CT Basement installed our radon system back in 2010 and we have used their services ever since. When the old radon fan broke earlier this year, they ordered a new fan and took care of it in a timely fashion. The technicians are always prompt, reliable and courteous. Most recently they serviced our water aeration system and I forgot to give the technician a coupon they had sent me. When I called the office, Joanne immediately gave me the discount and then followed up by email with a new receipt. I highly recommend them for their excellent customer service. read more

One of the worst customer service experiences I've ever had. I confirmed appointment to replace air mitigation fan 3 weeks prior to appointment, received confirmation call the day before appointment. Day of install (9am appointment), technician called at 9:45am to tell me he didn't have the fan and wouldn't be coming. Steve (I believe he's the owner) claims he ordered the part to arrive for 9am delivery to their office the day of my installation, it didn't show up, and therefore it's the manufacturer's fault. Why, with 3 weeks notice, would you order the part for 9am delivery the same day you've told a customer you'd be at his house at 9am for install? I'm a reasonable person, but Steve was short, unapologetic, told me to find another company and hung up. Just an awful experience and terrible customer service, recommend steering clear of this company. read more

Had a high radon reading in my basement after I ran a First Alert test - 52pCi/L versus a recommended maximum of 4. CT Basement installed a system for $1300. Initial post-mitigation level was just above 4. They came back immediately and added to the system. Next test still came in high, even higher than before. Once again, they came to add to the system with no additional charge or argument. Finally the system tested at 0.8. This company gives a really good 5 year guarantee and in my experience they cheerfully stand by it. read more

The fee quoted on my original estimate 6 months ago was the fee that I paid today. I recently moved into a home that had poor water quality and radon in both air and water. After talking to several companies, I elected to hire CT Basement Radon to fix my problems. It was quite an involved process, but I'm happy to say everything has been completed, and all my re-test results are great! Dealing with the office was a pleasure...they were quite patient with my many phone calls leading up to the project. Ralph, Glen, Eric, Nick & Ryan were all very professional and took the time to explain to me everything they did. They were neat and the work looks great. I had them install a new well pressure tank. They were the original installers of my radon system in my house for both air and water. The two workers carried out my old tank up my stairs and proceeded to dump gallons of water down the stairs over carpeting. It was a joke to get them to clean up the dirty brown water that spilled. I had them use my own shop vac and fans. Not only that, after they left the pressure tank was leaking water; which they came back and repaired. The carpet was stained and still wet. I called manager Steve who never returned my call for two days and was anything but apologetic and was difficult. It got so combative to the point that I hung up on him. I will never use a company that is so poor in customer service, not good at their skill and tries to make you feel grateful for giving them your business. Find someone else. read more

These guys installed a radon mitigation system in our new home. After moving in, to ensure efficacy of the system, we installed several 'smart' radon monitors. The radon levels were elevated - above 4. We called Connect Basement Systems Radon with the results and asked that they come out to review their installation... The ensuing dialogue was among the worst customer experiences of my life - the representative was evasive and shockingly rude. They refused to come out and assess their work. We are paying another contractor to remediate their work. read more

About the worst company you can do business with. They lie, pull bait and switch and don't stand behind their work. After spending $4000 for a radon system I had the water checked myself and their system didn't get rid of the radon. They then wanted me to spend $5000 on a better system than the one they recommend in the first place. Expected me to spend $9000 on a system that cost me $2400 from a reputable company. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. Bad people that will grossly overcharge you and leave you exactly where you started. read more

I've used these guys before to service a GAC radon/water system however recently they've become frightened of the radioactive charcoal tanks and decided to blow off a morning appt for which I had taken time off from work for. After we called them there was no apology for the blow-off and they requested we shut off the scary radon system for at least 30 days before they'd replace the tanks ostensibly to allow the Chernobyl-core carbon to degrade naturally(that's a joke btw). That's their concern for your health folks! Just turn off your system and expose your family to 30 days of untreated water... I work with radiation and have many meters with which to measure the ridiculously small field at the tank surfaces (and they absolutely should too!). Akin to electricians without multi-meters with no knowledge of electricity. I guess I'd be scared too if I didn't know better. Find a company who does have a clue. read more

This year, at my annual service appointment, I had a major service complaint involving damage to my property. The company owner has failed to return repeated phone calls attempting to resolve the issue. I will never use them again. read more

these guys installed the original radon mitigation system 16 years ago, so when the gauge showed no vacuum, i called them for a new fan. it took three weeks to get an appointment, but i didn't find any other company doing this work. they were scheduled for 9:30 am, and arrived at 11 am, never calling to explain the delay. they were done in 10 minutes. they charged $476 to replace the fan, which is available online or at home depot for $150. and the vacuum gauge registered less than one [up from zero, of course]. i asked xavier about the low reading and he said he didn't know what the reading was before the fan failed. i said he should know, because he [the company he represents] did the original install. xavier noted that he was still in preschool when the system was installed and thus ''he'' couldn't know. when i suggested that the company should have that information, he became more confrontational. i paid him and he left. totally unpleasant experience. wish there were an alternative. read more
