if you decide to spend 12 pounds for the "premium package", (I didn't) there wasn't much. It really didn't seem worth the money. 7. No free drinks. Yes, that includes soft drinks, not just alcohol. I'm on an 11 hour flight and you're going to charge me two pounds for a fucking ginger ale?! 8. Oh, did you want to buy something? I hope you don't have a Visa card issued in the US, because it will get declined, and they will not take AmEx or other CCs. They do accept paper money, but not coins. On the flight there, the attendant tried my card, told me that their system had been declining U.S. cards for some reason, apologized, and let me keep the wine I had purchased. On the way back, the same thing happened, except that this attendant was not as nice. -"Your card is declined" -"Ugh, that happened on the way here too. They said it was a glitch in your system because it's a US card. I think that must still be going on" -"No, it's your card" She kept implying that it was somehow MY fault that their scanners were not accepting my card, despite it happening to many other people around me too. Rather than being nice about something that was obviously a glitch on their end like the first attendant, she took the snack box, which I had already opened, and the wine I ordered away from me. I was SO hungry and so sober and so sad. Also, if you've been having a glitch with US cards, I don't know, maybe address the problem or MENTION it to passengers? 9. Confession: I don't ever usually mind airplane food. It's like a weird guilty pleasure. So it's significant when I say that the free meals they offered were truly, truly awful. 10. Very limited communication between employees, apparently. On my way there, my checked bag was transferred from Manchester to Amsterdam without issue. On the way back, they would not transfer our bags from Amsterdam to Manchester, saying it was because the U.S. was our final destination. So, we had to go through passport control, pick up our bags at baggage claim in the UK, change terminals, check them there, and go through security again. There were about 6 of us in the same boat and we all almost missed our connection. They had already closed down check-in/bag drop for our flight, but the desk agent was able to call someone and make an exception (the highlight of my experience with this airline). Then she said that they never should have made us pick up our bags at baggage claim, that they should've transferred all the way through. Still not sure which agent was right. Ps. This was initially going to be a 2 star review, because as I said, I do realize that this is a budget airline (albeit a particularly shitty one.) But I'm still butthurt about the flight attendant taking my open snack box away. read more

This airline is far inferior to every other I have flown with. Here's the story. My sister and our boyfriends left from Spokane to Seattle at 9:40AM. Our flight wasn't until 4:45PM. Based off the traffic report we should have arrived in Seattle at 2:30PM. We decided to be safe that we needed to get our boarding passes online. Unfortunately when we tried to do that it said there was an error. We were able to get the passes for connecting flights but not the first one. What we didn't know was that, while the traffic report said there was to be no construction or hold ups, they failed to mention that they were setting up for construction. This delayed us by an hour and a half. We were in such a rush that 50% of the people in our vehicle peed in a cup! We have never once been late to a flight. We arrived at the front desk at 4PM, panting and sweating, only to be told we missed check in by 15 minutes and we couldn't get in. Our plane wouldn't take off for another 45 minutes but there was nothing they could do. One lady, very nice, she gave us a number to call saying "you need to talk to them and see if they can get you on another flight," So my sister called, she was on hold for 10 minutes. The person on the phone basically told her, too bad try finding another flight. That was that. So we told the lady at the desk and she said, "That's not right. You need to get someone bossy on the phone and have them get you onto new flights, this has happened before and people were able to get onto flights." So me, the most 'bossy' without having a bossy bone in my body, gave them a call. I was also on hold for 10 minutes. A girl named Tina answered. She told me the same thing. I said, "I'm sorry but that is not good enough. May I speak with a manager?" (I felt bad for saying even that!) She laughed at me and said sure one moment. She put me on hold for about two minutes and then HUNG UP ON ME. So I called back, (on hold once again for 10 minutes. I spoke to Tina, and told her I was supposed to be connected to a manager but I was hung up on. And she said, "Yeah well there are no managers." I asked if there was an email or phone number. "Nope." Okay well thank you. The biggest issue was that the employee did not even try to help or find us new flights. We would have spent more money if she had just tried! They lost a good $2400+ by not helping their customers. I had no other way of voicing the issue or complaint other than submit it to their website. I never heard back from them, and neither has my sister. We will be persistent though, and hopefully someday hear from them. The service on the plane was also far inferior to other airlines. Everything was uncomfortable. Food was indeed pretty bad. I am unlikely to ever consider Condor again, unless they take responsibility. read more

Ok so we flew to Frankfurt direct from Seattle on 6/25. We purchased premium 2 months prior. The price was amazing especially compared to any other airline which was simply cost prohibitive for the class I desired on a long flight. We left Frankfurt to Seattle. Check in process was easy, friendly staff. Gate check in staff were friendly and gave directives appropriately. Upon boarding the stewards were friendly and attentive. They feed you a ton of food (2 full meals) so you will not be hungry and the drink service is constant. Movie, tv and radio selection was excellent and I was actually able to find 3 movies I hadn't watched and complete them all. Because of all the bad reviews I think I was particularly aware of all possible downfalls to expect but I think the other complaints are from people who really don't understand all of the complexities of travel. Honestly there is no part of this trip that was bad. Everyone who works in Condor was kind and helpful. I've flown tons for work on United, delta, Alaska, southwest, Lufthansa and I can honestly say I would totally fly condor again! read more

Dear Condor, I traveled from TLV to CUN via Munich on DEC03 and has been almost one week since my luggage have been missing. By today I want to remark the lack of professionalism and empathy that the company is assuming with this matter. None seems to care about the fact that I'm in vacation for the holidays, travel half of the world for my best friend wedding, lost the special coustum made items for this event, and have been without ANY clothes for almost one week just waiting for an answer, compiling forms, spending lot of time on finding the best price on emergency items, calling, sending emails without NO response. Lucky me I have my credit card to be actually able to purchase. Seems that the person in charge in Mexico does not have any relative information and, when he does answer the phone, cannot provide accurate and useful information about the luggage, the procedure and, most important, where is the bag and how come the website shows that the baggage has been send the day after via Madrid to Cancun (new route UX1516/04DEC UX063/04DEC, MADRID BARAJAS APT / CANCUN / CANCUN), which means that it supposed to be at Cancun and still nobody knows where is it. This is for me a red light on how trustable is the company in securing the clients belongings. We took a flight from Portland, Oregon to Frankfurt, Germany, where we were to connect with a flight to Athens. The flight out of Portland was hours late, and we missed our connection to Athens. Although Condor put us up for the night in Frankfurt, the earliest flight out the next morning was too late for our Athens to Santorini flights. Thus, we missed a pre-paid night in Athens, and had to spend almost $1,000 to get new flights to Santorini. Despite almost one year of phone calls and dozens of emails, we have not received any kind of response other than "we will be in touch with you," "your request is being looked into," and finally, "an email response was sent to you via email on May 25, 2018" which it was not. Despite subsequent repeated phone and email requests that they "re-send" the alleged May 25 email, we have not received any further response other than two departments telling us they "cannot access" that email and cannot read it to us or even re-send it to us, and when referred to the customer service department that supposedly sent the email addressing our reimbursement request, they continue to ignore us and will not respond or "re-send" the email. It is the WORST customer service I have ever encountered in my life. The flight staff were wonderful, but the corporate employees have tarnished this company's reputation. Even a simple response of "We are sorry you missed your connection, but we cannot reimburse you" would have been enough if they had promptly responded to my original inquiry, rather than playing games for almost a year. I would NEVER even consider ever flying on this airline again, and would sincerely recommend that you find an alternate carrier. read more

Just returned from a Seattle to Frankfurt round trip. I've read the other reviews and, to be fair, my experience was not as bad as others. The flight to Frankfurt was what I would expect from a budget airline: mediocre service, bad food, but I got there on time and deplaned. However, the return flight was a nightmare: food worse than dog food and, unbelievably, 2 of the rear rest rooms were shut down as being "out of order." I'm sure some of my fellow passengers peed in their pants in the long line waiting for the one restroom available. Finally, (not Condor's fault) avoid going through Seattle passport and customs control if at all possible - a 2 hour nightmare. read more

I travelled to Orlando to attend a friend's wedding. My luggage did not arrive and I needed to purchase clothing for the events. After multiple calls with the airline (local operator) and the office in my own country (NL) I was finally told to purchase what I needed. I did this in stages because each day I was told by the local rep my luggage would be arriving later that day. After a few days they started telling me they had no idea when it would arrive. The luggage never arrived in Orlando (not while I was there). My suitcase was eventually returned to my home address 9 days after I returned to home. I have been back for a month now, and still have not been able to reach someone to compensate me for the additional expenses. I have been sent from Condor to Thomas Cook to Thomas Cook UK and FlyBE then to Thomas Cook "post-travel" and then back to Condor. Phoning does not help either, waited more than 30 minutes on hold each time before hanging up. Finally got hold of someone on the 4th attempt, only to be told I need to reach out to Thomas Cook (to clarify, I purchased my Premium flight ticket from Condor). Maybe this is a deliberate tactic. Frustrate me so I give up, or delay it long enough for some deadline or statute to expire. read more

Very bad customer service - 3 hour delay to Frankfurt caused people to miss connecting flights, then no one to help people figure out how to rebook missed flights. Initially excited about Condor opening a route from Baltimore to Frankfurt this summer. Difficult to book online though. Won't take AMEX. Need to phone your bank to authorize Visa card charge because the charge is made by Condor in Germany instead of a US-based subsidiary. You don't know what seats are available until you pay. So you have to phone them again to make sure they have four close together (because of 2 small children) before you go back online to pay. You cannot book business class seats online so you need to phone them again. Three weeks after booking I get an email informing me that the flight times have completely changed. In a small foot note I am informed that Condor will not be flying the route themselves after all, but has decided that the flight will be operated by Omni. Omni is a small charter airline with 11 planes. If you phone Omni customer service on a Wednesday at 10am to find out what type of plane will be flying the route and what seats are available the receptionist will tell that everybody is in a meeting. When you then decide to phone Condor to cancel the flight (these are $9000 business class tickets) you are informed that they are not refundable. I have since booked Lufthansa flights in economy class from Dulles to Frankfurt (as I have done many times in the past). You can do all you booking online, select your seats online before you pay, and use your AMEX card without having to phone your bank. You also won't have your flight times or carrier randomly changed. Or worse. Who knows want is going to happen on the Condor Baltimore - Frankfurt route over the next few months? Could they cancel your flight altogether and leave you stuck just before your vacation is supposed to start? It wouldn't surprise me. Don't get sucked in by the seemingly good value (they are cheaper than Lufthansa). Condor in the US is not ready for prime time. read more

Condor has been the single worst customer service experience I have had in my life. The flight itself was ok the real issue is with the lost baggage. I called the "customer service" number listed on their website to be told that they do not handle lost luggage and that I needed to call the airports I flew to to find my bag. I called Amsterdam and Frankfurt and guess what I found my bag. However, it has been 3 days and Condor refuses to put it on their air plane to send it back to me in Minnesota. I tried contacting the customer service center again and was told again that the customer service department does not handle, and was told I need to talk to the complaint department . The only kicker there is that the complaint department does not have a phone number. The client reps response... The only way is to handle by email which I have sent 3 and have just got a default generic response for over a week now. If you choose this airline, please do not check your bag as you will be stuck for hours on the phone or sending emails or calling European airports trying to resolve the issue yourself. read more

The flight was pretty average, but their website is terrible! It is a German company, and they do have an english version of their website, but it doesn't let you see the flights you've booked! There is not a "my profile" page for the English website. So, you have to go to the german one, and use chrome to translate everything each time you refresh the page and some things don't even translate well so it's confusing. I tried to check in the day before like you're supposed to be able to do, but they said I couldn't. I don't know if its because my first flight was through Alaska Airlines (booked through Condor) or what, but they didn't even have a flight number or reservation number that I could use to check in early through Alaska Airlines. It was really annoying and slightly disconcerting because it made me feel like I didn't have reservation. One in the terminal and on the flight I was pretty comfortable. The flight wasn't booked clear full so I had an empty seat next to me which was nice. They gave me free bottles of water whenever I needed and even left them when I was alseep (this was a 10 hours international flight). The food was okay, but again German so it wasn't really to my taste. I would recommend bringing snacks. read more

Worst customer service ever. July 22, 2018, out of Minneapolis was delayed for 2 days. No customer service available at the airport or by phone. We were forced to rebook on another airline and expected to be compensated by Condor (like any other airline would do). We received no response. We will begin seeking legal counsel. Flew from Portland Oregon to Frankfurt and then to Athens. Flew with my wife and 3 kids aged 4,2, and 1. Baggage arrived 11 DAYS later. Complained online and received 1 email saying they are reviewing the matter. Never heard back. Spent over €1000 getting diapers, clothes etc. Vacation was basically ruined. Most of the people who are happy with airlines, product, service, dentist,, what ever ....don't take the time to write a good reviews. But flying with Condor saved us a LOT!!!! on 2 tickets from San Diego to Prague via Frankfurt. After we booked our flight we have noticed lots of bad reviews, ouch! ,....but we were pleasantly surprised . Hence - 5 stars for a big saving on 2 no problem flights !!!!!! The plane 767 looked good, very clean, very smooth ride, 2 meals with soda, coffee or tea , alcohol was extra. Seats spacing was just fine for an average size person.( 5'10" 175 lbs) Seats did recline ( one review said they don't) and were quite comfortable . Personal entertainment screen had a selection of only 2 movies, and 2 TV shows, plus music for free. Bring your own headset or pay $4. Staff was very polite and helpful , the food service fast . Meals about the same quality as any other airlines. Edible. On the way to Frankfurt our plane was 1 hour late to depart. (Waiting for some delayed passengers) . But we had plenty of time ( 5 hours for lay over in FRA) On the way back to USA at FRA there was a confusion at Condor gate. There were 3 long lines . Many of us were standing in the wrong line,had no clue... the airport employee didn't do very good job explaining why we had to scan our passports once AGAIN when we had our boarding passes in our hands,ready to board ... so much for German efficiency. But over all "no problema", we will fly with Condor again. read more

My travel agent booked Condor and I upgraded to Premium Economy for the flight from Seattle to Frankfurt. I needed wheelchair assistance so I checked in at the counter and was given a boarding pass and (after a lengthy wait for assistance) was taken to the gate. Shortly before boarding, I noticed that the seat assignment on my boarding pass was not the same as my reservation. I waited in a long line and finally got to the desk where I was told that they had changed planes and there was no room for me in Premium Economy and there was no room in business class. I complained vigorously and was joined by several other people (many needing wheelchair assistance) with the same complaint. They asked for our email addresses and told us we would receive our money back and gave us a $25 gift certificate to use on the flight. As a result, I spent the 10 hours barely able to move because the seat in front of me was practically on my legs! On the way back I paid for an upgrade to business class and one of the servers was so rude that I eventually had to speak to the cabin manager (who was very nice.) I will NEVER fly on Condor again and am surprised Thomas Cook is affiliated. read more

If I could give Condor airlines a -100 review, that's what I would rate this, unprofessional ignorant airlines of all time. The reason behind this is because my husband flew to Israel to say his good byes to his dying father and 2 weeks later bought a one way ticket back to Seattle with a stop in Munich, Germany. He never made it past security with hundreds in front of him checking in to Munich airport. He missed his flight because the airlines stupid estimate of 1 hour overlap time for an international connection. There was no conceivable way he could make it to the gate in time and had to run around the airport with a broken back asking where he could get another flight. One specific lady at the information desk who was nice enough to be honest with us about the situation told my husband that if there is a connecting flight and not enough overlap time that it was the airlines fault for estimating the time between flights incorrectly. With security and finding the gate, there was no possible way he could get to his flight in time. She told us that the airlines should refund us the ticket "AND'' issue him a new flight. But she did mention that this information didn't come "from her". Knowing pretty well this happens all the time and the airlines always gets away with it. Everyone that we spoke with regarding this issue had something different to say each time. Two representatives said that we can pay a penalty fee off 400 dollars to issue a new flight but we had to go to through the airport to do that. And the airport would tell us to call back the airlines to pay that penalty fee. No one was on the same page and customer service was very, very bad! One Condor representative even shut the phone in my face and would cut me off every time I would try to explain the situation. My husband and I were on the phone for hours on end with no way out other than to purchase a 2000 dollar ticket with 2 extra stops, one in Iceland and the other in New York. Which he ended up doing in the end because he had no other choice. A couple thousand dollars later with a 24 hour wait in Munich, Germany, a whopping 40 hour flight beginning to end he makes it back with a promise to never book with condor airlines and to let everyone know that they never refunded us after speaking with 12 condor representatives and 2 condor supervisors. And will continue to make a bad name from themselves instead of resolving there own mistakes. This is not to say refund every person that has an issue with this airline. But to understand that behind a successful company is great customer service and being able to take responsibility for your mistakes. To at least offer a discount on the second ticket! Don't book with Condor airlines, save your money and always check to see if you have enough overlap time in between international flights! read more

We flew with Condor from FRA to PDX and back. We have had our 8 month old baby (lap infant) and our dog (in cargo area) with us. Both flights were delayed due to problems with the plane (AC broken on our way to the US which resulted in a 2h delay while we were boarded already, the cabin felt like a sauna with over 100F outside, our poor dog in the cargo area! / plane overbooked in business class on our way back with re-seating passengers). There was no service during that time like providing the passengers with water in the heat. As a breastfeeding mum I requested water frequently and was DENIED it mid-flight on both routes! The crew was unfriendly, brief and didn´t care much about our comfort nor the comfort of our baby (we have tried to get Premium Economy seats). The food was horrible, it´s pasta with tomato sauce both ways on a 11h flight. The in-flight entertainment is a joke, even with the upgrade (which costs 10 EUR per passenger) it´s not any better since there´s nothing interesting to watch (no new movies or shows). The seats are very uncomfortable, there is no head rests that can be adjusted. Bringing a travel pillow is a must. But the worst part was the transport of our poor dog: we have picked up a very stressed dog in FRA whose muzzle was raw and bloody! He must have been trying to get out of the kennel in panic. What caused it unfortunately remains unknown. Also, since given ice cubes (recommended by the airline staff) instead of water, suffered immense diarrhea (due to enteritis, my friend is a vet and examined him right after we got home) and was literally swimming in it in his kennel. The diarrhea also contained a lot of blood for days after the flight, we had to put him on antibiotics and infusions to help him stay hydrated and heal. Condor´s customer service is a "zoo", nobody feels responsible for anything there and we just got forwarded back and forth to different agents for several days, which is why I end up writing this review because we certainly will NEVER fly with this airline again - EVER. My fiancé and I flew BWI to Frankfurt. It was cheaper than the other carriers but we chose it primarily because it was the only direct flight out of the area into Frankfurt. Based on reviews we upgraded to premium economy and it was well worth the money. We got priority check in and boarding as part of the package and at BWI that helped us out a good bit. We had a different check in line and the other line was much longer. It also gives you a bit more when it comes to the weight of the luggage you can take. At BWI they weighed both our carry on and checked they only weighed the checked at Frankfurt. Boarding is very disorganized but at BWI we boarded prior to the non priority passengers. Keep in mind that 25% of the plane is premium. On our planes there was no first class. Both flights were operated by Thomas Cook and the planes are very old. There are no outlets, no wi fi and you do not get a seat back TV. In premium class there are tvs throughout but all showing the same movie and depending on your seat you may not have a great view. They bring around magazines for you to read but the only one in English out of the 25 choices. The amenities kits were decent and different both ways. Both had socks, toothpaste, an eye mask, a toothbrush, headphones and ear plugs. But on the flight there we got a nice fold up cloth bag and back we received a reusable water bottle. The blankets and pillows were good. You have the option to pre book your meals do that. You will get served first. They served two meals and a snack both flights. The food was average and only served in premium class, but it was as expected. The choices were a bit repetitive . Alcohol is free. Premium class there was 9 rows in the 2, 3, 2 schematic and there was a bit more leg room. I'm 5'1 but my partner is 6'4. He would not have been comfortable in the economy seats. On the way there it was a red eye and there was a lot of dinging bells and pilot interruptions making it hard to sleep. The flight back from Frankfurt was delayed almost two hours due to some catering mix up. Priority boarding was meaningless there because you have to board a bus and drive quite awhile to the plane. Everyone got on at once. We had to stand in the rain waiting to board on the airfield. We had bulkhead sears as they were all that were left together. But by the time we got on there was no room anywhere near our seats for our carryons. We had small book bags and it was frustrating to have to store them rows away from where we sat. Priority luggage retrieval is also a joke as even though marked priority it does not come out first and we waited almost 30 minutes at BWI. The crew was great though friendly upbeat and attentive. Overall I would recommend this flight on this route for the price you can't beat it but do upgrade and be aware of some of the potential quirks. read more

Be careful flying Condor from San Diego to Frankfurt as it appears to run late consistently and there is a strong chance you will miss your connection (unlike British where it is easy to make a one hour connection). I know of four different groups now where this has happened. Their check-in process is a mess in SD, long lines for Economy but zero lines for Premium or Business. No gate info and not necessarily friendly either at the ticket counter. read more

Worst ever!!! If zero was an option I would give the airline this! Seats I paid for were moved and my minor child was expected to sit alone for a 12 hour flight! When I called to change back to my original PAID UPGRADE I was refused and not allowed to even talk to a supervisor. I have never seen such bad service in my life. This is THE WORST airline I have ever flown. It started w/ ground crew being "temps" from some agency. They had nothing invested in the company so being rude didn't matter. Flight crew was from Condor. But that didn't help when the plane was 1.5 hr late leaving. Leg room & seat size the smallest I have ever experienced. The meal which cost extra was mediocre at best. No wifi onboard. TV & movies were also extra. Reading lites didn't work for several hrs into the flight. The longest & most uncomfortable trip I have ever taken on an airplane. The return trip was not as bad. One can't change seat size, or pitch. The food was much better & each seat had a bottle of water The ground crew,their own this time was still inept. The boarding procedure is unbelievably slow-at least 2x longer than comparable airlines. We boarded a bus & waited for at least 20 min for no announced reason, drove around a couple of buildings to climb a stairway which led to an interior jetway to the plane. The plane was late leaving but made up some time & arrived only 20 min late. This was the 2nd time Condor gates were makeshift & not user friendly. I purchased these tickets last minute -the prices were lower-but I would not do it again. read more

On June 1, 2015, flew Condor Air back from Germany. The flight was cheap for "Economy Premium" but the service and food was just as cheap. I pushed the call button twice during my 10 hour flight, do you think anyone responded? No, all 4 flight attendants sat on their butts in the back of the plane ignoring not only my call button, but 5 others as well throughout the aircraft. Who knows how many others they ignored on the flight. Drinks we very limited, you could only get a free drink if you ordered it from the cart when they came by. If you went to the back of the plane to get another drink, "outside the service" they charge you for it, and that in "Premium Economy". Tickets cost about $300.00 more per ticket for the Premium Economy over Economy class. Also. I upgraded our meals for $20.00 per person, that was another joke!!! Pasta or Beef for $20.00 per person per flight. Also, 4 restrooms, 2 on each side of the aircraft, located in the rear of the plane for 250 passengers plus to use on a 10 hour flight. As you can see from my rating, I will not fly Condor again and I certainly do not recommend them to anyone. read more

I don't even want to give them one star! This is the worst airlines we have ever flown!!! Smallest seats that are hard and uncomfortable with zero leg room!! My husband is 6 foot + and he literally could not even fit in his seat--his knees jammed into the seat in front of him. The seats recline a good 4-6 inches so by the time the person in front of you reclines theirs, you literally cannot move. We flew with a child and if something got dropped, she couldn't even reach between the seats to get it. The food was awful --even the upgraded food we paid for! The child's meal was gross but had a giant (melted) Kit Kat bar plus 2 other desserts on it and and a sugary drink. Way to go Condor!! Now the poor parents have to keep that kid in their seat for 10 hours!! By the time we purchased upgraded meals (which were still bad), movie access(free on most other airlines) and seats with more legroom, it cost the same as a British Air, Swiss Air or Air France flight. Do yourself a favor and book one of those instead!!! read more
