Connies Buttermilk Waffle with Chicken Breast Tenders
Dan A.

Located in the Broadway Market with a second Baltimore location and one in Wilmington, Connie's is all about two things: chicken and/or waffles. We arrived around noon on a Friday & didn't have plans to get food from here but the sweet waffle smell drew us in. Weren't busy but started to pick up. They have a kiosk available for self serve ordering. We ordered the Buttermilk Chicken and Waffles. Waffles were fluffy/airy and stole the show! Chicken was seasoned but just okay-didn't live up to the "award winning chicken box" billing. Noticed after they have various waffle flavors (Oreo, Crunch Berry...) so next time. Nothing stood out for Service- could've been engaging/upbeat but wasn't. Will be back to try other waffle flavors and see if it was just an off day for the chicken.

In my opinion, weekends were made for waffles. I didn't feel like making my own so we went to Connie's. I ordered the blueberry waffle with chicken tenders and a strawberry kiwi drink... so much sugar but well worth it! This was the best waffle I have had in a long time. The chicken was fried perfectly and the waffle was light and fluffy. I cannot wait to visit again.

We were wandering around the market and stopped here because who doesn't love Chicken and Waffels?? The two men there were super kind and helpful. Great service! We got the oreo waffle with 2 chicken tenders. To direct quote my mother "This is delicious. Oh my goodness." It was a struggle for her to stop eating even though she was full! The waffle was sweet, but not in an overpowering way. The chicken was hot and moist. Everything about the dish hit the spot. My only note is that I normally like my chicken breading crispy/crunchy and this wasn't, but that's a personal preference. And the lack of crunch certainly didn't take away from the delicious flavor. Go here!

This spot is located inside of Broadway Market (along with some other restaurants). Couldn't find a parking space so ended up parking a block away (paid $8) and walking. I ordered the 2 piece chicken and fries basket with their peach tea. Everything came out piping hot! The chicken had a great flavor and the seasoned fries were good as well, although I just wished they were a lot more crisper. That peach tea is from heaven! The ladies at the counter were super nice and even came over while we were eating to ask if everything was good and to thank us for choosing them. I would definitely go back!

A partner ordered and had this delivered to her house last month and daaaaamn it was a good choice. The waffle was fluffy with a good crisp outside, which let the syrup float on top and not make it soggy! The taste waa unique and great! The chicken was a real hit, too. Tender inside and crispy and flavorful outside. The amount of food we got for the price waa nice, too. Would love to visit in person when that's possible!

THE best waffles I've ever had! So, so delicious! A friend has been talking about Connie for months wanting to try them out. Him and I made a pact we would wait until we could go together. Due to life and work schedules, months later we finally had our lunch date. Located in Broadway Market, Connie's is a stand out. Customer service is great! Both employees were very friendly, gave great details about the menu. My Blueberry Waffle was huge! Cooked perfectly and full of blueberries. $7 for the waffle, what a steal! An extra $1 for fresh strawberries to top. When I tell you my waffle was delicious, straight up perfection! My friend had the chicken and waffles. Blueberry Waffles, and decent sized chicken breast strips. He loved his so much he said he's coming back tomorrow!

They have a self-serving kiosk which is convenient when the staff is busy. They are cashless so brings your cards. I ordered the blueberry waffle, which took a couple of minutes to come out. I was disappointed by how soggy the inside was. I understand that blueberries will make it more moist than usual, but there's a fine line between moist and soggy and this did not make the cut. It was somewhat sour and the syrup didn't save it. I have a feeling it was slightly undercooked. I was looking for a nice, crispy yet fluffy waffle and this did not deliver. Ended up not finishing it and throwing it out.

Bookmarked it because the description includes chicken wings. Popped over one day and realized it's strips and not wings. Not a huge deal but a little disappointing. While I know it's a chicken and waffle spot, I can't just grab a waffle to go. I need a full dining experience, lol So I opted for just the strips and fries. They were good not necessarily amazing but then again it might be about the chicken/waffle combo and I'm missing out. My rule of thumb with chicken is - if I have to use a sauce or seasoning on top, and it can't stand alone, it's just okay. At least I can say I tried it.

Connie's came highly recommended from a few friends who said it was a must visit. I agree! I placed my order on yelp with a friend so we can try to different waffles together. We got the red velvet waffle with chicken and the blueberry waffle. The order was ready by the time we got there. The spot is located in a cute little market with a few different eateries surrounding it. The waffles were delicious and they gave us whipped butter and maple syrup on the side so we could add to our liking. I personally found the chicken pieces to be a little bit small but they were delicious. The red velvet waffle was the best one!

I happened upon this place while walking through Broadway Market and thought I give it a try. Excellent! It's a small place inside the market with a limited menu, but the few things they do, they do very well. The food is made to order so it took about 15 minutes, but worth the wait. I opted for the Blueberry Waffle and Chicken meal and it was fantastic! The blueberry flavor shown through and the chicken was perfectly cooked. I also had the Peach tea which was equally good. A nice, hidden gem in the market and a must visit.

Ordered delivery via third party to our hotel which was about 10 minutes away. Waffles still had some crunch and definitely not soggy. Great taste. The chicken tenders were good too. We got a regular and oreo waffle. Pretty good overall and I presume better in the restaurant

~ First thing first... That good ole smell! I'm always in this area but never heard about Connie's Chicken and waffles until my help family put me on. A nice little sit-down area with enough space allowing customers to feel comfortable. I got the red velvet waffle with chicken tenders & oreo waffle. The waffles, were perfect. Nice crust, fluffy, and buttermilkish. But those chicken tenders... Let me tell y'all. I'm that dude that would NEVER order chicken tenders from a restaurant. Glad I did this time. Best chicken tenders ever! Taste, texture, juiciness & size. Guarantee you'll love this dish. The staff brings your food out to you. The half & half drink is delicious as well. Nice atmosphere. Nice vibe. Nice food. Hope you enjoy. #TeamDiesel4Evaaaa

You know those old cartoons where a hand is luring you to a smell? That is exactly what it is like when you step into Broadway Market. Sure, there's tons of great food options, but that Connie's smell permeates the building and makes you forget what you came for. Order the buttermilk waffles with two chicken tenders - it's made in front of you here, so it comes out piping out. I forgo the extra toppings (which come at a charge) and just use plain ol' syrup. The chicken here is bomb, I wish they would sell chicken boxes with waffle fries! Anyways, why wait until brunch to get your chicken x waffle fix? While I have not had Connie's during this covid stay-at-home order, I know they've started online ordering for pick-up and offering delivery through partner apps, by location. Support small businesses!

SHUT THE FLUFF UP! SO GOOOOD!!!…read more We were in Baltimore with a few hours to spare in the morning, so what to do?!? First thing that comes to mind is... crab for breakfast! Ok yelp, show me watcha gat!!! Oh, AND Open Early! Unfortunately, we have just a few options pop up (Wha?!? REALLY?!? It's Baltimore, aren't they famous for crab?!?), so we choose to hit Blue Moon Cafe! Yelp directions are on point and only street parking from what we can see. We brave the brisk chilly breeze of early May to get to the cafe... BRRRR!!! Inside motif has a dark theme to it and small patronage area. Per the lovely Nicki who greeted us, Blue has been on Food Network a few times... DDD, Best Things I Ever Ate & Destination FOOD... so settin' the bar HIGH from the start! Ok, okay I dig the confidence!! Menu is via QR code but Nicki, becuz she's fun, excitedly announces the recs to the newbies, which are Sweet Baby Jesus & Cap'n Crunch French Toast. Thanks for the heads up! Sweet Baby has lump Crab in the dish so that's a confident YES! for that, but I spy something more appealing than Cap'n Crunch... Let's EAT! SWEET BABY JESUS!: Wifey and I wanted crab and this was Blue's big gun! So YES! To The Dish! It may appear as a simple Hash Brown dish but it is so much GLORIOUS than that! To start, Hash browns are browned & crisped perfectly and then the angel's touch happens... lump crab (generous portion) with Old Bay Seasoning, fresh diced tomatoes, melty cheese, 2 over Medium eggs and homemade Hollandaise Sauce. HOLEY MOLEY! DEEE-LISH! Generous crab serving allows you to have crab with EVERY bite of this dish! Mmmmm :) Love the ooey gooey stretchy cheese! Love the runny eggs! And that Hollandaise?!?! LEGIT! This heavenly dish deserves all the hype! The only drawback was the dish got cold fast because of the cold weather outside I assume. By the time I finished my order, and got to helping Wifey, not as WOWzers compared to when it first dropped on our table. Now we know... eat fast when it's cold outside. lol SHUT THE FLUFF UP! FRENCH TOAST: Once I read "peanut butter" in its ingredients, no way I was passing this up! Buh Bye fan fave Cap'n Crunch, maybe next time lol. Officially, menu "says" it's a Pretzel encrusted French Toast, layered with chunky peanut butter, marshmallow fluff and Chocolate drizzle... allegedly. The chocolate drizzle was not present when the plate landed but generous melty smooth peanut butter completely covered the top of the marshmallow fluff. Sliced Granny Smith apples and thin pretzels also topped the dish, with a powdered sugar drizzle over the entire plate. I asked for extra peanut butter on the side just because no one ever puts enough for my liking lol. And whattya know?!? This newest iteration of the dish was FABULOUS! Did they run out of stuff? Who cares! The synergy these items had with each other just made an amazing bite each and every time. BOMB-alicious!!! I don't really like marshmallow but it wasn't a hindrance here. I devoured the entire thing. Compliments to the chef! ;) VERY EASY RECOMMENDATION! Definitely worth a visit and a return visit, as well! If it's cold outside, focus on eating not chit chatting lol ENJOY! :)

My husband and I recently dined at Blue Moon Cafe in Fells Point, Baltimore, and were disappointed…read moreby our experience. The issue began when my husband politely asked a question about a menu item because it appeared to be spelled "browns" rather than "hash browns." He simply wanted clarification regarding what the item was. The server asked him for context, and he explained that he was referring to the item as it appeared on the menu. She then replied, "Oh, now I have context. That's a hash brown." My husband explained that because of the way it was written, he wasn't sure what it meant and was only asking a question before ordering. At that point, the server's tone became noticeably louder, and she responded, "Well, I only work here. I didn't write the menu." We found this response unnecessarily defensive and dismissive. At no point was my husband criticizing the server or correcting her. He was simply trying to understand a menu item. Shortly afterward, a different server began assisting our table, which gave us the impression that the original server was upset by the interaction. When my husband placed his order, he specifically requested that the restaurant's "animal sauce" be served on the side. The menu does not explain what animal sauce is, so he wanted to try it separately before putting it on his meal. When the food arrived, the dish was completely covered in the sauce rather than having it on the side as requested. Afterward, we learned that the sauce is a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise. My husband does not eat mayonnaise and ketchup on eggs, which is exactly why he requested the sauce on the side. Unfortunately, because of the uncomfortable interaction earlier, he did not feel comfortable asking for the dish to be corrected and simply tried to eat around it. The meal was not inexpensive, and because the sauce had been poured over most of the food, he was unable to enjoy it. Approximately 80% of his meal was left uneaten. We understand that mistakes happen and that restaurant environments can be busy. However, customers should be able to ask questions about menu items and make simple requests without feeling uncomfortable or concerned about how those requests will be received. Description of waitress: Caucasian Middle aged Heavy set Extremely loud voice Rude ( nice/nasty) We wanted to share this feedback because the interaction negatively impacted our dining experience and left us feeling unwelcome. We hope this feedback is received in the spirit intended so that future guests feel comfortable asking questions and making requests without concern.

We aren't from Baltimore, and it was a little confusing finding it, as it's located inside a food court. We got here around 9 AM and it was empty, not really knowing what to expect, and most of the other restaurants were closed. The ambiance wasn't there, but again, we were there at 9 AM on a Sunday (so I'm intrigued to see what it's like when all restaurants in the food court are opened). What gave us full confidence to try it out was the fact that they have a Food Network logo on their menu, so we had to try! We both ordered the two piece tender chicken with buttermilk waffles. It came out HOT and wow, it was insanely good. Everything was fresh (we saw the guy breaded our pieces of chicken and fry them!), chicken was seasoned well, crispy, and succulent inside. The buttermilk waffle was fluffy, light, and not overly sweet (which I prefer!). Served with syrup and hot sauce. I had contemplated getting 3 tenders and I'm glad I didn't, as the 2 with the waffle was more than enough food. Great start to our little mini vacation in Baltimore :)

Our order was taken once Montez was able to make his way back. We also were told that the bartender called out which left a deficit in their coverage but I loved how everyone shared in making sure they helped in anyway they could. Our food came out in a reasonable time. I got scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, turkey bacon, and glazed apples. My girlfriend got scrambled egg whites, regular bacon, and pancakes. We also got a bottle of Prosecco for the table. The food was came out hot and prepared to our liking. It was several people celebrating birthdays so the energy was nice and the DJ was definitely on point! There was also an option to purchase hookah if that's your thing. We really appreciated the transparency on the staff coverage which makes all the difference. There is parking lot right behind the establishment that requires payment. Even during busy times I've been where she was the only server working, she's always really pleasant and never made me feel rushed. This review is about tonight's experience. After picking up my order (by foot), I get home and see that someone named Maurice called to let me know only half my order was given to me (I believe he's the manager). I asked if he could just credit that portion of my order, and he said I'd have to do it through the app (there's not an option to do so). There was no offer to have the order delivered to me so I just walked back to pick it up. He did apologize for the inconvenience when he handed me the bag, and said he put a $10 card in the bag. When I got home and open up the food (dinner-sized scallops entree), they gave me the smallest scallops I'd ever seen, they were not pan-seared (or under-seared), were rubbery and had NO flavor. This was not worth the price, the inconvenience of walking a half-mile back to the restaurant for, and def not worth the $10 card that I'd have to spend $30 to unlock on an order that automatically includes gratuity. I hope if this happens to a patron in the future, they will consider having the order delivered, and at least throw in a complimentary appetizer or dessert if it's too much of a hassle to credit them. As for the food quality...i just want them to do better. The place is beautiful and I want them to succeed.

The place is mostly carry-out, but there are a few bar-style seats if you want to eat there. The menu isn't your typical fast food lineup either, they've got some creative, non-traditional options that definitely stand out. We tried the Jerk Chicken Cheesesteak, Fried Chicken Sandwich, 1908 Chicken Cheesesteak, and Fish Tacos, and they were all delicious.
