Mex - delicious Mexican food that delivers on all levels. I have been here more than 3x and everytime I come the service is amazing and the food is fresh and delicious. I have had the tacos and also the shrimp and steak plate with rice and salad . Chips and salsa is yummy too. We recently had our Christmas luncheon here and all went smoothly . Great options and food was bomb.com. Highly recommend and will be back soon.

Today, I had lunch with my best friend at Sabor a Mexico. We both were absolutely delighted with our meals! Really delicious and flavorful! The ingredients used were truly fresh! I had their "Battered Fish Tacos," served with the best black beans and rice I have ever had! My best friend had their "Chicken Soup (chicken meatballs)," and a "Grilled Fish Taco." We were definitely happy with our choices! All that said, "Hegel" who attended to us was attentive, pleasant and rendered excellent service!

They had Quesabirria on the menu as a special and it was literally the best Quesabirria I have ever had, and I have had a lot. The service was very good, especially because I ordered the wrong drink and they were happy to replace it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is very welcoming and authentic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] In really happy this place rates so high and I absolutely agree.

Chips & salsa - Chips were ok. Didn't taste homemade. The salsa was good but I wish there was more served. Drinks: - Aqua fresca - Hibiscus was really good - Virgin house margarita was sour and just tasted like lemonade Food: - Kids chicken quesadilla with fries. Crispy fries and the quesadilla was fine. - Guisados - the pork outshined the chicken and the fried fish. The chicken mole was too sweet for my liking, and the fish didn't have much flavor. The toppings were fresh tasting. - 5 tacos - 2 carnitas, 2 pollo, 1 carne asada. The pollo outshined, but the carnitas and carne asada were good. Again, the toppings were fresh tasting. Service was friendly and prompt, and food was ready quickly. Ambience: - Decor was fun and colorful - Great place for gathering with friends and family as tables can easily be rearranged - Bathrooms were clean Metered street parking, free on Sundays. Would we go back? Probably not. Everything tasted fine, but I don't see myself craving any of these dishes.

Found this place after yelping where to go for lunch after walking the Marin French Antique & Farmers Market - everything looked and sounded good so off we went. We arrived around 1pm on a Sunday and it was slightly busy inside but only waited about 10 min before getting seated. We were hangry and there were many different options on the menu including breakfast items (weekend only). We decided to try the following: - Queso Fundido Appetizer ($15.75) - wayyy to much oil for me and not enough chorizo = no flavor = no bueno! - Fajitas Steak & Chicken ($24) - sizzling hot and good portion size - Lamb Barbacoa Special 1lb ($55) - this also came in a half pound option but not enough flavor! - Mar y Tierra ($25) - again not enough flavor - Two Item Combo - Chicken Enchiladas w/red sauce ($18) - the sauce had a little spice to it and was pretty thick - Iced Tea and Sierra Mist ($3.75 ea) They brought out complimentary chips & salsa but it was such a small bowl, we devoured it quickly and asked for some more. Salsa was very good with just the right kick to it! It seemed like forever before the appetizer came out and it was fairly small. Then it took forever again before our lunch came out but finally we got to eat. We all agreed that the food was just ok (average) but sadly the service was definitely lacking! We did read in previous posts that service was sometimes slow but we didn't get checked on at all and we were there for 2 hours! Had to flag down each time for extra napkins, drink refills, more tortillas, to go boxes and finally the check. Also overheard the table next to us complaining about the long wait time as well.

That said, I've been here twice and unfortunately had the same experience both times. The first visit, I ordered a regular chicken burrito, and it was pretty bland. I figured it might have just been an off day, so I gave them another try and ordered a super burrito the second time. Sadly, it was also bland--even with sour cream and guacamole, which I didn't really see or taste. Their burritos are long but not very thick, and flavor-wise they just didn't hit for me. I was hoping for something more seasoned and bold. I truly hope this is taken as constructive feedback, because I do want local spots like this to succeed. The service is good, and the people are kind--it's just the food that needs more flavor. Unfortunately, based on my experiences, I can't recommend it and probably won't be returning, but I wish them the best and hope they continue improving.

This spot seems more of a tequila bar that serves food rather than a restaurant setting. For food, we ordered the fish tacos, shrimp ceviche and taquitos. Their fish tacos were good! That green salsa (avocado/chiles) that comes with it was very spicy. Shrimp ceviche on the other hand was whole pieces of cooked shrimp halved lengthwise with cut up avocado and cucumber. I have had better. The taquitos were okay, the exterior tortillas were a bit overcooked. Was impressed with the selection of tequilas however. Would recommend the anejo flight. I'm not a huge tequila expert, but discovered that I like El Tesoro Anejo, very smooth! Service was attentive and our server went out of his way to explain the difference between the various flights. I would come back to try the tequila again for sure!

I used to love walking in here. It had the vibe of a funky SoHo lounge in the 90s. I would add it to the roster for a night out and recommend it to others based on that atmosphere. Now, it looks like every other restaurant in Marin. The drinks are still great and that green ghost pepper salsa is fire. Pixels next door is fun for tipsy gaming.

The staff was super friendly and welcoming. It's like a cute little burger shop but for pupusas. The vibes are great. Clearly a lot of regulars here, stones throw from Marin Civic Center. Side-note -- you can freely roam around inside the civic center which is one of the most mind-bendingly beautiful public buildings, a Frank Lloyd Wright masterpiece that inspired a George Lucas for Star Wars. But anyhow, yes, the smell, the happy chatter, the bright windows, lots of little tables, very clean, it just feels right. I don't know Blankita but I can tell she's great. I got three pupusas, cheese and bean, revueltas, and cheese and loroco made with rice flour instead of corn. All were excellent, 5-6 bucks a piece. There are not many places like this in Marin, that feel they could be in the Mission. It's definitely going to be a tempting exit on my way home from work.
