Lobster Appetizer with puffed pastry so good

Went as a couple on Valentine's Day for dinner and we had an excellent table near the expo line. We got to see everything being done. It made for excellent dinner conversations not to mention a lot of action. Our waitress was great and the food was simply delicious and wildly constructed. This dinner left us saying, "More please!!"

I had eaten at Harvest & Reel a few years ago, when it opened, and had an amazing time. Since we were staying at the Embassy Suites Resort St. Augustine Beach , I figured it would be a fabulous time to try it again. Located in the lobby of the hotel, Harvest & Reel is a gorgeous dining space. It's dark, and cozy, with an open kitchen and a "Farm Fresh and Shore To Table" concept. Yum. We had a party of eight, and were celebrating my brother-in-law and sister-in-law's anniversary too. Our server was Harrison, and he was a dream. He had great knowledge of the menu, made excellent suggestions, was super attentive to our table, and was just a general superstar. Thanks to him. We started with wine and appetizers. We sent an order of the calamari and the charcuterie board down to the "kids'" end of the table, while the "adults" had another plate of calamari and the crispy Brussels sprouts. I'm not a huge calamari fan, but these are fried in the lightest batter, and served with a flavorful green goddess drizzle and hot peppers, so it hits just right. The crispy Brussels sprouts were so good that my husband ordered them as a side with his dinner. I shamelessly snagged some of those, too. Oops. I wasn't super hungry after apps, so I went with the Corn Risotto (as did my brother-in-law, who is a vegetarian). My nephew ordered the Delmonico ribeye, one niece had the Cheeseburger with potato wedges (it came with two patties), and everyone else had the filet mignon, with assorted sides. I am pretty sure we all joined the Clean Plate Club that night. I wish I had more photos of the entrees, because they were beautiful, but.... I got involved in conversation, and you know how it goes. Harrison brought out a slice of salted caramel cheesecake to my brother-in-law and sister-in-law, compliments of the restaurant, which was a lovely and sweet touch. Harvest & Reel is a wonderful restaurant, perfect for intimate dinners and special occasions. Thank you for such a wonderful time!

The Harvest and Reel is located inside the beautiful Embassy Suites resort. This beachfront property doesn't currently have beach access so keep that in mind. We stayed at the resort and ate here twice during our stay. As we often do, we decided to share a few things because this was our first time here. We started with the crab bisque. It definitely needed some seasoning. We order the pork chop. We asked for medium. It was more medium well but still juicy so we ate it. The potatoes were tasty. The couscous is so lacking in any seasoning I just couldn't eat it. I tried lemon, salt, and pepper. It just couldn't be helped. We were offered a free dessert because they saw we didn't eat it. We got the side. Do not get the entree of it! The chocolate brownie (best way I can describe it), was good but very rich. Later in the stay, I ordered the Caesar salad with halibut. I would skip that as well. It ended up being $27 for a very mediocre salad. It comes in large pieces and the halibut was very small and overcooked. Our server was friendly and accommodating. He was attentive and made every attempt to keep us happy. The bartenders were also friendly but complained about their jobs quite a bit. Overall, the resort is lovely but the restaurant needs some work. I would not have gone back had we not been staying there.

Fresh catch of the day - mahi with haricot verts

Fantastic restaurant in the Embassy Suites! We got in at around 8PM on Sunday and was thankful that this place stays open til 10PM which means dinner is only an elevator ride away. We were immediately seated. I requested a booth so we could have more room and be isolated from the other guests. They do practice social distancing, staff wore masks and they sanitized each table well. I ordered a glass of cabernet and my husband had some unsweetened tea. He wasn't super hungry so we did not order an appetizer to share. Instead, I started with some leek soup. I thought it would come in a small bowl but was pleasantly surprised when a huge, steaming bowl of soup came to the table. It was delicious. You can definitely taste the leek. There were some little chunks of potatoes as well and a bit of crispy onions on top. For my main course, I ordered the fresh catch which was mahi simply but deliciously seasoned with some salt and fresh ground pepper served with some haricot verts. Wow! It was so tasty and amazing! My husband had the scallops and he enjoyed his meal as well. We did not order dessert because we were both full and tired and just wanted to get up to our room and pass out but I would love to dine here again before our trip is over so hopefully I get to!

    Butternut Squash Risotto.

We were excited about the restrained menu at H & R. We had a late dinner after the rush had cleared out. Looking for a vegetarian option, I ordered the Butternut Squash Risotto. Sadly it was not good at all. Mushy, pile, end-of-the-night dish is what was delivered. It tasted precooked and there were maybe 5 very dry pieces of squash on top that also tasted like they were cooked much earlier than served. My husband had a steak cooked to perfection. We started off with Calamari. It was a bit chewy, but had good flavor. Staff was very nice, but I would recommend the restaurant attend to quality late in the evening. 86 that Risotto if you don't plan to serve it fresh late in service.

Came here for dinner while staying at Embassy Suites! We have eaten here when the hotel first opened up and can't quite remember how the food tasted, so we made sure to try it again on our visit!! The restaurant was empty which was pretty surprising since the hotel was pretty busy! We were seated immediately, our waiter was very attentive and was great with the kids! Once our food arrived, it all looked and tasted really good. (Not pictured) but the creamed spinach was my absolute favorite!! Our steaks were cooked perfectly and the kids' meals were yummy (so they said)! On our next trip to St. Augustine we will be dining here again!

This is certainly a date night spot! The Vibe & Swag of this location is great. First thing: parking is challenging. They do have valet parking for a price or you can park by the pier and if you can find anything. We choose the valet. Which we were surprised that they were offering valet due to the pandemic but we were fine with it. The lobby is nice, big and gorgeous! The bathrooms are very clean (btw i threw a pic of the bathroom because of how nicely clean it was) which is rare. Staff is great on site! Our hostess sat us down quickly! We made reservations for 6pm, but it didn't pick up with people until 8pm. Our waitress was very sweet and great! She served us well. (Not sure if her name was Ashley or something with a A) but she was great. We were on a double date so we got our appetizers and shared. The calamari was chewy in my opinion but the breading was really tasty. The artichoke dip was really tasty and creamy. I will order that again. My friend had the Delmonico Steak ($44, 16oz)- she gave some and it was perfectly cooked and juicy with amazing flavors. My wonderful wife has the Squash Risotto. I wasn't expecting anything from this dish but wow this was so good- we added shrimp to the dish for $10 more. I do think this dish is a bit overpriced, but it was really good. My friend and I did the pork chop with cornbread- this is a dish that I will come back for. 10oz bone-in pork chop was great and a huge deep pan corn bread piece is served with it. The pork chop is coated with BBQ. It was not dry and compliments to the chef for cooking it perfect and keeping it juicy and flavorful. We ended off the night with some nice desserts. The chocolate cake was very rich and ou

We ate breakfast here every day of our stay; and, the food was terrific. There are typical offerings on the buffet; and, custom omelets at the chef station. In the back, there are juices, and soft drinks; a variety of bread and pastry items (including donuts!); and, a tip jar that is well-hidden. The oatmeal and the grits were standouts for me and my wife, as we had them each morning we dined in. The first day, the oatmeal was the best I'd ever had in my life, with a wide variety of toppings that made customizing the bowl easy and flavorful. When we ordered omelets, we tipped the chef; and, at the end of our stay we tipped the staff that bussed the tables. The restaurant manager keeps a keen eye on things; and, signs in the lobby indicate the hours and wait times to expect in the morning. My wife and I noticed they had a wine dinner scheduled in late-March, which will probably be postponed. But, we seriously considered coming up for the weekend just for the dinner event!

We had beef short rib. The portion was small and fatty. The green beans were just average. A glass of wine and one meal was $89.00.

Blackened is apparently just burnt without flavor. The cream sauce didn't help. The collard greens I took one bite and that was it. Just nothing to it. The beans and rice was ok. Coconut shrimp was too sweet with the pina sauce. Just ok. Kids loved the kraft Mac and cheese. And the burger was very bland. Nice bun though. The key lime pie was sweet but the crust was good. The staff here was very inviting and attentive, the menu is also themed and fairly priced, we ordered "The Ford Galaxie" two eggs your way, a choice of meats, choice of toast or biscuits and home fries or grit - although the winner here in my opinion is the coffee it's delicious, strong and robust. Unfortunately everything here wasn't perfect the "West Creek Whipped Spread Butter Blend" is an abomination, it ruined everything we put it on, my bad for not asking for real butter after applying it to my toast, my grits and the English Muffin we ordered, it was inedible to the point we left everything on the plate this stuff touched it wasn't refrigerated as suggested on the label I'm guessing. Our server, Justin, took quite awhile getting to us (we are certain he was just covering too many tables of 4 or more people), but he was an excellent, enthusiastic and helpful and attentive server when he arrived. The salads and entrees were fresh, loaded with high quality ingredients, and each was remarkably tasty and well made. The grilled foods were grilled to perfection and the smokey taste of the grill was embedded into every bite. Black Molly dinner salads are enormous - they are a full dinner in and of themselves. There is a Cesar, a Mediterranean, and a Chef salad offered. I had the Chef and The Boss had the Mediterranean with Shrimp. I had no idea they were as big as they were or we might have downsized a little. They came in a bowl that was really big, full of fresh mixed garden greens, excellent grilled vegetables, plump juicy tomatoes and were a delicious meal all by themselves. Half the salads went home with us to provide another meal. The shrimp were huge and perfectly prepared. The Chef Salad had great hunks of real ham and the most amazing produce and the dressings were excellent. I will be saddened to go back to store bought dressings and ranch and balsamic glazes. The venue is on A1A, right by St Augustine Beach. This was our first time there. They serve food but we had dinner beforehand, so we only had drinks. It's a nice little venue though. The show itself was awesome and Mick was so nice to meet afterwards! Why am I giving a 5 star review when we didn't even try their food? I'm at fortunate to know a few people that many would consider to be famous in the world of music. I have tagged along with them when they've done meet & greets at venues of various sizes from hundreds of fans to thousands of fans. Many, MANY venues handle these things very poorly. It ends up leaving fans feel as if the artist doesn't care about them when it's actual the venue that is unprepared and/or is treating the fans that dirt. That was absolutley NOT the case at Cafe Eleven. Every person we encountered from the staff seemed genuinely concerned with making sure the fans had a good experience. For us, this started a week prior when they took the time to email us to double check something about our order because our order was a bit odd. My wife paid for part of the order and our friends paid for the other half. The venue actually took the time to reach out to make sure we knew everything needed to match up. We did know that ahead of time but the fact that they even bothered was a touch I don't think I've ever heard of another venue taking the time to do. Well done Cafe Eleven! Based on that alone, I wouldn't think twice about driving down from Jacksonville next time there's an event at Cafe Eleven that I'm interested in.

I enjoyed the salmon salad and drinks. Everyone was so kind. There are corn tacos if you ask.read more
