I found Nick on Yelp and was immediately impressed with him during our initial consultation. We had…read morea substantial backyard overhaul and met with several landscaping companies to get quotes- Nick understood our vision immediately and in a way none of the others did. Admittedly, the only thing that gave me any pause was that he doesn't have many reviews- don't let that deter you!! Nick gave us an incredible design and worked with us to revise and phase it out for budget purposes. We completed phase 1 of the work with him this spring (deck demo and paver patio install) and it was absolutely seamless. From tweaking design to picking materials, Nick was always accessible and a great communicator. His crew worked quickly and efficiently and we are SO thrilled with our new outdoor space. We'll be calling Nick again next year to tackle the rest of our project! Cannot recommend him highly enough.

We hired Nick and Viewpoint Design Group LLC to landscape our backyard in April 2022. Our project…read moreincluded design services, complete removal of existing backyard landscaping and patio, save for one tree, pouring of a new concrete patio and hot tub pad, installation of a gas fire pit and gas line for our grill, new sod, 5 large trees, around 20 plants, and a new irrigation system to include new valves and lines. Many aspects of the project fell short, and if you don't want to read any further, my recommendation is to look elsewhere for your landscaping needs. Pros -Very solid design work, our backyard originally looked great and the design is much more functional and private. Cons -Patio: the subcontractor ran short on concrete and I witnessed them pulling what was left from the pump lines and a catch tray to complete the project. The result is a portion of our patio that has incorrect drainage/pooling, spalling and cracking. -Irrigation: and entirely new system, including valves, was supposed to be installed. None of the valves were replaced and I am now having significant problems that will require a complete replacement of the 20 year old valves. -Plants: Nick assured me that the 7 boxwoods he had planned would hold up to my two male dogs. They were dead within 3 months, replaced under his warranty, and were all dead again the following spring. In researching, it turns out that boxwoods are not tolerant of dog urine whatsoever and something else should have been used. -Fire pit: beautiful centerpiece in our backyard. Unfortunately, it was slammed together at the last minute and the internal structure couldn't support the lava rock. I rebuilt it myself less than 6 months after the project was completed. Lawn: extremely lumpy and uneven, is going to require a bunch of sand and labor to get it where it needs to be. I spoke with Nick many times after our project was completed to address some of these issues (not all were immediately present or known about) and was brushed off and made to feel like I was putting him out...after cutting him a check for $60k. Not only is the value not there, I am now paying a second time for things that weren't done correctly the first time and in some case were borderline fraudulent like the sprinkler valves.

Your review: We met…read morewith Tia Sr. Landscape Designer, around our backyard project. Tia was a great partner with supporting our vision and her design work adding a large burm area. Tia added some great ideas to our vision. We also updated our irrigation system for our front and backyard. She asked us great question for us to consider a few things we had not thought about. ALD and Tina were willing to work with us using some stone we had purchased for our design. Tina was a great project manager keeping us informed and the project team direction as needed. The landscape core team did an outstanding job on bringing the actual design to life. The high quality and pride taken in the work the completed was outstanding. The competed project was done in the time frame in our work agreement. It looks fantastic!! We couldn't be more happy. I would highly recommend Tia and team at American Landscape & Design. Their quote was reasonable for the level of work needed in our project.

We were so pleased with the team at ADL. Our back patio was a dated concrete slab, a firepit with…read morestone seating wings, and a failing retaining wall. All landscape was over grown. Steve and team came in and installed pavers, updated the firepit, rebuilt the retaining wall and steps giving the whole patio a new modern look. The surrounding landscape was refreshed with color and privacy in mind. Rain and snow drainage was a priority in the design to ensure we aren't dealing with a problem down the road. The team was timely, professional and a pleasure to work with. I would definitely call upon them again.

He was able to come the next day to confirm the necessary work and the estimate. He replaced a leaky manifold, and malfunctioning sprinkler heads, and set up my new Rainbird Controller. Dan has considerable irrigation system experience based on his commercial work with golf courses. He understands common failure modes based on the age and type of parts and materials used in irrigation systems. He also understands local soil composition and its role in irrigation systems. His work was high quality and his price was reasonable.

I was also having an issue with the drip line in my sprinkler system. He was able to find the problem quickly and fixed it at a good price. The issues we had are related to the copper pipe work. I would not recommend him for those types of jobs. On his first trip to our house, he left such a downward angle in the piping that I wouldn't be able to drain all of the water out in the fall. He agreed to come out and correct the issue. On his second visit, he redid the pipe work but somehow made everything worse. There was still a downward slope on the inlet pipe to the backflow preventer (see picture), and the outflow pipe was now crooked. I ended up paying another company to come out and correct his mistakes. I would recommend Dan for poly pipe problems. I would NOT recommend him for any copper pipe work. I don't think that's his area of expertise.

The work was done quickly and efficiently even in this summer's blistering heat. In just three days, the yard went from dirt to beautiful, tiered flagstone walls. The quality of this team's work is excellent. Sergio, the owner, provided a complete written quote that outlined the pertinent details and was supported with AI generated images of the "after" look, which confirmed that we were on the same page regarding the design. Once underway, the job progressed quickly and smoothly. (We're doing the planting, which is in progress.) Would we turn the SRG Hardscaping again should we need stone or brick work in the future? Absolutely.

Unprofessional work, safety hazards, and refused to fix mistakes and stand behind their work--do…read morenot recommend. I hired Colorado Native Landscapes last year to reduce weeds in my backyard and reset a rock wall and 'refresh' the area. Unfortunately, the project with the owner,Janice Vogt, was plagued by poor practices and unfulfilled promises. They removed some established plants without permission and never replaced them. Worse, when they took up my existing flagstone--which had been perfectly stable and safe to walk on for 14 years- to lay a new layer of mulch they proceeded to re lay it directly on top of that loose mulch. When I pointed out how unstable this was, she charged me an extra $2,300 to take it all back up again and pack that mulch properly and put a layer of rock for the flagstone to lay upon. This should have been figured into the original bid. Despite the extra fee, the work did not hold up. Now, just less than a year later the stones are shifting, wobbly, and creating severe tripping hazards. As an older homeowner, this is a major safety concern. When I called Janice to come and look at the situation this past month, she did finally agree to come out but then refused to fix it. In the end she used the excuse that she "doesn't normally use the clients material" (something that she'd NEVER mentioned before) and that my flagstone wasn't good. (In the contract itself it says "Colorado Native Landscaping warranties all hardscape materials and 'workmanship' for a period of two (2) years. They cut corners, didn't solve my weed issue, and left me with a hazardous situation in my back yard, which I will have to pay someone else to remedy. Disgusted. Avoid this company. I have a dated and signed contract with this company. Carole B

This is the kind of review I REALLY do not like to do…read more To start, I had been emailing with Janice over a few days, and scheduled a meeting at our home build for today, Sunday at 11 AM. Our email conversation started with making the appointment to meet. Then Janice asked for a survey, so I sent over the plot plan so she could put together a rough plan as she asked for "must haves" which I sent over same day. That was Thursday. So now it is Sunday, we are at the house, waiting. As time passes we discussed how long we are going to wait etc. My wife tells me I should email Janice, but I told her she is not going to see it if she is driving. At about 11:20 I called Janice, went straight to VM. I called a minute or so later to leave a message, it rang a few times and then went to VM, so I left a voice mail to find out if she was still on the way, to call back to let me know, and I left my number. 6 or 7 minutes later, Janice emails me. WTH? Why can't you return my call?! Let me know you are not going to bother to attend a meeting that was scheduled 5 days ago?! This is what I got in return via email, to my phone calls and voice mail: "Sorry for any confusion this morning. I was going to work on the estimate and concept before we met to make sure my print is in line with your budget." Needless to say, Janice, I will not be calling or emailing you again...
