This place was just the cutest little coffee shop in the cutest little town. The tea I got was delicious and my fiancés smoothie was just as good. The workers were quick and friendly and I loved that that they had a little clothing rack for thrifted clothes to buy with your coffee. When we travel back to Alaska I will be coming back here! read more

Staying at the Talkeenta Alaskan Lodge, food options are limited unless you can swallow paying the astronomical prices. Browsed Yelp last night, and saw a recent review from a closed minded individual complaining about flags that ruined their chance for local coffee. I had presumed it was a pride flag, but I'm now 99% sure that it was the Palestinian flag that caused them to miss out on delicious coffee and breakfast. Conscious Coffee is a woman locally owned business that offers everything from drip coffee to crepes, milkshakes, lattes and smoothies. Prices are more than reasonable especially considering location. There's a small seating area outside with about 6 various sized tables to sit and enjoy your coffee, pastries and more. Customer service was top notch. Feels good to support a women owned business especially because of the flags. read more

Stopped by for breakfast based on the recommendation of their crepes. Outdoor dining area that is covered to stay dry if raining. My wife ordered the traveler crepes which were stuffed with spinach, feta, walnuts, and Kalamata olives. I ordered the sunrise sandwich which was an everything bagel with egg and cheddar cheese. There are limited choices when wanting a cup of espresso or coffee in Talkeetna. Most of the places are low rated and this was highest so I was intrigued. My favorite Yelper did not give this place a great, but neutral review, but I'd thought I'd try anyway. There was a long line, which we have no problem waiting at all! After about 10 minutes of no moving and listening to the woman bark at a customer for ordering her coffee too "complicated" we decided this would not be the place for our group. We went down to the end of the road to Main Street Coffee and she had all four of our speciality drinks made so quick and was super friendly and made sure we liked our drinks before we left! So, this wasn't my first choice (was aimin' for Spinach Bread, but they were gone for the season). But it turned out okay. The Sunrise Sandwich was tasty and hubs had the Peanut Butter, Banana, & Honey Bagel. We both enjoyed them. Would've liked them even more if there'd been a good place to sit. The inside is WAAAAY to small, and the covered patio area isn't much bigger. Yeah, there's plenty of table and chairs out in the yard, but it was a HUGE muddy mess that day and never stopped raining. If they could put some of their money back in to fix up the yard, or add on to the patio, that would help. read more

Saw this place when walking through Talkeeta and decided to stop in. The line was long so there's a bit of a wait to order and receive your goods. They have coffees, shakes, and crepes. I didn't try the food, but the drinks I got were meh. My dirty chai didn't have any chai flavor. My hubby's Iced mocha didn't really taste like mocha. Honestly they both kind of tasted the same. On the plus side the ambiance is really chill and relax. I like that there's lots of seating under shade and it's a nice place to take a break. read more

If you're going for the Alaska vibe that was present in "Northern Lights" it doesn't get any more bohemian local than this. I had thought this had indoor seating based on some of the photos here. Apparently, the morning we went, it was window service and there was a small library open for reading. I only saw one table for two inside. It was pretty cold out so we got our food to go. Husband had one of the sunrise bagel sandwiches which was good but a bit greasy. I had the overnight oats which was pretty good. Prices are a bit high for what you get, but it's Alaska. Coffee was good, I liked that they would put it in my travel mug. read more

First place we came after we got off 2 hours bus ride from Anchorage in the early morning. They had a long queue but we had fun chatting with strangers. Most people were ordering bagels but for some reasons, the crepe they have sounded intriguing. The Puka was savory crepe with sliced apple, walnuts, spinach, some cheese. Quintessential "cute coffee shop" in downtown Talkeetna. The coffee is good, and so is the food: mainly crepes. The wait times though, are just...absurd. Absurd wait times are one thing, but waiting 30 minutes for a coffee with NO EXPLANATION OR COMMUNICATION about they why or no updates on the status is...pretty brutal. Sweet little place on the main road. They do breakfast all day. It is tiny inside but they have space outside. They have a full coffee menu and can make a lot of different kind of crepes. I got the cinnamon butter sugar one. However, I got a bite of the lemon butter sugar one and that was da bomb. Both were delicious. I could probably have eaten two crepes myself. We stopped here on a Tuesday morning when everything in town was closed. There were long lines and even longer waiting time once you ordered. We ordered the crepe (which was just ok), bagel and cream cheese (you can't really go wrong with that one), granola yogurt parfait (which was decent). The coffee was really smooth and made it worth it. It is decently priced compared to other options in the area. They have covered outdoor seating (4-5 tables) which was a blessing side it was pouring when we went. No decent restroom though, you had to use the portable toilet. read more
