AND, he said it was such a small purchase I could just have them for free. At other times, like when installing a solar system on my van, I've needed many different bits and pieces, different kinds of fasteners and washers, and it's awesome to be able to find just the amount you need (with a few backups) and not pay 50 times at a big box store for what you can get here in the bulk bins. They also fill propane tanks, very handy and helpful. The first time I ever went there, a few years ago, I just wandered the aisles for a long time. Someone asked me if I needed help and I answered "No thanks, I'm just seeing what all you have - and the answer is, EVERYTHING!" Seriously, recently I needed some hair dye and they even had that. There was one time I needed a manilla envelope - I'd looked for one while in San Diego, and all I could find was at Staples and you had to buy 20. Well, True Value has onesies for sale. Who'd have thought a small rural outfit would be much better value than a big chain store in the city!

I mentioned my 87-year-old dad was visiting and I was trying to fix it before he tried to climb a ladder himself--he completely got it and made sure I left with a solid plan. Went here to buy supplies to fasten a rack on my bike. Wandered around for 2 mins, lost as a…read morenewborn pup, and Reuben at the front desk asked if I needed any help. Told him what I was trying to do and he took me to two metal clamping options to fasten the rack on the bike and even went out to the front to see how they would worked. He gave me tools and cut rubber lining to secure the clamps on the bike and we did it all right in the front of the shop. HUGE help! Thank you again Reuben!
