My first tattoo should have been something dainty, like a sunflower, but no I decided on a wolf, an alpha female wolf. I met with Raul, and let me tell you it was a great experience. I was very specific as to what I wanted. I showed him how I want my wolf to look, feral. Raul was able to figure out my personality and provided suggestions to match me, which was satisfactorily. The outcome was awesome. I returned for my second tattoo, which I felt was a masterpiece. Four alpha wolves. Raul worked with me, I was very specific, each wolf is a part of me, my 4 sons. It was a great corroboration. He also did my grandson, it was awesome. He's such a great artist, very meticulous, and knows his art. I guess it is true, once you have your fist tattoo, you'll want more. It is addicting. My next tattoo will be sunflowers. I waited quite sometime, with much trepidation but I have no regrets. Terrible Experience, Would Not Recommend I recently visited Connect Ink for a tattoo, and my experience was incredibly disappointing. From the moment I walked in, I felt unwelcome. The staff seemed disinterested and unfriendly, which immediately put me off. The tattoo artist who worked on me was inexperienced and did not seem confident in their abilities. They struggled with the design I wanted, and the final result was far from what I had envisioned. The lines were shaky, and the coloring was uneven, making the tattoo look amateurish. Additionally, the shop itself was dirty and unhygienic. The equipment did not appear to be properly sanitized, which is a huge concern when getting a tattoo. I felt uncomfortable and unsafe throughout the entire process. Overall, I would not recommend Connect Ink to anyone. The lack of professionalism, combined with the poor quality of work and unclean environment, made for a terrible experience. Save yourself the trouble and find a reputable tattoo shop instead. read more

My girlfriend came to visit for New Years and wanted to get some tattoos done, I called 2 shops that both said they wouldn't take us as walk ins before I came across this hidden gym. When I called connect ink jay answered and told me he would be able to fit both of us in before she left back out of town, both my girlfriend and myself absolutely loved our experience here the staff was great, made us feel at right at home and really brought our ideas to life, we both had the pleasure of being tattooed by jay, and let me tell you, this guy knows his stuff! Great detailing and fine lines, and really knows how to back the black! I had an amazing experience training with Simon during his 2-day tattoo course. I came in with absolutely no prior knowledge of tattooing, and he did an incredible job breaking everything down in a way that was easy to understand. Day 1 focused on lining and Day 2 on shading, and both days were very informative and in-depth. Simon is extremely knowledgeable and patient, and he really takes the time to make sure you feel comfortable and confident with each step. Him and his daughter were both so welcoming and kind, which made the whole experience even better. The environment felt very supportive, especially as a beginner. I'm leaving this training feeling confident in my skills and knowledge, and I'm so glad I chose to learn from him. I came here this past weekend to see about getting my forearm tattoo done. It was a lighthouse tattoo to honor my late father who passed away last year. The guys at Connect Ink blew my expectations out of the water. Not only did they create exactly what I wanted, but they also treated me like I was family. Customer service is top notch, atmosphere is super chill, all the artists do seriously amazing work. I will be coming back to this place for all my future tattoo's. Really can't thank Johnny enough for his work and highly recommend him as an artist to do your tats. The owner is an awesome guy as well. He made the experience one to remember for a lifetime. I just gotta say I've got quite a few tattoos from good friends over the years but could never find a portrait artist I trusted enough to do the work I wanted. Bumped into a friend while watching my kids play in the marching band at Mayfair hs football game (GO MAYFAIR). She turned me onto Johnny Tapia work she had done so I checked it out. I was super impressed with his skills so I made an appointment and got started. Took 8 and half hours and he knocked it out without and issue. This place is full of friendly artist who all know what they're doing. David who is the artist that did my tattoo (which I'm ecstatic about) was very social and very open to what I had wanted to get. Even on the spot changes from what I asked for originally he took and made it better. I got a chance to meet the owner and another artist and they made me feel very welcomed there. This is a really great tattoo place! They have great artists in the shop! They have a free estimate on how you want your tattoo to look like! They draw it out for you and then when you are ready you can go on in to start! Before starting a tattoo you have a paper you have to sign knowing that you are adding a tattoo! But nice people in there too! They are always open everyday 12pm-8pm! Go on in to their place and see them! Trust me its like you don't have to wait to get your tattoo done! I was greeted by Jay, in a mask, immediately had my temperature taken which put me at ease, and he worked with me to get an incredible tattoo. This spot is definitely a hidden gem in the bellflower area, it was very inviting and welcoming as soon as we walked in. Jay set us up with our paperwork and our quote, which was very reasonably priced for what we wanted (i believe their shop minimum is 80$). Prepare...this is a long one. My first red flag was the…read morefact that there are no tattoo designs on the walls when you walk in. All painted artwork and awards only. 2nd red flag was when my artist clearly didnt prepare for my design although reference photos were sent prior and a photoshopped sketch too. I had to reschedule. Be very clear on what you want. Verify every detail before the sketch is done into stencil. Dont assume the artist will be using artist skills. Also, dont fall asleep during your session...you may wake up with a bad tattoo. My 3rd red flag, the appointment time comes and he prints out my photoshopped sketch from the previous week, I assumed (my fault) he was going to put some artist flair onto the plain design, such as using a johnny depp photo on the side for reference or something but nope. I fell asleep...I woke up (yes the artist has a light hand) to the tattoo not looking like the design. Or even the stencil. Stencil still on and clearly unable to follow the stencil at minimum. I thi k maybe its just my angle and sleepy eyes. Take photo and go back to sleep. I have other tats, many and all my other artists have put a little flair of themselves into the design, and would pull up a side photo if necessary, even ask me more questions. NOT out right not follow it. To top it off, when I stood to break from the session, the artist looks at that tattoo and makes a face. (He knew what he did!!)...I walk to my car and take a picture in natural light...and notice alllllll the issues. I was supposed to have an edward scissorhands theme on my thigh. My artist did not know who edward scissorhands was nor did he get the concept. Such as scissor hands!! I have like 3 blades on a hand. The face is warped and flat. His feet are completely different and look like moon boots. When I expressed that for the rest of the piece (3 sessions scheduled) I would like more attention paid to the hands face and feet. The artist claimed he would need more space for that at least 4x4 for the face. But will try his best to make it how I like. I was about to drop 1500 on this piece. And he knew what the design was before. Seems like he bit off more than he could chew. And now ive got one drunk sloppy edward on a sidewalk that isnt right. I canceled my appointment and was never contacted again. I eat the deposit and take the L on this. I didnt follow my gut feelings nor did I stop him when I thought he went outside the lines. (My view initially was skewed because it was upside down and I kept falling asleep...again my fault). Im embarrassed to post the photo but hell I walk around with it. Im not saying they are all bad. Just not great for these kinds of things. Also would like to state this took 6 hours. And he took many breaks and kept having to shake out the hands. A lot! I have a sleeve done and that took 6 hours and barely any breaks and no shake outs. Overall im bummed. Haven't fixed or finished it. Just walking around sour.

All my questions were answered , during the process (I've gotten big pieces ) Shellsea (my artist ) has always checked in between , and provided me with breaks . Ben , has also been very professional and helpful. Over all, it's a great establishment , the artists all have a very good vibe , as does the shop. I have gotten all my tattoos by artists here , and will most definitely be returning !!! Shellsea is the absolute best ! For my biggest piece , she took me through the whole process from the design all the way until the end of the session with lots of ease .
