The two women working at Conscious Coffee this morning of July 10 were mildly rude to the tourists and extremely rude to the 1 local who stopped by. He parked illegally in a way that blocked their drive but instead of asking him to move (which he did), the two workers came out to loudly make fun of him and laugh at him. I haven't seen ladies act like this outside of high school movies like mean girls. Sundo sandwich was terribly greasy and not tasty. So the entire visit was a disappointment from service to food. read more

Stopped in to Talkeetna for the weekend and was ecstatic to find this gem. The house coffee is perfectly balanced and roasty. I love that they use fair trade beans and give a mug discount. I had a breakfast sandwich on a parmesan bagel with spinach. It came out hot and the over medium egg cooked perfectly. Two cute gals were running the show here and they do it with generosity and efficiency. The ambiance is the perfect hole in the wall, rural mountain coffee shop. Conscious coffee is a perfect small town coffee shop which is cute and cozy. They have many varieties of coffee from drip to breve. Coffee is delicious and they also have breakfast bagel sandwiches. I was in a hurry so I couldn't try their crepes. My only suggestion for them would be to add cream cheese to their bagel sandwiches. read more

Charming and good coffee with nice granola. It's a nice feeling of "being in Alaska". Clearly the owner cares and is involved. Walked in and immediately loved how cute and funky this little coffee shop is. You could feel the sense of community and they had quite a variety of food and drinks. The barista initially greeted us then when we started ordering, her attitude towards us dramatically changed resulting in a negative experience. She glared at us, was rude when I asked if they had vanilla flavoring, and it took her a solid 10 minutes to make a smoothie. It seemed like it took a lot of effort for her to be rude to us. I'm in the service industry so I understand the importance of tipping but I was very close to not tipping her that's how awful her service was. 1 Star because I got the green juice smoothie and it is really good. We visited Conscious Coffee at the recommendation of the volunteer at the Talkeetna Historical Society's museum. The coffee was great, the atmosphere was cozy, and it was fun to listen to the barista greet friends as they were returning to town for the summer season.
