Dealing with Connie's alterations was the most stressful part of my daughters wedding. My daughter bought a sample dress and brought it to Connie for alterations. After at least 7 visits with Connie saying 'we'll take this up', then 'we'll move this down' and without measuring the dress was unwearable for her actual wedding day. She never measured either how much things should be taken in or my daughter. The alterations done were in the wrong spot and too much and or too little. All of the back-and-forth caused so much extra wear and tear on the dress. We paid a significant amount for the alterations to wind up not being able use it at all. Connie seems like a very nice person, the problem is she doesn't measure to see what the adjustments should be and then guesses incorrectly. Her confidence in her ability to guess is very misguided. Please check out pictures and videos for examples of the problems with the 'finished product'.

Connie is such an incredible seamstress! I found my dream wedding dress secondhand - the only problem is the dress was two sizes too big and had sleeves. I showed Connie my inspiration photos and let her work her magic!

Connie is so sweet and welcoming! She is so patient to listen to any concerns or requests that you have. I came in about 4 times for my wedding dress fitting, and she was such a pleasure to work with. Great pricing too!

I love my dress, and I loved Connie! She tailored my dress exactly the way I wanted, and I received so many compliments on my wedding day!

I come here for alternate my wedding dress from my best friend recommend. Connie is very sweet and listen for what I really want. She takes her time and be patient with me in every step on my decision. The dress comes out perfect on my special day. The price also affordable. So once again thank you so much Connie.

Connie turned a plain-ish jumpsuit into this great, 2nd outfit -- added tulle, sleeves, straps, and tapered leg.

I found Connie via all her fantastic Yelp reviews, and I am here to tell you that there are no lies! Connie was such a pleasure to work with for all my bridal needs. Initially, I came to her to help me with my wedding dress alterations. I wanted to find someone who was local to me, but also trustworthy, and I am so glad I found both qualities and more in Connie. I booked a January 2023 appointment back in November 2022 just because I wanted to ensure I got on her books at the same time my dress would arrive. It all worked out. At our first fitting, she actively took notes and I told her everything I was hoping to alter to ensure a perfect fit. My wedding dress took about 5 visits in total as I had a huge gown where it needed to be brought in a bit, sleeves adjusted, hem adjusted, among other alterations. At about visit #3, I finally found what I wanted to wear for my 2nd outfit at my wedding reception. This is where I wish I could give Connie 10 stars! I bought a plain-ish jumpsuit from David's Bridal. The pants were wide, and the fit wasn't perfect, but I knew it had potential. I took it to Connie and oh my gosh she worked such magic! She tapered the pants, and with the extra fabric, she made flutter sleeves, and she added the big tulle moment that I wanted added on, and just made this 2nd outfit like I never imagined. It really become a whole different outfit from what I initially purchased, and it exceeded my expectations so much. Every visit with Connie was fun, and while I'd be changing into the dress or jumpsuit, she was so kind to let me indulge in wedding details asking me how everything is going, etc. Once both of my outfits were done, I felt like, awww when am I going to see Connie again?? Well, now that I know she is a great person and alterations talent, I will definitely be coming back to her with any future outfit needs -- or to create a whole new one!

Simply the best!!! I had two wedding dresses that needed an overhaul - from taking them in, to shortening the hem, to adding pockets - and Connie did everything perfectly. Truly - she was a magician. She's also extremely nice and personable, and reasonably priced. Also, as a queer fat person, I felt completely comfortable here, and comfortable to be myself unapologetically. Absolutely loved my dresses and definitely recommend to everyone!

I found Connie just searching online- and so so lucky I did! I wanted a simple, elegant white wedding dress for my reception and Connie designed and made my perfect dress. She sent me sketches, had me come in to look at sample swatches, and had numerous fittings to make it just right. The entire process was seamless and I culdn't say better things about her and her work!

I brought my wedding dress in here to have the length altered and to add a bustle. Maybe I was too naive and trusting, but I gave her permission to do the bustle as she pleased since I trusted her expertise. She quoted me $350 which was an amazing price! My qualm, however, is with the quality of the alterations I received. She did an American bustle on my dress, which just made me look like I had a diaper on. When I brought up my concerns, she just brushed them off. I had to bring my dress to another seamstress to re-do the bustle, where I also found out that the bottom seam of the dress was entirely uneven. I am receiving a $50 refund for the failed bustle but when I brought up the uneven length to her, she completely dismissed my concerns and hung up the phone on me. So now I'm stuck paying an additional $400 to get the SAME, EXACT alterations at a different location. Decent parking even though the lot can get packed I never had an issue finding a spot. The people who took my clothes and gave them back when my clothes were ready were nice enough. Here is why: Our home was damaged in the Eaton Fire. Our clothes were smoke damaged and had to be professionally cleaned. Our remediation company recommended Concierge Cleaners. In hindsight, I suspect they got a kickback "Shane," (as he calls himself, is apparently the owner of Concierge Cleaners) picked up the hundreds of items to be cleaned. We were unable to live in our house for months, so the transfer of clothes was chaotic. After numerous requests, "Shane" finally gave an estimate which was far less than the amount ($2,533) that they ultimately billed. Among the clothes Concierge took were several expensive coats and suits. We obviously expected them to by dry cleaned. Instead, Concierge threw them in the wash with the underwear and t-shirts. Literally, they were put in a washing machine which ruined the fine wool, then put in a dryer which shrank them. Then they were tightly folded and wrapped with the laundry. The suits and coats were obviously ruined. When we informed "Shane" what happened we assumed he would act professionally and offer to compensate for the damage. When mistakes happen people with integrity take responsibility. But integrity is not "Shane's" strong suit. First he denied ever having the suits and coats. Then he claimed they could be fixed by dry cleaning them. That did not work since the fabric was already ruined and the suits shrunk two sizes. I told "Shane" we would be satisfied if Concierge paid just a fraction of the cost of replacing the suits. We have a lot going on trying to make our house habitable after the fire and don't have time to mess with an incompetent and dishonest dry cleaner. Unfortunately, Shane stopped responding and is now unreachable. So now we have to haul this clown into small claims court to get him to pay for the damage he caused. I have lived in the Pasadena area a long time and know there are good and reputable dry cleaners. Concierge is not one of them. If you want someone who does not know that fine wool suits have to be dry cleaned, lies about what happened to your clothes, and refuses to compensate you when he ruins your best clothes, then you will love "Shane" and Concierge Cleaners.

Armeene saved my wedding day!…read more I originally bought my dress from a local bridal shop that promised many customizations. They phoned it in for all of them. Sloppy work for everything. Some of it was ignorable or blended in enough to ignore, but specifically a belted area around the waist ended up noticeably sloppy and wider than I wanted. They made a bunch of excuses and shooed me out the door. I couldn't even look at the dress without being mad - not a great wedding day vibe. Armeene came to my rescue with only two weeks left until the wedding! She was clear with me that it would be difficult to pull off - the dress was constructed in a way that made the customization difficult (why did the dress shop even promise it?? Ugh). Not only did she and her assistant understand exactly what I wanted and pull it off nearly perfectly, they did it in only two days for a price that I found to be more than fair!! I will forever be grateful to her. The next time I need some pants hemmed or altered I'm heading her way again! I've attached some before and after pictures to show the magic!

However, Armeene did a beautiful job and was reasonably priced! If you choose to have her alter your wedding dress, you'll know your dress will be in good hands. Also, she is incredibly friendly and has such a lovely personality. I greatly enjoyed working with her! Now onto what I got done. I knew when I bought my dress that I wanted a few things to happen: close or hide the trending deep V in the front, add detachable straps (I ordered them from the bridal studio), and take in the bust. I also need some regular alterations, hemming the dress, bustle, and taking it in a bit. She made all the changes happen and they looked absolutely amazing! I was very happy with how it turned out. I knew my dress wasn't an easy one to alter since she'd have to remove and replace the appliqué on it throughout the process, but she did an incredible job! I would recommend her to any bride who needs alterations!

Tl;dr: If you have a thing for clothes and want to experience the "best of the best" (in every…read moreregard), Jerry and Ivan at JB Clothiers are the guys to see. Period. From the first call to the final fitting - and their post-delivery followup - every aspect of my experience with them was aces. In too much detail: Absolutely fantastic in every regard - JBC isn't merely the finest tailoring Los Angeles has to offer - it's literally a "Destination Clothier." This is going to be a long review - but then again I had a really wonderful experience, and in so many ways, that I can't sum it up quickly. Personal background - I have 25 years' experience selling exotic cars to very high net worth clientele in Los Angeles, and I am very aware of a what a luxury experience looks and feels like. So I sort of walked in the door "loaded for bear." My other experiences had the veneer of luxury, but not the substance of luxury nor the quality of product. A glass of wine doesn't overcome the fact that the end result is a disappointment. Anyway - I could no longer find clothes "on the rack" that were made of fabrics I wanted (sport coats and suits in particular). I had tried two "made to measure" clothing stores (Suit Supply and Indochino) and been disappointed with the results, so I searched for a literal in-Los Angeles custom tailoring service (where I could consult *directly* with the tailor - not just an on-site rep for a tailor half a world away). After much deliberation, I made an appointment with JB. I must admit I was somewhat skeptical by this point, when I arrived for my first consult, even after all my investigation. The feel of JB Clothiers is EXACTLY what I was hoping to find when I walked in for my first consult. After meeting Jerry (the founder/proprietor) and his partner Ivan, I had great confidence that my research had paid off. The conversation about what I was looking for and how they could achieve it was quite in-depth (and I actually learned a few things about my taste). Jerry and Ivan suggested subtle ways of "expanding my taste envelope" while still well within my taste bandwidth. There are myriad choices to make - and with each one I was getting more excited to see the end result. The measuring process was thorough and precise, having me adopt different postures and re-measuring many times. I was there for the better part of an hour. About a month later, Jerry called to set up the first fitting appointment. I about died when I saw my coat for the first time. It's gorgeous and not so much a coat, as a garment, I think. The details are exquisite - and they are everywhere, beyond the special embroidery you'll be offered. It is quite literally a work of art. We tried it on, and made various adjustments, and I left not sure I'd be able to wait until it came back. Long story about how I Dunning-Kreuger'd the first alterations, which were literally put back on the 2d fitting. Sorry I wasted your time, guys. But by this time, I was so hooked on both the product and the experience, that I added a matching pair of slacks to the coat, turning it into a 2-Piece Suit. Going back the third time, I picked up the pants - they are not only gorgeous with the same attention to detail as the coat, but they fit me unlike any pants I have ever owned IN MY LIFE. They are utterly incredible. Fantastic! At the last fitting all of this was immediately and obviously worth every penny and every second of time. And admittedly, I'd added considerably to the time by the alterations I thought I wanted in the first fitting. I have tried this suit on with nearly every shirt/tie combo I can put together - it it so wonderful! This experience was very much a splurge for me - and I plan to do it again as soon as I can. Yes - I spent about 50% more than I would have for a Canali suit off the rack. But I got 5x the suit as a result. I'll never again waste money on clothing - what JB made for me is a lifetime investment, and no clothes I've ever had fit that description. Really not sure how to better convey my enthusiasm than to say I can't wait for the next time I decide to tread myself and add to my wardrobe. At the end of the day, the expenditure at JB will actually saved me in the long run - no more wasted money on clothes that are sorta "close enough" but never right. And no more wasted time trying to find them, either. Did I mention I love this suit? I love this suit! And I had a total blast along the way! Thanks guys!

This place is nice but maybe a little overrated…read more Jerry's not a bad guy and probably not a bad salesman. I thought I was coming in for a consultation, and I liked the fabrics and patterns we came up with, but he was disappointed that I was not ready to throw down $4,000 for the custom suit that day. (He convinced me that anything cheaper in his shop wasn't worth my time.) I can see why he likes to close the deal the day of. The more I thought about it, the less comfortable I felt throwing down than much for this suit... I had a few other reasons, too. Anyway, I sent a message to the store the next day, politely explaining why that I appreciated Jerry's time, but the shop wasn't for me. Jerry ended up calling me, and I wish I hadn't answered. He started trying to get me to get his cheaper stuff that had already talked me out of. He was pushy, dismissive of my reasons and all around unpleasant. I think they have some off the-rack suits available, too, and I believe they offer tailoring, but I am no longer interested. He'll probably respond to this and be dismissive again, but those are my two cents. He has a nice assistant. I won't pretend it's bad quality. Still three stars.
