We put in an offer on a home and before we knew it were taking the next stpes towards owning a home. Our first step after signing was to have a home inspection done. Our realtor recommened Len and we agreed. He arrived promptyl, greeted us and gave us a qucik run down of what he was going to do. He invited us to follow him arround as closely as we want and to ask as many questions as we want. He already arranged for the radon air tests to have been and collected them at the time of inspection. Len walked through the upstairs, checking out closets, wall, electric outlets and more. He used a heat sensing camera to determine how well the house held heat and to check the insulation. He even climbed into the attic, with the ladder he brough, to see how thick the insulation was. He has a full box of tools to get the job done. He checked water pressure and temperture. He inspected and tested all of the appliances. He did the same for the woodstove and pellet stove. He then combed through the basmen including the boiler, furnace, hot water heater and flooring. He explained in detail all the things he was loooking at. He walked through the garage and the exterior, inspecting the stairs, decks, doors and hot tub. A day later we recieved his report. It included ltows of pictures, an easy to understand and well detailed guide of everything he found. He even made a suggestion for more thorough inspection of the roof. He was so easy to work with and his expertise in his field is eaasily evident. His price is slighlty higher than average but was well worth the extensive work he did. It's a little hard to tell the exact quality of the inspection until we've lived here for a few years, but it's been over 6 months now and it seems like Blue Lobster was spot on about everything they looked at. We felt they were incredibly thorough (even calling out things like some mold on the underside of the refrigerator water dispenser) and also didn't make us feel too scared about the things that they did find that were not up to snuff. We got a solid picture about the house, and a great, thorough report, that we were also able to give directly to our insurance provider so they could see what they were insuring. Very polite gentleman, I assumed to be the owner, came and we spoke at length. Our house is ranch style which makes gutters and exceptionally simple matter of installation. The price for materials was reasonable, though I'm sure there were other options available. We simply wanted basic gutters that would go well with the house, instead of the more colorful or elaborate options. The nature of our house allowed the job to be quite quick, under 3 hours, and the people who came to install them or polite and respectful of the property. They made a point of asking if they could use the lawn to lay out materials so they could make the appropriate cuts and measurements. All said and done I think it was well worth the cost and a worthwhile investment since most people fail to realize how much water comes off of a roof and can create muddy situations on their lawn and surrounding property.

Well, hate to say this, the initial workmanship was very poor. We had screens installed over our…read moregutters, I bet that the worker did not suspect that I would climb the ladder to look at install! I took pic's and sent to owner who was very shocked and responded the next day. He replaced the poorly installed screens and now they look professionally installed. He also redid a % of my neighbors install, which he had installed himself....hmmmm. I wonder how many other installations that have not been inspected by home owner are shoddy, a fair question. Not only that, but there was a hideous popcorn texture I hated and wanted covered. At first there were issues covering the remaining texture, but he persisted in finding a solution, and it was done to perfection. He found a painter on short notice, too, for completion. Greg was pleasant to work with and responded quickly, however the quality we received was far from professional grade. I was invoiced and told the job was completed. When I got home I found cracks and voids on more than one inside corner, proud and sunken screw holes, and joint mesh exposed and not feathered out. They sent someone to fix it and again said everything was all set. I found more proud screw holes and more exposed mesh. They came back again and seemed like they did everything so I paid in full. My first coat of paint exposed tons of "fish eyes ", small round voids in all the joints. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend using this company.
