My experience at 1800 conroys flower was totally AWFUL. *disclaimer this is an online order delivery* I actually wanted to put zero star but it didn't let me. I ordered flower last year and I though it was an great experience so I ordered it again for Mother's Day. But I regret buying it from here. First of all I paid extra to get delivered on Saturday, the day before Mother's Day because it was unavailable to deliver it on Mother's Day. But the next day after I ordered my flower I got a call from them that they can't deliver on Sunday, so I was like oh then can you guys deliver it on Mother's Day? They said yes so we were expecting the flower to deliver on Mother's Day. But it never came and I tracked my flower and it wasn't even shipped, like wtf. so I called them again and told them it didn't deliver, so of course I asked them for a refund because I paid extra for delivery on weekend or on Mother's Day, they told us that they will give us $20 back and told me that it will deliver on Tuesday, and I didn't get my money back from them so I called them AGAIN. They offered me a $20 worth credits for 1800 conroys flower, but I said oh I don't need credits for it because I wouldn't buy anything here on the future because I wasn't satisfied. BUT UNFORTUNATELY they said they can't do anything except for that. LIKE why? We paid extra and it didn't deliver on time and who would want to buy things from them?!?! And in addition the flower was delivered inside a box upside down and all the flower was bent. I DO NOT RECOMMEND BUYING FLOWER ONLINE FROM THEM!!!!!!! read more

I have always thought that employees that work at florists, bakeries and similar must be the happiest employees! Most of the time, they are dealing with celebrations such as graduations, birthdays, weddings and so on. And in my past experience, I have been right in my assumption because I've always had the best experience. In fact, the delivery and customer service adds to the experience. Afterall, we can all just go to a supermarket but we choose to go to specialists to make it even more special. My first ever negative experience was with Conroys (and I had experiences with all major florists including when I planned a wedding in New York City!) In short my experience was as follows: 1. The driver called and said they were outside of my apartment building and were looking to be let in. At the same time, we have a concierge downstairs who would have been able to let the driver in no problem. 2. The driver kept calling me even when I said I was not home and they should approach the front door. After a few minutes, the concierge updated me that the driver was in her car across the street even though I had specifically advised to come to the front door if they would like to be let in. 3. I got angry follow up calls from the driver including comments like "I cant wait around forever" even though it was less than 5 minutes and they were not even at the front door. 4. The driver did not deliver the full package (the balloon was left behind and I only found out about it because the sender asked if I received it" 5. I called Conroys the same day of delivery, left a message and didn't hear back. The next day, I called again and after a few hand offs to different people, I did talk to customer service rep who was the least friendliest customer service rep I have ever encountered. I tried to explain my experience to her and she said "well, that's not the story I got from the driver." I felt like I should defend myself (on my birthday!) and said, "if you would like, I can provide phone records and text message records." To sum up, if you are looking for a nasty experience to go along with your flowers, order from Controys. However, I feel that you would be better off partnering with a supermarket. I share this because I would not want anyone else to experience what I experienced while celebrating something in midst of a pandemic! Hope this helps someone! read more

I understand some of the flowers were not in season but the order was placed about a week ago and enough time to notify us. When we called the lady was unsympathetic never apologized. These were for a funeral service. This is very disappointing and unacceptable especially during time of mourning. I was here on Friday evening, though I wish I wasn't. I was on my way to a viewing and funeral for a woman who was like a mother to me. From the day I met her, she treated me like family. She always told me how much she loved me and that I was her second daughter. The heartbreak I have been experiencing since her death is indescribable. I wanted to bring flowers to her - she always loved flowers - but I don't like funeral arrangements. They look like death and sadness to me, and I just can't bring myself to buy them. I explained to the owner, Sang Lee, what I wanted: not a good-bye, but a valentine. I started out by selecting a vase and asking for an arrangment created around white roses. Sang helped guide me to the right flowers to make a stunning bouquet of white and yellow that included alstroemeria, gladioli, lilies, and lisianthus. At the last minute, and after I'd already paid, he added some beautiful white orchids - one of my favorite flowers - as a final touch. He made the arrangement quickly, but with care, and constantly consulted with me to be sure it was what I wanted. It turned out exactly as I imagined. I ordered 2 dozen roses for Valentine's a week in advance of the 14th. Because of my fiancee's location, I was told that the order would be delivered by their sister location in Torrance. I was also told by the owner that the delivery would be made before noon on the 14th. Noon passes and still no flowers. I call the Long Beach location and the owner is 'on the phone'. I call the Torrance location and they refer me back to the originating site since the flowers and order was taken there. I call again and the owner is 'with a customer'. I call again and the owner had 'just left'. I had also left my phone number and described the situation so as to get a call back. As of now, I have yet to hear from the owner. Fortunately, my fiancee eventually got her flowers...a DAY LATER! Still no word from the Long Beach owner. It turns out he transcribed the delivery information incorrectly which could explain the runaround the flowers got yesterday...not much different than the one I got. Employees are nice enough when you order. That's pretty much the extent of the good business practice once the order is made. This REGULAR customer is no longer returning to this location. read more

I went into Conroy's for the simple fact that the store offers 20% to AAA members but when I purchased the flowers the system would not acknowledge the discount. I asked, so I could satisfy my curiosity if they offered a discount to military personnel and was told yes, only to the active military. AAA receives a greater discount than active military. I will take my business, AAA discount, and veteran status elsewhere. I was told that the owner may be able to fix the system that did not honor the AAA discount, but that action would not happen for a few days. I went into the store BECAUSE of the discount and still could not get it. read more

If I could give this business zero stars I sure would or even negative. I called and asked if I can have an arrangement to be ready in two days and was told no problem at all. I asked for a specific time and told it would be no problem. The next day I get a phone call to say the vase that was shown with the picture would not be available because the one vase they had was cracked and they didn't have anymore. I think they could've reached out to another Conroy's to get the vase but I guess that would've been too much for them. I was told the vase that they would give me would be "more expensive " on the morning of my pick up I called an hour before my order was to be ready to make sure that it would be ready at the specified time. I was assured at that time yes it will be ready. I received a phone call seven minutes later telling me they need to move my time to 30 minutes later because they had too many graduation flowers to arrange. I was on a specific time frame with my flowers so it was not convenient for me when I asked the girl who called so you think that my arrangement is not as important as the graduation flowers and she said yes. Couldn't believe my ears I think her name was Alicia. I asked if there was any type of compensation for the late pick up and she informed me that she didn't have the power to do that. I purposely arrived 15 minutes later. There were my flowers sitting on the counter. The girl did not greet me, a hello, i'm sorry that you had to wait, she absolutely said nothing to me. I asked about a card to write a message and she said they're over there pointing. This place has the absolute worst customer service I've encountered in a long time. They certainly don't care about their customers. I will never go there again. read more

I recently worked with Conroy's to do the flowers for my wedding (10-8-16). I worked with Elsy throughout the whole process and I am grateful for her creative eye, patience, and amazing work. While planning a wedding is a stressful experience, Elsy made sure flowers were one aspect I would not have to worry about. We communicated via e-mail and discussed different options for the centerpieces, boutonnieres, corsages, bouquets, and decorations for the ceremony space that she would ultimately design for us. We met in person once a few weeks before the wedding where she showed me the types of flowers available and finalized what our color scheme would be. Conroy's delivered the flowers, on time, on the day of the wedding and they looked amazing! I had an idea of what I wanted when I met with Elsy and she was able to use her talent/creativity to make suggestions that, while still being true to what I wanted, was far better than what I could have put together on my own. I help my partner with his wedding business and he specializes in wedding decor. So I'm fairly experienced in flowers and whatnot. But anyways, I bought flowers there last week because I needed something quick before I dropped by my dad's grave. The selection of flowers for daily arrangements was ok. Very typical, common flowers you could find anywhere. I noticed the flowers were wilting a bit and looked like they had been bought the previous week...not all the flowers, just the stock and the daisies that I ended up buying. I bought a couples of irises as well and they looked fine. I worked with flowers enough to know how they look when you bring them back from the flower market and how they look a week later...and the flowers I bought look just like that...a week old. But apart from that, the staff member that assisted me was very helpful. She came up to me right away to make sure I was ok which I greatly appreciated. I didn't catch her name but she looks as though she was mixed with asian and white. Very very nice and professional. The other Korean girl in the background however did not look professional at all. She was on the phone chatting with someone on her cell phone. I'm big on customer service since I've worked in the service industry before and just something about being on your personal phone and yapping away in front of customers is not cool to me. And doing it in a foreign language (Korean) does not help either. read more

I don't often run into a store at the very last second to purchase ANYTHING, let alone flowers when I have no idea what I want, BUT that's exactly what I had to do on Friday night. My significant other and I are very close to a family, and the father/husband had a heart attack and died suddenly, and unexpectedly. We were on the the way to see the mother and daughters for the first time after this tragedy. I CAN'T BELIEVE OUR LUCK BECAUSE WE HAD THE BEST SERVICE EVER FROM DESTINY, AT CONROY'S ON LAKEWOOD BLVD!!! Destiny NEVER made us feel rushed, even though it was closing time. She let me pick out items to create three bouquets. Then she put the flowers and these cute cardinals together and made them even prettier than I thought they would be. Destiny was so kind. She was awesome when we were stressed. She made us feel good, and she made some sad people feel very happy with their beautiful little flower arrangements. Florists were rare to come by on Labor Day. Called to check if they were also closed and fortunately, Diana picked up to let me know they were open. Visited with low expectations and wasn't surprised that they did not have an ample selection. Diana introduced herself and regrettably informed me that the store probably failed to replenish their stock, seeing that it would be a holiday. However, she did still offer her assistance if I was ever in need. I was determined to leave with a bouquet so with the help of my imagination, I was able to spot some interesting flower and color variations, and called her over to help me gather some flowers. Midst my pointing and misreading, Diana patiently picked all the flowers I had requested. Followed her to the counter and also let her know that I had a specific material in mind. I mildly paid attention to how she intricately arranged my bouquet. As for the material I requested, she was only able to find a scrap of it after searching without relent. I still challenged her to make something out of it and was pleased with the inventiveness she ultimately exhibited for me. She added, "The greatest creativity comes from necessity". I can't promise the same experience I had. Not at all was I in a rush and the place was totally empty. I also feel like I got lucky with the right person and right kind of flowers, enough to suit my needs. Long story short, ask for Diana.
