They called me stupid, I didn't know what I was talking about and that I needed to do my homework when I asked for the sensor lights to be fixed and other safety issues. They spoke Spanish to the finance company of which I didn't understand and the price of the car went up by at least $3,000.00 without my knowing it when I got the bill of sales 2 weeks later from the finance company. I was there from 10:00 am until closing (sick and just wanted to go home). Salesman went home before I did because he took someone else to sell a car to and I had to find someone else to help me. Pay attention to the Carfax, and read between the lines of oil changes and regular maintenance done on the car. If there's a lot of unusual work it's likely there's a larger issue. Also, look at where the car originated from and where it was serviced at. Mine was local and serviced at the originating dealership. After purchase, I took mine for an oil change and inspection, and it turned out in great condition! They offer 3rd party warranties, and gap insurance, I only got the gap personally. The Auto Store of Tampa Bay is a small family owned and operated lot which is easy to miss amongst the many used car lots, congested and fast pace road it is located on. However, what attracted us to it was the noticeable cleanliness of all the vehicles on the lot. Every vehicle was detailed and display with so much pride we had go inside. After browsing the impressive lot out front we decided to go inside where we were greeted by Mike W. who was not overly pushy and very upfront about all the cars on the lot. He took the time to learn what our priorities were and answered all of our questions which were a lot. Lol We test drove the vehicle we were set to buy and notice the AC wasn't blowing as strong as it could have (keep in mind this was a 12 yr old car); Mike offered to take it to his mechanic for a check and recharge at no additional cost and even included that as a guarantee in the bill of sales. We planned to register the car in another state which became more complicated than we anticipated and Mike went above and beyond (2 weeks AFTER we purchased the car) to help us navigate the different registration and tax requirements; even helping us making calls to the Florida and out of state DMV's and getting some required forms notarized for us at no additional cost to us. Again this is a couple weeks after we purchased the car from them. Our overall experience with the Auto Store of Tampa was a great one! We were able to purchase an affordable, good looking, AND RELIABLE vehicle for our son. Had to call for a tow truck, the radiator had a crack in it, had to pay for the tow, mechanic and the radiator alone was $400. The cab of truck is also leaking there is water marks all over the headliner, wouldn't crank yesterday had it towed back to the mechanics and the truck needs head gaskets and batteries. They gave us the "carfax" (a different car report company that gives you the same amount of juicy details), negotiated for replacing a mirror in the car I ended up picking, stayed late to assist us in our decision, and followed up with us. On top of that, they honored the verbal trade-in value for my previous car. This location does not have the classic car collection of Gulf to Bay- definitely more modern cars, some luxury, some muscle, some SUVs. But it was within my price range, after the trade in. The two cars I narrowed down to were both sellihg at their Kelley Blue Book value- what a wonderful surprise! They did not talk down to me as a woman, kept me in the loop, and were straight talkers. Was told truck was inspected and safe no issues even brought a code reader. They run a chop shop…read more Flashed the ECU. Because code reader found nothing till I drove it for a couple days. Then codes started popping up but not all of them. First one was air bag sensor, engine, TPS, and jolts in gears. Took it to shop. They got underneath and found tons of wires just cut and systems unplugged and said this is what chop shops do to sell terrible damaged vehicles. I was notified that the warranty that I have was sold by the owner/GM covers none of this. I was also notified that the vehicle if in a crash no airbags will deploy. And that since the ecu was flashed and so many systems cut off from the main wire harness without replacing the main harness and multiple harnesses through out the system and resetting the factor ecu settings that they don't know the full extent of the damage because they cut wires in front of multiple systems. And covered warning lights behind the tachometer with tape. I called shop to ask about it and he just said bring it in we'll look at it and said the airbags will still function. I'm going through a vehicle inspection process at Ram to get a case together as I was lied to and sold a vehicle knowingly without let alone airbags mutiple other hidden damages. Do not I repeat do not buy a vehicle from here unless you are an experienced mechanic and even then I would be extremely cautious.
