There were very very few pieces of trash or rocks. I ordered 7 yards and estimate they dropped 8-9 yards instead. I called on a Friday afternoon and they said it was no problem getting the material to my house on Monday. Then Monday was raining hard so they called to check if I wanted to push the delivery till Tuesday. I said that would be great if they could promise to make me one of the early slots on Tuesday, they kept their promise and showed up at 7:45am! I really appreciated that extra thought and consideration. I would highly recommend their materials to anyone!

This is the second year I'm under contract with Westmore for auto-delivery of heating oil. I left…read moremy prior provider, Robison, because Westmore's rates were much more competitive. My review is based on the fact that I am set up for auto delivery with Westmore, and recently, they failed to auto deliver heating oil in time. My thermostat the last cycle was set no differently than usual. While the temperatures some days last month were extremely cold, Westmore should take that into account when determining when customers' tanks need re-filling. Most importantly, in the four years I was under contract with Robison for automatic delivery, they never missed a delivery. To Westmore's credit, once I notified a customer service agent that I was without heat, a technician came two hours later and provided me with 15 gallons of heating oil - enough to get me through until a truck came to fill the tanks the next day. But it wasn't that simple. Because Westmore allowed the tanks to run dry, the technician had to bleed the boiler before it could start up again. All of this occurred at 8:30 pm, I had to let the technician in to service the boiler, show him where the tanks were, etc. Was it the biggest ordeal ever? Obviously, not. But it was still an ordeal, an inconvenience and frustrating given how easily avoidable the situation should have been. When I'm under contract, for which I am paying fees for automatic delivery in the first place, it should never happen at all. Perhaps instead of using an algorithm for calculating heat usage, which obviously was not accurate, they should utilize a Wifi-equipped tank monitor, as Robison would, so that they can be certain when customers' tanks, such as my own, need to be refilled. I called the next day (prompted, in part, by the fact that I received an invoice for the 15 gallons of heating oil that they provided at 8:30 pm, which just seemed to be in bad taste given what had occurred), and I was informed that they have adjusted the algorithm they use to estimate my usage of heating oil. I appreciate the attention they gave, but it's disappointing it happened at all (again, I never had this experience in four years previously with Robison). I am hopeful that this is a one-off incident.

A week before Christmas, my boiler started leaking a bunch of water. I was hoping I could repair it to get us through the holidays. I contacted the company And asked them to come look because it was leaking quite a bit of water; they requested that I send pictures. I sent a picture and without even seeing it in person, they diagnosed it as unfixable and insisted that it needed a full replacing to the tune of nearly $15,000. I was absolutely horrified; I immediately burst into tears and explained it was a week before Christmas. Not only did they not offer financing but they wanted half of that upfront to even get us on the schedule and the rest on the day of installation. I was absolutely floored at the cold and callous nature of the company after being a customer for years. The secretary on the phone initially was fairly rude, but felt bad for me as I was sobbing and said she would call me in the morning with my options and see if we could get creative with financing; never heard back from them ever again. We ended up taking our business elsewhere, getting a cheaper price, and getting very reasonable financing. I have a lot of sympathy for the office at companies like this because I'm sure they get screamed at all day, but I just could not believe how we were treated; asking for 15 K when you didn't even lay eyes on the item is pretty crazy and asking for half of it upfront the week before Christmas is even crazier. They also could not give me any kind of timeframe on how early they could come out to my house and offered zero assistance with the fact that copious amount of water were leaking and how to manage it. Really sad customer service after so many years as a customer.

We called the emergency service and got the same rude woman and told her we have a small child and our older parents staying with us so we need oil for hot water. Two weeks ago, they came out to fix a bathroom tub leak. I was charged $1,300 to replace the cartridge, handle, and spout. The parts cost around $250, and the job should have taken less than an hour, but they stayed for about four hours because they kept getting the wrong parts. They came back last week because the tub was still leaking. This time, they said I needed to replace the shower base where the cartridge goes and quoted me $3,400. I declined and asked them to put everything back together, but the leak was actually worse afterward. What bothered me most was the lack of transparency. I asked for a breakdown of the charges and was essentially told, "That's just what we charge." After almost spending nearly $4,700, I feel I could have had the entire tub area remodeled by another company. I also recently tried to cancel my membership and learned that it's a one-year contract and that canceling early may require paying back the discounts. That was not my understanding when I signed up. I'm extremely disappointed with the pricing, communication, and lack of transparency. I'll be taking my business elsewhere and looking for a company with fair pricing and clear, honest billing. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Service Stars based on my experience.
