They took a dirt/weed filled lawn to a beautiful lawn that we now enjoy. As much as I'd love to say I've had a positive experience with these guys, I haven't. I initially requested a quote on August 4th at which Mike, scheduled an appointment with me to meet me at my house on the 6th at 2pm to give me a quote. On the 6th, 2pm came and no call from Mike. I reached out to Mike and asked if he was coming and he said he was on his way at 2:30 and ended up getting lost. When he arrives, I let him know that I already have an appointment at 3:30 that I need to be at. He then tells me that he just needs to take a few measurements and will be able to have a quote to me in a couple days. No problem. When I arrive home, I come home to a wide open gate....I couldn't believe he didn't even shut my gate after he left my house. Recently, I tried following up with him to see where the quote was and I believe I spoke with his wife or a woman that works with him. She asks me some information about the quote and isn't able to pull up anything. She then says that she'll contact Mike and call me in an hour. Well, it's been 2 hrs and still no contact. Mike was very professional in his estimate. His workers removed bushes, being very careful to remove all the roots. Then, they planted 10, 5 gallon Little John plants. After the plantings, they installed Gorilla Mulch, being careful not to cover the existing plants. They also installed seed and topper near trees that were newly installed. They did a thorough job of cleaning up when finished. David and Leo were very personable and easy to communicate with. When Mike and his partner came out to give an estimate, they seemed professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, once the deposit was given and the project started, the quality of work quickly declined. I never saw Mike or his partner again until Mike came to collect final payment. We had a pretty substantial, but basic job. We needed our entire backyard landscaped. However, The space was already leveled and hardscape completed. We basically hired Connor's Landscaping to install irrigation, sod, and plants. Pretty easy, 2-3 day job. Wow, did they mess up! The "foreman" showed up with very little understanding of the job. He arrived with pallets of plants, but not the ones we asked for. I should explain that I gave a detailed list of the EXACT plants we wanted, mostly California natives. Mike and his partner agreed to get them. Unfortunately, most of the plants Connor's brought were the wrong ones. To make matters worse, I had to take a day off work and drive to the nursery to get the plants we asked for. Here's the kicker, I had to pay for the plants out of pocket and was not reimbursed. The $4000 worth of shrubs Connor's did get right were of poor quality. 16 of the 24 shrubs died within the first month! On a positive note, Connor's did replace the dead shrubs. However, 4 more have died since, and time will tell if we'll lose more. The sod they planted was cheap and very uneven. Much of it is in bad shape and dying as I type this. We also asked for pea gravel (picture included), but were given cheap, coarse gray rocks. I had to purchase and cover the rocks with pea gravel myself. This was a labor intensive job. After work was completed, I asked Mike to come in person to answer questions and get final payment. It was at this time that he told me our foreman quit. I explained that the foreman acted unprofessionally, did poor work, and repeatedly lied to me throughout the the project. He apologized for the lack of attention to the job, took my money and left. We paid a LOT for this somewhat simple job...over 10k! If it wasn't for our busy work schedule, we could have done it on our own. It's so disappointing to hire "experts" who are so incompetent. We recently bought a house and were in need of outdoor lighting and landscape design. When we purchased the home there were a lot of dead plants and no real lighting for the front and back yard. I reached out to Connor's Landscape for a quote two weeks before Thanksgiving and Michael the owner was on time and professional. Connor's Landscape specializes in drought resistant designs which is eco friendly, minimal upkeep and little water usage plants (cactus, agave, Fire plants). Michael had great ideas for our property when it came to the type of plants that he recommended and also the placement of step lights and up lights throughout our property. Fast forward two days later i have a quote which is competitively priced and unlike other companies Michael has a large team so they would only 2-3 days max (other companies quoted about 3-4 weeks to complete). I also had the pleasure of meeting Joe the General Manager who oversees the overall vision of the project. Joe is precisely on time for any meeting we had to walk the property and ensure the quality is what i wanted. When it was all said and done we had an immaculate transformation in which our entire property had fluidity from the plants and lights on the street to the front and back yard. I hired them feeling like they really knew how to provide quality work. They were responsive and came out quickly, came across pretty convincing. The plan was to change the type of sprinkler heads in my front yard plus add drip irrigation in planters. The backyard sprinklers were to remain the same (I kept insisting, however, that a spot in the middle needed its own supply because it wasn't getting hit enough by the existing sprinklers). Well, they changed not only the front yard sprinklers, but the backyard ones also, and come to find out they didn't ensure there was adequate coverage. Plus multiple sprinkler heads stopped functioning correctly not long after. My grass died. And as for the drip irrigation, when I signed the contract I was under the impression they'd put several lines in the planters because that's what I told them I wanted. They only put one line for the roses I had. What a waste of my over $2k. read more

Mike is extremely knowledgeable about materials and was instrumental in transforming our set-of-Mad-Max backyard into a peaceful, private park for us and our animals. He had come out numerous times to educate us on what we could do best to prep the land for landscaping. Several months later, after the land was cleared properly, he and his crew led by Lupe descended on the yard, creating the landscape (using a design we had already made) and following the design perfectly. The irrigation system is water-conscious and all the plants are safe for our animals. Mike's guidance throughout the whole process as well as his close communication made this a great experience. These guys are professionals. That's why I called them. I knew they would do a great job, and they did. The reviews on Yelp tell you so, and so do other reviews. After calling them and letting them know what I wanted to do, they were pretty prompt in their response and sending someone over for an estimate. I basically wanted new sod w/irrigation in my backyard, in addition to some rose bushes. I also asked that some old rocks (or "boulders") that were well planted, cemented into the ground by a past homeowner for aesthetic purposes be removed. Once I got clarification on the estimate and what it included (so there was no misunderstanding or scope creep), I pulled the trigger. They were up front with me that this project would be 3-4 weeks out based on other jobs they were working on. But to my pleasant surprise, they came out way, way earlier than expected. Adrian was the first to arrive, friendly, on-time, and ready to kick it all off. Adrian scraped the soil and ensure all weeds and any vegetation were removed. He got most of it done in a day all by himself. Remember: pro! As the week went on the work crew came in, along with Ernie, and hooked up the new sprinkler system and drip irrigation system properly, and took out all the rock-scape, include a BEAST of a rock that was heavily cemented to the cement patio. (I think they jackhammered it for three hours to break it down, because they didn't want to ruin the patio cement. It was quite epic, and they went above and beyond.) Finally, the landscape was ready for NEW GRASS, and when the work was done I was shown the ropes on how to care for it. I did not have to worry about programming the watering schedule for at least two weeks, thankfully, and I was shown how to erase a program once we were able to go back to a regular schedule. It took them one full week, Monday-Friday, to get the whole job finished--very good timing! After they were done, I promptly paid them and wished them a great weekend. I will definitely call up Connor's Landscape for any of my future needs. If you want quality. If you want it done right. If you are looking for a good experience. Call Connor's. Don't settle for a place that will sell you on "fast and cheap." Get it done correctly. Thanks, Connor's! read more
