    Easily just tasted the worst burrito of my entire life. 100% i wish I went to taco bell. First off it's already not a good sign when theres lettuce in a burrito. On top of that the salsa is so bad it makes you want to gag when you taste it. Its sprinkles into the burrito as well so its almost impossible to even eat around the cold hard shredded cheese and sour cream and soggy lettuce. It reminded me of a little kid might make or put together. Overall i had a bit better expectations of at least having something edible in San Rafael, but I was wrong. Hopefully they learn what effort is because their food has none, nor heart, or seasoning.

    I am on the road with my dog and hoped to find a place downtown when I could keep an eye on my car and eat something good. Alas. It was the 'No Kings' day and downtown San Rafael was clogged with humans and cars. So I drove in bigger and bigger circles until I found this place. I had a shrimp cocktail and two tacos al pastor. The food is good! I thin Mecivcan style shrimp cocktails could be a huge dad. So wrong. So delicious! Here they bring it out with a bottle of Heinz so you can add your own. I am so, so white guy. I love it to death. The tacos didn't look like much but they were tasty and the pork was tender. I am spoiled by tacos al pastor I ate in Mexico City and to me the meat has to be cooked and sauced in the vertical spit. It's way better than when the cook the he meat on a flat top or pan. That said I enjoyed them and would pay for them again. Good food and nice service. Bring your translator. The neighborhood vibe is industrial and there is a tent city 100' away.

    This food is the best! Great flavors and generous portions. My favorite recently is the Chile Relleno plate. So delicious! The staff are great too. Highly recommended!

    Seriously impressed by this place. Super friendly service and great food. Stumbled in with a multigenerational group of 5, about 9pm Sunday night. Food was super fresh, gorgeous preparation, salsas were incredible.

The inside vibe was great, with tons of people drinking/eating and having a good time. When we got seated, we ended up ordering just a few oysters and a 3pc fish and chips. The oysters were pretty good and fresh, with a great vinaigrette on the side to pair with them. The fish and chips, however, were the obvious stars of the show. The fish were nice and golden, with a very crisp texture, and more importantly large and generous. The fries were nicely seasoned and plentiful. The fish was really tasty (you can choose the type of fish depending on what they have on hand, and some cost extra between $2-$10. We chose the standard option for the day: Rockfish), easily one of the better fish and chips I have had - just an incredibly simple, but well executed dish. While the tartar sauce was a good pairing, the real standout pairing was Hook Fish's own carrot habanero hot sauce with the tartar sauce and the oyster vinaigrette. I have never had something like a carrot based hot sauce, but it really works by contrasting the spiciness of the habanero with a slightly sweet carrot undertone. Strange, but it gave the classic fish and chips a unique twist that sets it apart from the competition. While eating we saw tons of different dishes fly out the kitchen as well, such as poke burritos, large portions of chips and salsa/guacamole, and fish tacos. Not flour & water library paste thick. but with the right pasta would have been an ersatz linguine alle vongole (less actual clams). Or adding potatoes would make it the soup of the day which I've been noticing more often on menus is termed "potato chowder". (about this last I'd like to take issue: how can a thickened potato soup rightly be called a chowder given that in traditional chowder recipes the essential ingredient is in fact potatoes (no? ask google). I figure to a marketing kind of mind calling this bland goo a chowder lends a certain cachet that mere "soup" lacks, for whatever that'$ worth) Where was I? oh yeah, i should add that neither potatoes nor pasta were in this clam soup, but to avoid a claim that the order didn't meet the "clam" description, it did include clams. However the clams were all in shell, half-open and floating or submerged in the broth. Not what I expected and definitely messy to fish them out. And of course, it's a chowder so where were the potatoes? But the clams were fresh and with enough sourdough to add the necessary carb load I decided on this cold wet night not to make an issue of this. So if you didn't complain, well you must have had no complaint... except I did. The bowl of clam chowder I was served looked nothing like the customer photo posted somewhere on your yelp page. I ordered from the $50 2 course prix fix menu. After I was sat, the waiter missed my glass pouring the water and poured it on the table. He was adjusting a chair for my handbag which I appreciated, but failed to see or clean the puddle on my table where my plate was to go. After ordering coffee, the waitress brought it out in a cup cracked from rim to base. And set it down with no mind or notice. I had to tell her it was broken and requested a cup that wasn't broken. My parfait arrived, it looked beautiful. Hurriedly setting it down, turning his back to me and quickly assisting another table the waiter failed to notice I didn't have a spoon to eat my food with. Expecting steak as my next course I'm not eating a parfait with a fork and knife. Looking around I saw a cluster of three servers talking in a corner. My first server no where in sight. So I got up and walked inside to request a spoon so I could begin eating. The manager came out and spoke with me, and said he would address the service. Unfortunately the damage has been done. This is my first time visiting Tiburon, and I passed on recommendations to go to Sam's and Malibu Farm to come here. Deeply regretting that decision. As a solo diner I find we can be treated as after thoughts to a server. What they should consider is we have a voice, spending power, and in my case a love of dining out.

That…read moresaid, the restaurant was only about half full, which made the wait times even harder to understand. The service was mediocre overall, but I want to give credit where it's due. Our server apologized several times for the long wait, and that genuinely made a difference. She was attentive, checked in on us, and even brought out warm bread and butter to help make up for the delay. Her efforts did not go unnoticed and were appreciated. That said, the delay wasn't her fault. The issue falls on the kitchen, FOH management, and/or the GM. On a major dining weekend like Father's Day, service and execution should be a priority. If you know it's going to be a busy holiday weekend, staffing, preparation, and ticket times need to be managed accordingly. We've been waiting over an hour for our entrees, and while we're fortunately not in a rush, that's simply too long given how empty the restaurant appeared. The food itself seems to be good, but the wait time is ridiculous and takes away from the overall experience. I would only recommend Salito's if you have plenty of time and aren't in a hurry. If you're looking for a quick or efficient dining experience, you may want to look elsewhere. The server did what she could to make the situation better, but ultimately the kitchen and management let her down.
