Meh. With all of the breakfast joints in St. Augustine, you need to bring your "A" game. However, this place gets a "C" from me. The staff was nice. The mimosas were lacking. I don't know if they have the young people making the mimosas but you could not taste the champagne. I could tell by the color as they were bringing them out that they were lacking. The syrup they put in them is overpowering as well. I had the Lobster Benedict and for lack of a better word, gross. The potatoes were luke warm.The sauce was so watery and it needed a hollandaise sauce. Also I thought it was a given that all restaurants in St. Auggy had a Datil sauce but this one did not.My hubby had the waffle with a few berries thrown on it. They do breakfast well. The buttermilk pancakes were fluffy and very tasty. Served with homemade whipped cream and real butter on the side. Yummy. My husband got the combo breakfast and switched out the pancakes for French toast. No problem with substituting the pancakes for the French toast, just a $1 up charge (we'll worth it...the French toast was delicious). His eggs were scrambled and quite good; much better than his experience from another restaurant yesterday morning. Our bacon was cooked to perfection, not burnt but crispy. Definitely will go back. We tried Connolly's for the first time and were disappointed. Will not be going back. While the service was great, the food was not good. It's hard to mess up breakfast, but they found a way. The bacon was rubbery and undercooked, and it was cheap quality meat. The pancakes were rubbery. For the avocado toast, they use cheap store bought guac spread instead of anything resembling real avocado. And my wife ordered the bananas foster French toast. It was awful. It had this gelatinous brown sugar crunch all over it. It was drowned in brown sugar which the kitchen failed to properly melt into a brown sugar sauce, so it was hard clumps of brown sugar - covered in it. Not a good experience at all. read more

The lunch menu gives you just as many choices. The chef has several different kinds of hamburgers, as well as many other mouthwatering sandwiches and salads. Food and service is AMAZING. I asked the server what she would recommend and she told me to get the lobster benedict and I'm glad I did. It was flavorful and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. My friend ordered one of their specials the lemon ricotta pancakes and said they were good. Presentation was even good which is not common in restaurants these days. Awesome place for breakfast with outstanding service. The food was your standard grill selection, however, everything was fresh, well made and presented. The eggs were cooked to expectations, the potatoes were seasoned nicely and tasted great. Their pancakes was pretty amazing; they were fluffy, tasty and very enjoyable. Ripley was our server and she was a bubbly, friendly, and hardworking server. She knew her menu, offered suggestions and was quick with a refill.
