The wheel is a great spot for lunch! We eat here about once a week. Their Friday special meatball sub is one of our favorites.

Their chicken salad had a loyal following, and if you got there too late, there was a good chance they had already sold out.

We spoke to Ryan the manager, and he changed our server to Justin who is awesome!!! Alivia the hostess with the mostest way beyond helpful and accommodating. The whole mood of the wedding party changed immediately. Thank you both so much! **Review below from previous visit** The best local fresh made food in town. Don't tell the tourists! The food is absolutely amazing. Highly, highly recommend The Black Molly!

Far too long. The room is loud as well. Sound echoes through the cavern that is this restaurant. This is the worst thing I can say about the Black Molly because everything else was absolutely stellar! Our server, Justin, took quite awhile getting to us (we are certain he was just covering too many tables of 4 or more people), but he was an excellent, enthusiastic and helpful and attentive server when he arrived. The salads and entrees were fresh, loaded with high quality ingredients, and each was remarkably tasty and well made. The grilled foods were grilled to perfection and the smokey taste of the grill was embedded into every bite. Black Molly dinner salads are enormous - they are a full dinner in and of themselves. There is a Cesar, a Mediterranean, and a Chef salad offered. I had the Chef and The Boss had the Mediterranean with Shrimp. I had no idea they were as big as they were or we might have downsized a little. They came in a bowl that was really big, full of fresh mixed garden greens, excellent grilled vegetables, plump juicy tomatoes and were a delicious meal all by themselves. Half the salads went home with us to provide another meal. The shrimp were huge and perfectly prepared. The Chef Salad had great hunks of real ham and the most amazing produce and the dressings were excellent. I will be saddened to go back to store bought dressings and ranch and balsamic glazes. Get a side of (I think you have to specifically ask for) "Crispy" French fries no matter what else you order. They are the perfect size fries, crispy outside, moist delicious inside, and seasoned to perfection. We saw another table eating them and they looked so good we ordered a side - so glad we did. The restaurant is not inexpensive, but it is worth it. Quality food prepared with great attention to detail, fabulous tastes and excellent value. If you want a fresh, delicious, exceptional ingredient meal prepared to perfection, give the Black Molly a try!!!

The combination of imaginative cocktails, exceptional food, and a unique atmosphere makes every visit memorable. The cocktail program is outstanding. We enjoy trying a variety of their exotic and inventive drinks, and they never disappoint. The flavors are bold, creative, and unlike anything you'll find at a typical restaurant bar. The Yellow Submarine cocktail is quite possibly the best drink I have ever consumed. Made with curry-infused Bermuda black rum, lime, ginger, and Asian five-spice brown sugar syrup, it sounded unusual on paper but came together beautifully. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered four of them that evening, something I rarely do. That was three years ago, and despite returning several times since then, I have never seen it on the menu again. The food is equally impressive. Two years ago, I ordered the Skillet Roasted New York Strip served with Yukon Gold potato-anna, roasted asparagus and spring onions, watercress, and black truffle hollandaise. To this day, it remains one of the top five restaurant meals I have ever eaten. Every component on the plate was exceptional. The steak was perfectly prepared, the crispy potato galette was irresistible, and the black truffle hollandaise elevated the entire dish to another level. It was the kind of meal that stays with you long after the plate is cleared. I would gladly drive 300 miles just to eat it again. Most recently, I had the wild mushroom bisque, and it was the best soup I have ever consumed. Rich, creamy, buttery, intensely mushroomy, and perfectly balanced, it was everything a mushroom soup should be. The addition of crispy pickled onions and crème fraîche added texture and contrast that made an already outstanding soup even better. My wife and I enjoyed it so much that we returned the very next day hoping to order it again, only to discover it had already rotated off the menu. My only complaint about The Ice Plant is that some of their greatest creations seem to disappear as quickly as they arrive. While I appreciate the constantly evolving menu and understand that seasonal changes are part of what makes the restaurant special, there are certain items that deserve a permanent home. The Yellow Submarine cocktail, the wild mushroom bisque, and the Skillet Roasted New York Strip with black truffle hollandaise are three of the finest things I have experienced there. The fact that I can vividly remember one of these items from three years ago and another from two years ago says everything. Great restaurants serve good food. Truly special restaurants create dishes and drinks that stay with you for years. The Ice Plant has done that for me more than once, and that is why we continue to return whenever we visit St. Augustine.

The Bloody Mary is where it lost me. $15 is a serious price for a cocktail, and mine arrived as a tall glass of ice with what was left over poured around it. By the time I was a few sips in, it was mostly meltwater. For that money I'd expect the drink to outlast the ice. Suggestion for the house: given the name, lean into it. Send everyone home with a free bag of ice -- at least then I'd feel like I paid for something I got to keep. Would go back for the food. Would think twice before ordering another cocktail.

I probably didn't choose the best option. I was excited about it but really had to force myself to like my broth bowl. The broth came out lukewarm. They did reheat it happily which I was hesitant to ask for. But I just couldn't eat it with cold broth. The broth had absolutely no salt. Like 0. I suppose if you don't like any salt it would be an okay option for you. I found most of the items to taste like grill and nothing else. Just wasn't impressed. I want to like it and I'm sure I'll try it again someday but wasn't memorable. Price was affordable however.
