I went in to ConvenientMD for a sore throat, had a throat swab, and have now been billed well over $600 for the visit, even though I have a PPO plan. I understand that ConvenientMD isn't responsible for the larger problems with the US healthcare and insurance system. However, I never actually felt the swab being done, all the tests came back negative, and a week later I could still see what looked like strep in my throat and about two weeks later it went away. I'm sure the swab wasn't done correctly and a proper sample wasn't collected. Now, nearly $700 in lab fees makes me hesitant to ever go back. read more

Do not go here if you need a serious prescription. I visited for an awful cold and cough. I called a day later to request a stronger medication for my awful cough, keeping me up at night and they said they aren't able to prescribe anything stronger. Go to a real ER (and pay your massive copay) or PCP. CMD 's are only good for basic scripts like antibiotics. Thanks drug addicts for ruining this for the rest of us that actually need it. Good care, but critical billing flaw The doctors and nurses were great, no complaints about the quality of care. The 2-star rating is purely for the billing process, which is a deal-breaker. If you self-pay, ConvenientMD will NOT provide you with an itemized receipt that you can use for an insurance claim. As I live abroad, I paid for my visit out-of-pocket, assuming I could submit the receipt to my insurer. I've gone back and forth (for weeks) with their finance team, and their policy prevents them from giving me a CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) because I self-paid, which is required for my claims process. As a result, I am out the full cost of the visit with no way to get it back. This is a fundamental failure in customer service and a policy that feels designed to penalize patients. If I could leave no stars I absolutely would. walked into the Dover, NH location this evening and was treated so poorly I will never use ConvenientMD again. it's a shame considering it's a block from my home. Walked in at 7:40pm because the place I would normally go to was closed. Greeted by a nice woman and i asked if I made it in time which she said yes. Started to check in and had another man walk out saying "is there anyone else here" she said yes I have a man right here. He proceeded to ask me "what's wrong" after telling him my symptoms at the registration desk he then said "I really have to leave here right at 8pm to pick up my daughter so by the time you check-in and we get to go through everything it's going to be way to late, you're welcome to come back tomorrow" Never have I seen anything like this from a medical provider. Needless to say I won't be going back. They should really consider providers that care a little more about the patients that walk in....... or change their hours. Poor Customer Service and the Staff up front are extremely unprofessional and not helpful and definitely not able to figure out their new system. Today I visited the Pembroke Location, the office has an electronic sign in. After you sign in you receive a text message to register. Once you register, you have two options 1. provide insurance or 2. self-pay. I was neither. I did not have insurance because the policy holder for my son is under his dad's insurance. Two days prior my other son and his dad visited which I told the staff at the desk so they could find the insurance. The woman proceeded to check and then said, we would have no record of someone who came in two days prior. I looked at her with disbelief, so you mean to tell me every time someone visits, they have to register all over again and you have no historical records. I find that hard to believe. when you go to a hospital, a clinic or pharmacy you can look up someone's insurance with minimal information. I battle asthma, so I get sick often and the past three times that I have gotten sick and went in, the staff didn't seem to care and just told me it was a viral thing that has to run it course. The last time I got sick (back in late September of 2024) it took me three visits to the office before a staff member actually did anything to help me. I've been there twice this past week (mid October of 2024) because I got sick again this time around and demanded they run tests on me and all they did was do a strep, flu, and Covid test which the staff member claimed were all negative and prescribed me some medicine for my cough and sent me home. When I arrived, the person at the front desk told me it would be at least an hour wait. When I mentioned my appt being made for 12:00, she was really rude to me and reiterated the wait time. Receptionist nowhere to be found, lobby was empty (no patients). I came in to have a TB test read that was placed at Carewell in Dennis- who is closed for staffing issues today. This is a time sensitive test. The receptionist seemed annoyed that I was there disturbing her book reading time. She refused to look at my paperwork or let me speak with a nurse. Let me begin by saying I've been a nurse for 35 years. Still working in home care w a medically fragile young man. So I had visited my son in Baltimore MD this past weekend and decided to be a good citizen & be tested for COVID on my way home. Well, it was a bit of a nightmare at the Pembroke ConvenientMD. I looked online before arriving... no instructions, no paperwork to do, just "come on in"! NOOOOOPE! First employee I encountered told me to wait outside like an army Sargent. When it was clear, she called me in & sounded like a robot... like I was INCONVENIENCING her! Very short & brusque. Sends me out to my car for my 90 min wait. 30-40 min later, the nurse practitioner came out to "assess" me. She was VERY nice/compassionate. Explained how it will all be reported, etc. 30 min later, this guy comes up to my drivers window, yells my name & scares the sh*t outta me. No apology. Does oximetry & temp. Writes it on his glove ‍ Then says "ok you ready?" And starts to swab me. I put my hand up to stop him. "Aren't you gonna explain what you're doing?" "Huh?", he says. I'm a nurse I said & when I'm going to do a procedure, I usu explain to the patient what's gonna happen. Well, I shook him up & he dropped the cap to the specimen tube. "Great. Now I have to get another tube" & walks away. No idea if I was done... he carried the bare ass swab back into the clinic, probably contaminated the thing & never said another thing. I left. So scary how casual & unprofessional the whole experience was. God knows where my test swab went, & if it will be any good. Plus if I WAS sick, they never woulda known cuz NO ONE ASKED ME! They asked why I was there & I said a COVID test. No "why", "any symptoms?".... no assessment other than temp & O2 sat. It was scary. God help people that don't know what they're doing. I hate when healthcare workers treat ppl like shit. I know they are crazy busy but the clinic needs more help! Get the bosses out there! read more

COVID testing was relatively quick so I gave them a high rating when they sent me the survey despite the fact the young lady who swabbed my nose was very aggressive with the swab. 24 hours later, I have vertigo. In addition, they incorrectly labeled my COVID sample as 10/7 instead of 10/14 so the lab rejected it. I called them and was told a nurse would contact me. I knew they wouldn't and, of course, they didn't. Multiple mistakes and they choose to ignore it. How convenient. read more

This place is awful, I'll start w the good though. It looked clean and is nice inside. The nurses I encountered on 2 different visits were both very kind. But the, I guess "receptionists ?" are awful. One didn't even have the mask over her nose -- the entire time I was there, on more than one occasion. It wasn't an "accidental slip". We've been doing this for over a year, that doesn't really happen. In my opinion she had this I'm better than u attitude and was so rude to me. How can you work in healthcare or any kind of public service and be doing that? The other one was nicer, but had rings on every finger and long black nails and I just felt it was too much. I could do the black nail color but that's too many rings and nails too long for cleanliness for anyone working in healthcare, regardless of whether or not they provide patient care. Also, I don't feel patients should be able to hear your personal conversations. A plexiglass barrier does not make the desk soundproof! Also, the xray tech is kind but totally came across as clueless. I don't think it's her fault, I don't think she is actually clueless, I think there's just a huge communication breakdown from the front staff versus the back. I have contacted the regional medical director regarding this because I have received so many threats from posting this, and thus fear for my personal safety. I went to Convenient Medical because I had a burn. I was unsure when I had my last Tetanus shot and was told that I needed to have one. I advised them that I expected to have the Covid vaccine in a few days and it was of utmost importance to me that nothing interfere with that. I told them that I had read that you could not have the Covid vaccine if you had any other vaccine within 14 days of your appointment. The nurse practitioner told me that it was absolutely FINE to have the tetanus shot. it would not affect my ability to get the Covid vaccine. WRONG! The very least she could have done was try to ascertain the correct information instead of giving me incorrect information. I have now had to reschedule my Covid vaccine for 2 weeks later. read more

My husband recently went to this clinic and after an hour wait, he was told that he had nothing but a cold. The doctor told him he should take Ibuprofen and he would be just fine. Given that his symptoms seemed worse than just a common cold, he called his primary care doctor who was able to see him the following day and diagnosed him with bronchitis. The staff here also left much to be desired. While the nurse who took his vitals was very nice, the dr was rushing and seemed uninterested in even hearing symptoms or medical history. read more

Absolute worst place and horrible people that work there. They are billing you or your insurance when they do nothing absolutely nothing. I was required to get a covid test for work to start my new job unaware you had to pay for covid tests. I called and stated I have no insurance do I have to pay for a covid test and if yes how much. They told me $150. I asked if I need to schedule an appointment and they said no I could drive up but there was no way to tell how long I would have to wait when I get there. They said I can schedule an appointment and someone would call me back. I got a video call from someone who scheduled my test. I said I may need to cancel but wanted to schedule an appointment and needed to check to ensure my work would pay for it. I then called back to cancel my appointment because my work did not want to pay and told me to quarantine for 2 weeks. They sent me a bill for $150 saying I was seen by a doctor and I consented to it. NEVER did they say it's an additional $150 NEVER because I NEVER would have consented to that with no job and no health insurance. If they said it's $150 to schedule an appointment I would have said no! They knew I didn't have insurance so they should have told me it was $300. Can you imagine how much money they are making doing this to people and insurance companies! They would not refund my bill saying I was seen by a doctor. What a joke taking money from people like this during this time. I never asked to be seen by a doctor. I was not sick! Don't be fooled by them. Don't waste your time or money I was told by many people as I work un the medical field not to go there as its a joke. Unfortunately health express down the road which I love and my pcp were both not open so I thought I'd give it a shot. Front desk girls and melissa were fabulous and thorough NP not so much! She came in and spent less than a minute with me telling me that sorry its a cold and to keep doing what im doing really??? Ive been spitting up light green chunks of phlegm I said I need an antibiotic shes like no sorry honey its jusy a cold.. thats a clear infection the place is a joke! Perhaps other nurse practitioner or PA's are great there but this one not at all! I called my pcp and he prescribed an antibiotic. Ive only had 3 doses of my antibiotic and feel a ton better clearly thats what I needed. Health express is right down the road from them and they are awsome they spend alot of time with you they are thorough most likely I would of gotten a chest xray there and been sent out with nasal sprays and antibiotics.
