I don't know what to say right now because my whole family goes to Contempo and I used to go there frequently 20 years ago. I think it depends on which salesperson you get. I just paid $300 to have a simple ring sized down from a 7 to a 4 1/2. There were no other customers in the store and the job took about 15 minutes. If I wanted to wait until next Saturday (I guess because they were so busy ) it would have been $100 less. What kind of BS is that? It's all about who you know in that place. They are really the only small jewelry store left in the area and I'm sure they charge more money because of this, plus it must've been a slow day so I believe that I was taken advantage of and I will never go there again. read more

I went to Contempo Jewelers to get mine and my daughter's ears pierced. It was my daughter's first piercing and Ana was amazing! Everything was done so well. The piercings were even and the process was very hygienic. The piercing itself was free and we only had to pay for the earrings. Very reasonable pricing! I went to Contempo a few times I had a necklace made out of my engagement ring and I thought that the owner was very nice as well as her staff. I also purchased a ring for myself at the same time. I went back to buy a gift for a friend's birthday April of 2024 it was a man's black brushed necklace and bracelet. One day a few months after giving him the gift I noticed he had a terrible rash on his neck. He said he didn't want to tell me because he didn't want to hurt my feelings. The necklace went from black to dirty silver looking. I finally remembered to get it from him last night and went there today. I said hello to Dale who said a quick hello back and acted like she didn't know me it was sad. They were busy today so I get it. Then when I saw Claudia the other woman who was helpful in the past I showed her the necklace and the receipt which clearly states "black brushed". She said it's silver and "if he got a rash it would have happened right away". So, is she implying that I'm lying???!! Then she said, "he obviously showered with it on". I said I didn't know he couldn't. She said it's a year ago and there isn't anything they can do. I said well then you can throw the necklace out what am I supposed to do with it. I left the necklace there and she didn't hesitate to buzz me out. Such a different experience from when I bought things. I will never go back. So disappointed. We were excited as his original was stolen and the one we ordered looked to be exactly the same. We've been charged the FULL cost of the ring and after 1 month, we've made multiple calls with zero response. We're not sure if we were ripped off and should file a report or what since we cannot get a hold of anyone. We understand it's a busy time of year for jewelers but no attempts to respond is a bit ridiculous. My 13 year old daughter decided she wanted her second holes pierced in her ears. We went to Contempo because we live in the area. Claudia greeted us and was extremely helpful. My daughter's first holes were not symmetrical because they were pierced at the same time by 2 different people since I was afraid she would chicken out after getting her first ear done (side note, not a good idea!). Claudia had a few suggestions to make them look better, one of them being to re-pierce her first holes so they would be even. So glad she suggested that! Also, my daughter is a little needle shy so it took a while for her to let Claudia actually pierce her ears (4 times!) and she never once lost patience. I would never recommend this store. They tried charging me $25 to get my watch fitted, and $25 for a new battery. I then went to a jeweler near there, and they told me that the price they gave me absolutely ridiculous and that most jewelers will do it for you for nothing. Since I never been in the jeweler before they charged me $7.50 for the fit, and $6 for the battery. I saved $37 by saying no to these greedy people.
