I forgot to update this review after my third visit, which finally included food! I returned, after falling in love with their drink program on two past occasion, for brunch with friends. We share some deviled eggs we tried all three types - lump crab, traditional with pickled mustard seed, and pimiento cheese with crispy chicken skin crumbles) and hush puppies with honey butter. I really enjoyed the traditional and pimiento deviled eggs (the lump crab just didn't work for me with a deviled egg). I found the hush puppies to be over-fried and a bit dry, but the honey butter was delicious and made them work (you just needed quite a bit). A friend and I shared the Collard Green Caesar (chopped collard greens, pickled red onion, boiled peanuts, cornbread croutons, hot sauce Caesar dressing, and Parmesan) and 2 pieces of fried chicken (served with a biscuit, pickled, and honey butter). I'm not sure collard greens are the best green for a play on a Caesar - it's just so fibrous and bold - but I get what they're doing here: a Southern Caesar, and it was good. The fried chicken is probably why a majority of patrons are there at any given time, and I can see why. It was well fried, well-seasoned, and very flavorful. We have been to this place for brunch and for a few happy hours. We love the funky fun vibe and the speedy service. We ordered the smoked oyster dip and pimento cheese dip along with the chicken and catfish Sammy. I had the Ramona Flower cocktail. The dips were great and enjoyed those. They had good balance. My friend ordered the chicken, which I had a piece, which was very flavorful, juicy and crispy. The collard greens per them was not that great this time around. Loved this place. Stumbled onto the place after 2 when every other place was closed for brunch, as they were still open. My partner and I enjoyed some delicious bites - we split the Croque Madame (which was like a giant sandwich smothered in a pink pasta sauce, really quite good even if it didn't initially look it), and the "caviar" dish. This place was such disappointment. Visited to pick up what was apparently Baltimore's best fried chicken. This is such a greasy, heavy meal with not much of an addictive taste to justify it. The chicken was mediocre. The bun was good. The biscuit was hard and the butter was okay. The sauces do not smell good, almost a disgusting smell which was odd because the rest smelled fine. But the worst part were the fries. They were damn near rock hard! Zero crisp or flavor. The twaffles were worse. I get that Maryland has native truffles but it overdoes it. Truffles are already pungent and have a strong taste. It seems that they just pile whatever they have without thinking of the food or experience. I was so sad eating this because I had a wonderful meal afterwards at a place that I wish I had more of a hunger at the time for. The only good thing was how sweet the service was. i came here for their restaurant week winter menu ($45). the menu has plenty of options and you can mix and match courses. we were seated in a nice booth in the corner which was quite cozy. for my app, i ordered the roasted sweet potato. the potato was cooked very nicely, and the pomegranite seeds and chili sauce were excellent. there was a small part of it, maybe an herb (?) that made it taste kind of soapy at times. for my entree i ordered the three piece fried chicken platter, which came with a biscuit and a side. i usually love green beans but did not find theirs appetizing and ended up not eating them. the chicken was really nice; it was really juicy and seasoned really well. i had plenty of leftovers and i didn't end up needing the sauce it came with. the biscuit was expertly done and the honey butter it came with was a nice touch. for my dessert, i ordered the meyer lemon tartlet. the lemon flavor was punchy and bold and tasted like eating straight lemon curd (a good thing). i was scraping my plate when i was done. the food was good, but honestly the highlight was the service. the bartnender was our waitress and she was the nicest person ever. the food came out really fast and she fielded our questions and accommodated substitutions really well. i was very impressed by the quality of the service. i will likely return outside of restaurant week to try other menu items. read more

This place is very interesting but in a good way. It's unique which I like. Their bathroom walls are plastered with covers of playboy magazines and some other images containing nudity so not suitable for kids where that's concerned. I ordered the cinnamon roll as an appetizer and it was delicious. Perfect blend of sweetness to savory from the cream cheese frosting and I'm big on frosting. It wasn't gooey with cinnamon filling like I love but it was a great roll. I would definitely order it again. The fried chicken was too salty which ruined the experience for me. It was fried well but the SALT?! Too much. We came initially at hoppy hour, no that is not misspelled. We ordered chicken poutine and the croquettes for the table and shared amongst us. The chicken poutine was delicious and I almost ordered a second order for my dinner. Instead I wanted to try the crab rice and during hoppy hour, a half portion was inexpensive. The jumbo lump crab on top of the crab rice was good, and crab rice different but a little sweeter than I would have liked. If you have a gluten allergy or eat gluten free, their fried chicken is gluten free and I plan to bring a friend back here to try it. Oh and their cocktails were phenomenal, and the fact that you could get two of them without alcohol made it even better. The location is great, as it's on a less busier street in Fells Point. I got really lucky with the street parking. The interior decor was cute and eclectic. My group ordered from the 3 course restaurant week menu as well as other dishes on the regular menu. I started with the two piece chicken and miso-honey dipping sauce. Absolutely delicious! The chicken was seasoned nicely and the miso-honey worked so well with it. I also ordered the short rib pasta which was ok but not as great as the chicken in my opinion. I wasn't too big on having dessert so I loved that they had an option to order a drink instead. I had the Jessica Rabbit which was tasty and refreshing. I sampled my mother's crab soup and found it to be slightly too salty and not enough crab meat in it. She enjoyed her 3 piece meal with fries and biscuit. She ordered the tiramisu for dessert. She didn't really like it but I enjoyed it. My party also ordered and shared deviled eggs (I found them to be too tangy for my liking), cornmeal hush puppies with honey butter (amazing!!), and cinnamon roll bread pudding with vanilla ice-cream (not officially on the menu but it needs to be because it was diabolically delicious!) The Blood Mary was the perfect amount of spicy and had pickled veggies as garnish, which was a nice touch. It is conveniently located in the heart of Fells Point too so it is a great place to get brunch with the gals. Upon entering, it is your typical cute Baltimore spot with patio and upstairs seating which is nice. We ordered the Avocado Toast, Croque Madame, and the Breakfast Biscuit. The Avocado Toast was pretty standard, nothing special or unique to report here but also it is a solid option on the menu. The Croque Madame was also just okay. The tomato fondu was fairly overwhelming and I wish there was more cheese and other things because at some points my bites were just bread, tomato fondu, and ham, and I wasn't really getting much of the other flavors. The Breakfasrt Biscuit was a good classic that you cannot go wrong with. It was fairly filling and rich too. I wouldn't go so far as to say that I ordered wrong, but I do think that I should have tried the fried chicken since that is what this place is known for. All of what we got was solid, but nothing special to report, although I do think if maybe we ordered a little different my rating might be a little higher because I am not sure what we got was anything people rave about. For food, I tried the shrimp and grits as well as the white meat half chicken and green beans as a side. It can't stand up to the best fried chicken you can find in the South, of course, so temper expectations. Note that they DO NOT have milk alternatives so if you're a latte person this is not the place for coffee. I don't mind crowds too much but with how loud the other two parties were coupled with the small room, it was excessively loud at certain points that I thought I was in a club for a second and had to talk in my friend's ear. I really enjoyed their biscuits. It was very soft and still warm. Pairing it with the honey butter makes it even better. The black eyed peas shakshuka was very hearty and full of flavor, and the hash browns were crunchy without compromising the taste. Unfortunately the fried chicken breakfast tacos were a letdown. While I appreciate generous portions with my meals, the tacos were overflowing that it was hard to eat. Also I felt like the sauces were really doing the heavy lifting flavor wise. First of all the service is impeccable, and the staff is obviously having a good time. The decor of this place is a little outdated, but who cares? This is a upscale fried chicken restaurant with champagne, and all the things to go with it. The chicken was simply outstanding, and I truly mean outstanding. When you have the trifecta of excellent service with excellent food and equally excellent prices that are fair than you have a winner. I truly look for any slip ups and there were none.
