Not sure why I haven't bought here before. This place is great. As for customer service, it's the luck of the draw: I went in with a part for which I needed a replacement. No identifying marks -- unless you knew where to look. The first woman dismissed me right away, saying they don't carry those parts. The man next to her took the part and went straight to his computer and searched it out. Found it. Amazing! He clearly knew what he was doing; she was clearly a DEI hire. Turns out they don't carry the part, but he found a place that does and printed out that information. Smart customer service. When I went exploring for a door, another store guy saw my lost look, guided me straight to the right aisle and was right on target, including suggestions. I bought water proof flooring and it started pealing not even a year later. I've tried to get my money back and they keep giving me the run around. Bought 3 kart worth of stuff from HD supplies by myself. Fortunately customer service Specialist Juan was there to help. Surprisingly he was the only person on the floor to help, but he patiently assisted me while we grabbed 4 doors, 7 boxes of tiles and 17 boxes of floor boards and stacked it all in my rental truck. As I wait around by the register for Juan to look in inventory to find one of the doors in stock, cashier Angie was able to start the check out process. Excellent service.. though I felt bad for taking up their own person on the floor. Everyone was busy calling him on the walkie... This is a review of Jamie Alvarez who works at the information and billing desk at HD North Hollywood. Jamie is a well informed pleasent, patient and courteous person. He never appears to be in a hurry or irritable at the numerous questions I have asked him about products that I have purchased at HD. He has never made my ignorance on certain products something to be condescending to me about but instead has taken time to explain and that has wiped away a great deal of fear and anxiety. He meticulously lists every item and makes sure all transactions go through smoothly and efficiently. I am always relaxed when I have complicated orders and Jamie is behind the desk. This place is a joke, I was there around 8pm they had about 20 employees working and maybe ten customers do you think one person could help me? Nope they go ask another associate and there favorite answer is no we don't do that, no we don't to whatever. It took a meeting of 4 to decide I could leave my purchases at will call to pick up in the morning. That too was a no originally until the manager got involved. This is an example of a bunch of people who don't do this type of work nor do they care about it. There prices are not much better than Home Depot and the with the attitude of the employees to me I will go to Home Depot and pay a little more next time. I don't know who owns this store but you might consider finding someone with knowledge of what you carry and someone who wants to help on the floor and you can probably get rid of 5 people who are standing around talking about other employees. I would suggest a company meeting and ask your employees questions and I will bet you will get a different answer from each one. HD Supply has been such a great disappointment since the moment we stepped foot inside the store. On September 9, 2018, we ordered 11 items, which included 4 vinyl patio doors and 6 Alpine RETRO FIT windows (I have receipts for proof). They were custom windows so they said they would be delivered in about 5-6 weeks. I remember calling on October 20, 2018 to check the status of the windows. Michale Sierra, the employee who helped us never put in our order! That was mistake number one on their end. They said they would expedite it and get the windows to us in one week. On October 27, 2018, our windows arrive, but they are the wrong ones! They bring us blocked framed windows with grids! That was mistake number 2 on their end. We call again and they say they will come switch them again for the correct ones. As you can believe, we were extremely frustrated at this point. On November 4, 2018, our windows arrived, no grids, but this time, they are blocked framed and they are not even Alpine windows!! Yet again, another mistake on their end to add to the list. We have had to cancel our contractors in more than 2 occasions because of the mistakes HD Supply and their employee, Michael Sierra have continuously made. We've been trying to return the wrong windows to get the correct ones but the manager at the store Omar refused to speak to us. I had to call the next day, to have Omar and Rudy the store managers be extremely rude to me and imply that it was my fault for their mistakes. Terrible terrible terrible. They make it so hard to order or get their discount that they email to you! I ordered originally for a site that wasn't closed yet so I used my own address originally. Then when I went to switch it to the actual site address so future orders would be delivered directly to the site it's near impossible. So I created a new account with the site addy and now I can't use the 15% off coupon unless I want it delivered to the old address because it's "on a different account" both of which are mine. When I asked why you can't just change it for me since I was on the phone with customer service she said she had to transfer me to another department and that maybe the coupon is only good for online orders. Which by the way I already tried to use online and it didn't work. What the living heck??? I've never had to deal with a company that is so unorganized. Never again! read more

I guess right now it's social hour because I see employees congregating by the registers but nobody comes to help. This place sucks! Especially one manager! Unfortunately I forgot to get his name or I would of put his name on here. He has a long beard and is about 6 ft tall. I went in to spend roughly $2500 on 7 windows and one sliding door plus material. Almost every item is ding up or scratched. No one really helps unless you ask for help. Everyone seems like we as customers are there to bother them instead of offering help to customers. When I asked for some sort of discount on a dinged up sliding door and one window, one manager said he would give me a discount. when I went to purchase the items he was on lunch, so the rep ask the rude manager and he said he would not respect the other managers discount. So we then ask him if he could simply ask him if it was true that he gave us the discount, he then proceeded to say that he would not go ask that manager. Then proceeded to say he would not give me a discount at all. I then asked if he would give us any discount and he said "no I don't have too". So we simply just left. He obviously does not care about making his customers happy and making sales. I don't know what company hires managers who doesn't want to make a $2500 sales and make there customers happy and wanting to come back. Also the fact that you CAN pay in advance for an item but that they will not hold it for you is ridiculous! Even tho you paid for the item it is still first come first served. I rarely write reviews, but their customer service was so poor I felt like I needed to. We ordered a closet door from them and paid for delivery. It showed up the next day, which, while super fast, we didn't know about. Luckily, our handyman happened to be working in the garage so he signed for it. Which is actually a little weird that they would be okay with it. The door didn't fit (not their fault) so we requested a return. My husband and I both work full-time and told them to give us a heads-up so we could plan to be out of work or come home to meet the delivery person. When we got home the first day, we had a "sorry we missed you, but we'll return tomorrow" notification on the door. Well darn. My husband stayed home from work the next day, and called the company in the morning to be sure the person was coming. They seemed super disorganized and said they "weren't sure" and "had no way to look it up." Person never showed up. The next day we both went to work, but my husband called again to see if we could get an estimated pick-up date or time. They said the person was "probably" coming that day, so I started to wrap things up in my office to run home. FIFTEEN MINUTES LATER my husband got a call that the person was at our house. Luckily, that guy was SUPER nice and apologetic. He actually waited for 30 minutes while I drove home and met him. Definitely in line with other reviews, and we will not use again. read more

My visit here on the 18th had to be one of the greatest experiences I've had so far during the process of my home construction. I recommend anyone that goes, to ask for George A. and get his help. He went above and beyond to help us and keep us happy and satisfied. He called all the stores to find the 10 doors we needed, as they had ordered them initially and they all came damaged. He found a driver to collect all of them from the multiple locations and deliver them to our house. I have never seen anyone go that far to helping us and making sure we left there satisfied, and willing to continue working with them. RUN from this business. We paid a hefty sum for cabinets and a delivery that was constantly changing- only we didn't know because they never communicate that the delivery times change. They just don't call and don't show. THEN they DENY ever having stated the previous date! They simply lie!! The cabinets that did come from the store were delivered by delivery people not wearing make, and BOTH times they came severely damaged. The delivery people did not seem to think it was their problem at all and HD did not help much in getting up product that was undamaged. Now, I'm not sure about everything else, but the cabinets come from Tijuana, Mexico so- I would caution you NOT to entrust your projects with this unreliable and TOTALLY unprofessional company. read more

By far the best service I have gotten from a home improvement store. We are new to being homeowners. We know nothing when it comes to fixing anything that is not working. Every time I have walked in the store someone has always been available to help me with any tool or equipment we need. They are so knowledgable and have everything.
