We loved the atmosphere and the locals eating there. It's a local joint for sure! I didn't love the meal, honestly. I got the Western Omelette turned into a burrito. The inside was a thin layer of egg and very little ham. But the hash browns inside were totally undercooked and just soggy. The pico/salsa they serve with it was also bad. My wife had the chicken fried steak and it was average, at best. Maybe we should have gotten lunch. They've been in business a long time. read more

We really enjoyed our time at Connie's Cafe! The service was quick and friendly. The food was yummy and a great value for what you paid! Super cute, local, small town feel. Mediocre. I should have eaten down the street at Hank and Katie's cafe and bakery. The glass of Coke I got was flat and it tasted like the post mix was losing carbonation. Really limited lunch menu, ordered a hot, open face roast beef on Texas toast. The roast beef was little chunks chased around in a skillet, over cooked and so much gravy it could have been used for four plates. With a side of mashed potatoes and pasty broccoli. A $12-something for lunch was about $4 too much. I doubt I'll be back. read more

We visited this place a little over a year ago, and again this morning. Much improved today. Breakfast was fast, WARM and good. Price was average and service was excellent. We will be back to try it out further. read more

Catfish was weird, unlike any fried catfish I've had before. It was just one big thick piece and I was not a fan of the breading they used. Hamburgers are excellent, so get a burger, not the catfish. Service was slow but friendly. Sweet tea is the best I've had. Would return read more

Every time I visit Arkansas we go to Connie's (usually multiple times) for breakfast or lunch! The food is so good and always really filling. The service is always great and I personally love the atmosphere. I've gotten a few different dishes, but my favorite is the turkey club with a side of sweet potato fries, you can get it for breakfast or lunch! read more

Breakfast at Connie's Cafe in Bull Shoals AR. Amazing! My son had the Fun Cakes pancakes. It was not only the cutest shark, but it was a delicious crepe style pancake. That shark was gobbled-up before he could do any damage ! My husband had the Armadillo Biscuits and gravy covered in hashbrowns with two eggs (his: over easy). All I can say is I saw Suzanne (our waitress) set them on the table. Next time I looked, they were gone. Although he did 'borrow' some of my toast to clean up the gravy! I had the meat lovers omelette. Man sized and mouth watering good. My hashbrowns were crisp on the outside, soft inside. That, for me, is perfect. Came for lunch at 11. All tables were taken. Employee told me to wait momentarily because a table was about to leave. I stood waiting at the door for 5 minutes. There is no waiting area. A woman came thru the door behind me and walked just past me. They seated her immediately at a table that just left, completely ignoring me after I had already been standing there waiting for 5 minutes. Strikes 1, 2, and 3 all at once. Snotty Waitress Past experiences here had been good but when we visited about 1 PM on 8/22 we had a different takeaway. We entered the restaurant, there was one other group seated that had not received menus yet. We waited quite a while for the waitress to acknowledge us or the other group but were both ignored. After about 10 minutes a walk in approached the counter and was served ahead of the existing customers. At that point my wife asked to see a menu(she is diabetic and was starting to get low sugar symptoms). The waitress informed us that she would get to us in "a minute" in a rather curt tone. THEN when she finally approached the other table she made a loud comment about about waiting on the "whiny table next. We left. Local little divey roadside café, with friendly waitress and a cup of coffee that is never empty. It is homestyle breakfast with homemade gravy for your homemade biscuits. Pancakes as big as your plate, all serve on real plates and silver ware. The waitress knows the locals names and is nice to the out of towners. You can walk in your swimsuit and now that is okay. We visit the area often but this was our first time at Connie's. Our party of 4 all enjoyed various breakfast dishes including fried bologna and eggs. Yep, that's right..bologna for breakfast! Oh wow, was this a good little Cafe! We are in town for a College Bass fishing tournament and had a large group stop in for breakfast! As soon as we walked in the door a very friendly waitress set us up in a back room. She was so friendly & pleasant. The service was excellent & so was our breakfast! Lived across from Connies and had food from there once. Ordered a Turkey club sandwich and it was real baked turkey not pressed turkey and lots of turkey on the sandwich, lettuce and tomato. Very delicious and I will keep ordering from there! read more

This place hit home for us. We were staying at Gaston's and were unimpressed with the restaurant so we went looking for another option and were so happy we found Connie's. Great breakfast (the pancakes are incredible and so are the scatters), our server was really good (I'm a former server myself), and everything come out quickly, fresh and hot! We walked across from our 'resort' around 9 a.m. on a recent Sunday. I fully expected a wait. To our surprise, there was an open table and our waitress greeted us quickly with menus and water. I had a veggie omelet that came with a choice of potatoes and toast. I had hashbrowns and sourdough, after she mentioned the bread was homemade. The veggie omelet was huge, the vegetables were fresh and cooked just right. I also enjoyed the hashbrowns but the real star on the table was the bread! It was out of this world. I'm not a big bread person, but l would have been very happy having a continental breakfast had it been a menu option. If I'm ever that way again, I am stopping for whatever homemade bread is offered. read more

The only reason this place is not getting 5 stars is they need to add members to their staff. This place is always packed and unfortunately it is the same one or two (if were lucky) waitresses waiting on everyone. I am not knocking the service, it is good but takes way to long to arrive. The last time I went to eat there my wife and I decided to go elsewhere because we had been sitting at our table for over half an hour and still had not been visited by a waitress. The food is fantastic! Everything I have ever ordered has been great. My favorite meal there is the Delta Caviar. It is a massive bowl of cheese grits topped with scrambled eggs and bacon. I always get it with a side of their homemade, thick and heavy sourdough toast. Every bite is amazing and I can never finish the dish. it is the best place to get breakfast in the Twin Lakes area. read more
