So good! Feels like a SF food truck - authentic, savory, flavorful, fresh! Super yummy. I had the birria (delicious!), the carnitas tacos and the steak tacos. All were quite good. The tortillas were ok on the tacos but delicious in the birria! And the consume sooo flavorful. I really hope this truck does well because I want to keep going back to try more. Nothing tasty about the burrito -- and it relies on cheese (a cheap gimmick that doesn't belong in a good burrito) to cover up that fact. It comes with "salsa" which is just mysterious red liquid and green fluid in tiny plastic containers. And they are very skimpy with the chips -- not very good either -- which come in a very small plastic bag (rather than a biodegradable paper bag like most places). To top it off, it's one of the more expensive burritos available in town. There are at least a half dozen better places to get a much better burrito on the go in San Rafael (not even counting the nice dine-in Mexican restaurants). read more

My girlfriend and I noticed this place on yelp and decided to give it a try, we were not disappointed! It was dark and slightly rainy so it was a little hard to find the food truck as it was behind another business and had tarps to keep the dining room dry. The food was very good though! Definitely think the quesabirrias were our favorite though and would go back for those. The torta and burrito were very good but were a little smaller than expected. However the prices are pretty on Par with restaurants around marin county and seem reasonable for what you are getting. You can tell the food truck is run by a family and would def recommend supporting this local business! Very nice service, and friendly people. read more

The pupusas were fire for a good price. The cabbage topping was delicious and had great flavor. The fresh water of the day was watermelon which isn't a big favorite of mine but it was decent. The cooks were nice, and it seemed as if the food was made to order due to the longer waiting time (nothing too crazy long). I would definitely come again and try their other menu items!! Through NextDoor and via word of mouth, Consuelos Kitchen is starting to get some serious local attention. Located off North San Pedro Road behind the 7-11, this food truck with very casual outdoor seating is - for my wife and I - the real thing when it comes to great Mexican food that falls outside of the rather templatized similar cuisines all over Marin (and don't get me wrong - many of these are good, even very good) It appears that the owner/operator of the truck - Consuelo - has been sharing her delicious food via her home for quite some time, and has fairly recently opened a Food Truck that serves outstanding, out-of-the-template Mexican food. We both had tacos - she had Al Pastor, I had beef - and I also had a Huarache with chorizo. When I watched my wife devour her first taco, I realized that her reaction was the same as mine - this is out of this world. And I've never had a Huarache, but the combination of the shell (I presume it's made from masa dough), topped by a bean spread and then myriad toppings - was almost a meal unto itself. Although they had available outdoor seating, we opted to eat in the car as bees are apparently a frequent visitor (and I few wanted to attack our food). But the food - both affordable and incredibly delicious - is well worth a visit. We were headed there today when my wife remembered that they were going to be closed for a special event today (possibly catering?) - and also for three days later in the week. Check their Instagram as you never know when it will be closed on a scheduled open day. I think their hours are 10-10:30 but I could be wrong; their website says they open at 4, but that's not the case currently. read more

I picked up a super chicken burrito and it exceeded my expectations. The location is hidden near the 7/11, in the back of a parking lot. The burrito was handed to me piping hot about five minutes after ordering, and it included some chips and salsa that was pretty good. Consuelo and her husband catered our wedding last weekend and the food was absolutely delicious! Folks were raving about the pupusas in particular, but everything was perfect, including the cucumber lime aqua fresca (that had just the right amount of tartness) and was a hit over ice with tequila:). We were super happy with everything and loved working with their daughter Stephanie to make it all happen! She also was there for the party and made sure everything ran smoothly. A friend and I ordered 6 birria tacos and a sprite for around $30. The tacos were absolutely amazing! They came with consommé for dipping, lime, and green tomatillo salsa. I had no idea there was a taco truck and cute little covered dining area tucked away next to the 7-11! I sampled the tacos - steak and al pastor. The quality of the meat was excellent! Very generous portions - I'd be happy with even half the amount they gave me. The meat gave off plenty of rich, fatty juices that I was licking off my fingers. The tortillas were so good - would not be surprised if they were handmade. My only small critique was the use of raw red onion instead of white onion. Red onion is just a little bitter for me. Otherwise, this is a great addition to the neighborhood and I will definitely eat here again! read more
