Someone unfortunately backed their RV into my car in a parking lot recently and did some decent damage to the rear bumper and hatch. I read good reviews about Convention Center Auto body, especially about how communicative they are so I opted to go with them. They exceeded my expectations on all fronts. I received clear, concise updates 2-3x per week via voicemail with no expectation to call them back unless I had questions. We were never playing phone tag which reduces the stress and frustrations so much. They had a little bit of a wait to get into the shop, but was well worth it. They did an amazing job on the body work and paint, practically detailed the entire car inside and out, and didn't hesitate to answer any questions I had. I got into a fender bender and needed to get my bumper fixed. Bud and Bob were incredible. It took about almost 2 weeks to get my car back due to difficulty getting my bumper from the Toyota dealership but Bob kept me in the loop the entire time, calling me anywhere from every couple days to a couple times a day, depending on what new updates were occurring. I could tell they were invested in trying to help me get my car back in top condition as soon as possible. When I finally went back to pick up my RAV, the bumper looked amazing and they fixed the license plate so it looked brand new instead of bent like crazy. The also washed my car and vacuumed the inside. In addition, they touched up a couple spots with paint for free when I asked. I would highly recommend Convention Center Auto Body! read more

This place is as legit as they come. My 24 year old Toyota truck was backed into about 4 months ago. The nice lady who did it left a note and I added "fix truck" to my to do list. I shopped around Portland looking for someone to give it the full service, but I was surprised to find very few shops interested in the job. The truck was old, so in addition to needing a new front panel, I was on the hunt for a paint job. I figured the timing was perfect. Hmmmm....now all I needed was a shop that could take on the whole kit n' kaboodle. Bud at Convention Center Auto Body was the first guy at 3 shops that I visited. His estimate was the lowest. Even though I was getting money from someone else's insurance, I had the best feeling about CCAB. Bud seemed to really appreciate the special nature of my project, and he really liked my truck. Most of all he was responsive, told me he would work with me, and lobbied for my business without being overly aggressive or salesy. I was pleased when I selected CCAB to take on the repairs. When I brought the truck in for a more thorough consultation, Bud asked me all about what I wanted the finish product to look like. He made recommendations on things that I could do to prepare the truck myself, thereby saving me money on the labor side of the bill. Seriously? I thought - this guy is working himself out of a job with his honesty! We set up a date that I could drop the truck off and I proceeded to follow his instructions on getting her ready for an overhaul. I dropped the truck off and we agreed on some added services. He revised the estimate very reasonably, sent me the update, and they began to work away. Over the course of the next 10 days I got updates, photos, and had all my questions answered (where do I get a bumper? Aftermarket or junkyard?) The guys at CCAB ended up doing so much extra work for me that they took two extra days to finish, but they didn't charge me any more than we had agreed upon. Bud stayed true to his word the entire time, keeping me informed on the regular. He was a stand up dude to work with. I felt like a new parent when I went to pick up the truck. They had done such good work I hardly recognized her. Cleaned, washed, cured, and with added features like bed tie downs that they installed and then painted to match the bedliner. These guys are pros. I would recommend Convention Center Auto Body to anybody who asks. Sure, I also recommend you shop around. But I think you'll realize where your money will go the furthest. read more

I just need to give a major shoutout to Bob at Convention Center Auto Body. My car got dinged last weekend, resulting in a small dent and some chipped paint. I had my partner bring in the car for inspection to get a quote, thinking it would be a relatively minor repair. Bob was really straight in his dealings, and explained why it would be complicated due to the location of the impacted area. Long story short, we couldn't justify the repair given the value of the car. However, when I called Bob back the next day to ask if there is anything that could be done to prevent further paint from chipping off, he told me to bring it in with some touch-up paint from the dealer, and he'd see what he could do. I told him I'd be happy to pay, but he insisted he would do it for no charge. My partner brought in the car this morning, Bob touched it up (and better secured the edges of the paint so it wasn't so delaminated around the area where the paint chipped off), and I couldn't be more grateful. That is what I call customer service. You best believe I will be taking my car back there if I need auto body services in the future! read more

They dealt directly with the insurance companies, and even though my vehicle was totaled and they got no work out of it, were super helpful and nice to deal with. Just one month later in my brand-new-to-me car, I was hit again! Convention Center Auto Body gave a fair estimate, dealt with the rental car through my insurance and were completed with all the repairs in 1/2 the time Ford quoted me! Fully recognize this isn't the scenario in all instances, but always appreciated when it does occur. Damage repairs were flawless, they even touched up a couple dings in other spots of the car completely unrelated to the claim. Oh, and they washed the car, buffed it up AND vacuumed the interior. Tip: if you rent a car from Enterprise, they will drop your rental car off at the shop and have it there waiting for you when you drop your damaged vehicle off. That way you don't need a ride. I got two nearly equal bids for repair of a scrape on the right rear of my Subaru Forester. A removal of the rear bumper panel was required for the new paint job. I selected Convention Center because Bob, who attended to me, seemed very professional, they could get to my car within a few days, and the Yelp reviews and other sources were favorable. The bumper had been removed once before and that caused a bit of a complication in the work, unknown at the time of the bid. Bob informed me about it and then volunteered to absorb the extra work and complete the job within the original estimate. They finished in the three days they forecast.
