Deli department: clean and absolutely great service...yes...with a smile and a great disposition! From there I went to look for a cake at the bakery department: beautiful selection of bright and delicious looking cakes made by a great lady, the message on the cake was written by another talented lady...beautiful writing and yes...smile on her faces (both of them...imagine that!). Then I went to the meat department: guess what? The butcher said "Hi...may I help you?" Again...big smile on his face! As I was in the checkout line this lovely lady open a second checkout line and with a smile on her face no only checked my groceries she also BAGGED THEM!!! Yes...with a SMILE on her face! I left the store thinking I was on the twilight zone episode and at any minute I was going back to a regular dark depressing normal Giant Eagle market where nobody talks, they're all pissed at the world and where even though I pay top dollars for every item I have to bag my own groceries!!! Keep it up Elyria GE...you're the best and like I said before...a breath of fresh air when people need it the most! If it's such a problem being polite and doing your job without rolling your eyes , breathing heavy, and the redness on the regular, from the last who is named Tiny. If she doesn't like her job then she should quit, and if it's just a personal thing and she hates everyone. Regardless. If her attitude does not shape up, I'll find a new store to do all my shopping at. I live literally right next door, but it is not even worth the convenience of being so close to have to get the attitude. I manage a local restaurant and deal with customers that are sometimes hard regularly, and never is it okay to give these attitudes. Your company should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this attitude to go on so much. I have spoken to someone about he before and they say that's just how she is..... Maybe it's time you change that and ask your staff to start being polite and just do their jobs. You have until new years to fix this issue or I'll shop elsewhere.

The store is old, worn, not clean. When I stepped in there was stuff on the floor, dead plants. So strange. I bought a couple of things, but I don't think I'll return. I wish there were other grocery options, but Elyria seems quite limited in that regard.

My husband ordered the Rubin's Breakfast special, I ordered the Southwestern wrap, and we got the kids pancakes. Great variety, very affordable and the servings are huge (the kids meal was the equivalent of an adult portion). Pancakes are fluffy but crispy on the outside (the perfect pancake honestly). The potatoes were some of the best around and even our baby couldn't stop eating the wrap! We will definitely be back - and I'll take pictures of the meal next time and add/share! Go check it out!

The home fries are great (crispy) and they will add onions for an upcharge. I'm just a little bitter that they're still charging an extra $1.25 for egg dishes, long past the time when eggs were up to $5/dozen. They're less than $2/ dozen nowadays and they still are charging people extra. I asked a previous server about the egg upcharge and was told it's no long applicable. This was maybe 2 months ago. Today i went in and saw the upcharge on my bill and brought it to my (newish) server's attention. She spoke to another employee and came back to tell me that it's posted on the front of the menu (which it is) and that they can't change it on my bill. I really dislike inconsistencies. My friends enjoyed the sauerkraut balls and fried mushroom bites. My one friend used to get the blueberry pancake but quality has gone downhill and they no longer make them with fresh plump blueberries.
